  1. I should pay you money for them almost .....
  2. Oh go on then, my recently acquired Status Electro.
  3. I left the UK >25 years ago for NL so it was a continental affair.. Don’t see myself live there ever again. That said, must apply for a new UK passport or I will never get back into UK to visit family 😂
  4. Yesterday I travelled to Belgium to trade my AVRI (clearly adding some cash) 57 P against @Hellzero‘s Status Electro. After spending an evening with it I can honestly say it is one of the best fretless basses I have ever owned, mwah for days and a piezo system that does not sound harsh in the slightest. A very happy man indeed..... back to 4 graphite necked instruments too which I think is the right amount of graphite you need in your life Re-using original pics.
  5. Well, I actually do disagree with.... Mastrotron I never got into, preferring more Muff based sounds. The Duality is so blooming handy as it does the gated/synthy fuzz as well as a Muff-ish blow your face off with the turn of a knob. The Manta I liked a lot, but it just wasn't practical enough for me. Still what works for me may not work for someone else. The HPF on the HX does not use a lot of processing power, it is an always on affair for me so not allocated to a knob either.
  6. Yeah sorry, it was late. HPF and yes it has both
  7. Ha ha, the HX has a low pass filter .... Thumpinator not needed, so really a “budget friendly” solution..... wink wink
  8. Tony and I (part)traded basses today, I drove over to Belgium to meet and do the deal in person. Not only was the deal effortless, description of the instrument spot on and route advice really helpful, Tony and his wife welcomed me with open arms and we had a lovely lunch together. A truly great BC member, a gentleman and overall great guy. Thank you Tony, meeting you was a great pleasure.
  9. 🤯, makes me feel inadequate with only one BB.
  10. Agreed, looking at the picture. Back in the day my old 1000 was bolt on, it was also a P.... clearly this is an S and PJ so my bad..
  11. I have to admit I have a soft spot for Human Base, very nice this one too. GLWTS.
  12. I played 5 string basses exclusively for > 10 years. Now I mainly play 4 string (with a lof of drop D or C# if tuned to Eb instead of E) in my bands as I find that I do not need the B. On 4 it is just that little bit more comfortable and I actually like the restriction as it makes me a little more creative. However, I still own a 5 string and if I have a dep gig/jam or more electronic/soul/dance dep gig I will always take the 5 as it gives me more flexibility and I do not have to worry about tuning etc. In certain musical styles (especially if you are "mimicing" keys) I certainly think a B has an advantage, in 80-90% of the time you can make do with a 4. If owning a 5 for those 10-20% of the time situations is worth it (or if you just like to have the 5 so you can play your parts differently) is up to you.
  13. Not sure it would make me sell my Keeley compressor pro, but I like the idea and premise. Very good options and approach.
  14. I think having a 1st child at 13 (...😵) but still finding a way to build a singing career is pretty special. Let's face it, there are MANY MANY good singers out there, most did/do not make it not for all sorts of reasons. Aretha was a good singer, who built a long career and is well respected. If "Queen of Soul" is in fact a misnomer to me is not very relevant, as far as I'm concerned it is just another label others have given her. King of Pop, Queen of Soul, Godfather of Funk just all marketing....
  15. Not sure what happened here, my post was lost. Anyway, if you play with a pick and have your bass really low it might happen.
  16. Whilst it may be inviting for some to provide "humour filled commentary", the OP clearly has a practical issue he would like to find a solution to. Some very sensible comments made as wel thankfully. Personally I think all pancake plugs are quite "weak" as they are mainly intended for patch cords not instrument cables, so I would advise in order of cost: - change technique, costs time no money - change pick, maybe a smaller pick or thinner pick? Cost very little money and would need minimal tweaks to technique - change position of jack input to side or even rear of basss, will cost some money, but not huge amounts - design and invent a jackguard ...... not advisable To me changing your pick and adjusting your technique a little is probably easiest and costs almost nothing.
  17. I think that is a good deal.
