Chris and I have just traded Mesa amps, Venture for a Big Block. As usual this was a very pleasureable transaction and flawless.

Move whenever, move back, move to six string..... all perfectly fine at any moment. You will find what best suits you.

For the money you can’t do much better, not Dingwal quality but very very good for the money.

Mod an Ibby SRFF800, a little additional routing and you can squeeze the single bridge elements as close together as you’d like.
-
I know Hipshot do an A style bridge with 16.5mm, so you could mod any 4 string really, as long as pups do not cause issues. And I believe some short scale basses (Hagstrom e.g.) have 17mm.

So I have done a few shows with the Sumo now, so final instalment. I continue to be amazed by the power, sound and portability of the Mesa/Sumo combination. Crank it half way up and your guitardist will be begging for mercy (assuming you actually have some speaker area, like my 2 212s). Monday I tried my old M600 again, just to see if hearing it again after a few weeks would change how I percieve Mesa/Sumo. Answer, no... it is a great amp and a tone I know and love, but I also love the Mesa/Sumo tone and they are not far apart tonally. Overall, the M600 (which is my "go to" and has been for many years) is a little richer (tubes/mosfets) and has more elaborate EQ options but the difference is very small. Much smaller than the Darkglass M900 (which I have now sold BTW), Genz Benz, EBS D class heads I have owned before. RESULT!

Musicianship vs Personality & Stage Appeal
HazBeen replied to Bluewine's topic in General Discussion
Some pennies from my end: If your singer has stage presence, the rest of the band can look like cr@p with the stage presence of a card board box And certainly nobody cares about the bass player's looks/persona In a bar setting cover bands generally draw more crowds than orignals bands, why? Casual listeners prefer listening to what they know, so covers as people are lazy If you are a cover band, it does matter how well you cover the original artist and/or make it your own.. comes before presence If you are an originals band, it does matter how good your songs are and how well you play them.. comes before presence Most bands (certainly my 3 bands, 2 covers, 1 originals) aren't overly busy worrying about what the public might think but we do understand that a show is both playing the songs well and entertaining the crowd. Freddie Mercury: a master, why? He delivered the goods and grabbed the crowd. -

Sold a T16 to Pat, smooth as silk transaction totally hassle free. Recommended!

I would not risk it. I’ve had the “crap I hit the C” experience, not nice.

Or get sticky backed plastic foil in black.....
-
Okay, I am buying one... no more people wanting to borrow my bass. And apparently I will get used to how it looks anyway

I recently learnt who this gentleman is...... forget his name tho

THIS! We probably should close the thread on this note too. All in favour?
