  1. Or get sticky backed plastic foil in black.....
  2. Okay, I am buying one... no more people wanting to borrow my bass. And apparently I will get used to how it looks anyway
  3. I recently learnt who this gentleman is...... forget his name tho
  4. THIS! We probably should close the thread on this note too. All in favour?
  5. Ha ha ha ha ha! Nice one.
  6. Am keeping the beast, too good to sell for change.
  7. I won't hijack the thread, but I got into a row with the singer of my Oasis Tribute recently. This guy is NEVER prepared, everything last minute, doesn't drive so needs a lift, needed the bass player (me) to help choose and set up his in-ears and vocal mic. He called me out because I did not know a song WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ON THE LIST. 5 minutes later he was sulking in a corner as I ripped him to absolute shreds. Some people hey? We've since made up of course
  8. Super rare, Greg Curbow made ridiculously good sounding instruments, passed way too soon. GLWTS!
  9. This is now SOLD, thanks.
  10. To me the well known European builder should be able to provide you with some solid advice. Alder is the classic option, but looks dull (hence they are mainly burst or solid colours). Ash is often a little lighter in weight and darker sounding (natural scoop), nice grain so translucent colour friendly. But what you choose also depends on fingerboard and pickup selections. To my taste an Ash body JB needs a Rosewood (sorry Cites) fretboard and pickups that flatten out the scoop a litle, Lollars for instance. Alder with Ebony or Maple board and Nordstrands or Aero.... but that is my preference. so if you are going for ebony, I say alder...
  11. It is the version as can be seen on the COG website via the link provided, so version 2. Pics can be sent to any interested party.
  12. Snow business like show business
  13. Dunlop .73mm for me, the yellow ones. Perfect for my needs.....
  14. Edit: having reviewed prices on BC for similar spec Mesa amps, asking price lowered to GBP745 shipped. A year ago I would not have imagined this in any shape of form, but the Mesa Subway + Power amp solution is working so well that I want to find this cracker of an amp a new home. It is basically a head version of the MPulse 600 head (the Walkabout's bigger brother), so not a rack amp in a headcase but and actual head a la SVT shape. Truly one of the best sounding heads I have ever owned. http://www.mesaboogie.com/media/User Manuals/M-Pulse.pdf It has seen many stages, but is in really good condition as I have taken good care of it. Comes with the original footswitch, cover etc etc. Handbuilt in the USA 600 Watts Simul-State ™ Power/12 Tube Driven Power Mos-Fets 2x12AX7 4 Stage Vacuum Tube Preamplifier Inputs Active/Passive with Gain Active Bass/Treble, Passive Mid Footswitchable 5-Band Semi Parametric EQ that provides 15db of cut or boost from 30 Hz to 12 kHz Footswitchable Compressor with Independent Threshold and Ratio Controls Main Output Level Control Parallel FX Loop with Level Control Footswitchable Footswitchable Mix Control Balanced Line Out with Pre/Post Switch Bass Tuner 2 Output – 1/4 "Speaker Outputs Slave Out w/Level Control Fan Cooled 4 Button Footswitch (Parametric EQ, Compressor, Solo and FX Loop) Head (Width 21 7/8") Built in 2 Space Rack 20 kg These were 2000 quid new, but clearly in current times full sized amps have a smaller market share so I have priced accordingly. Price includes insured shipping, happy to send more pictures as required.
  15. On hold pending trade
  16. As I recently picked up a 3-in-1 COG pedal that includes one, up for sale is my COG T16 in pretty much new condition. THE octave pedal! Details: https://www.cogeffects.co.uk/t-16-octave.php Looking for £95 shipped to UK/Continental Europe. No trades as I am GASing for something
  17. Anything with strings, pretty okay Percussion, mixed succes Wind instruments, TOTALLY USELESS
  18. My Bogarts also have a semi headstock, just thread strings through holes, clamp them and hey presto job’s a good’n.
  19. Apologies, totally missed this. 4.8 kg. Look8ng to trade for a P.
  20. PMed
  21. I miss my S2.... still have lots of graphite necked basses, but should have kept it.... great instruments.
  22. Holy heck, I have had the pleasure to try a Stenback. Yes, expensive but besides the tuners literally everything is made in-house and the Stenback I played put literally any other passive JB I have ever tried to shame. For the 1st time I got why you would spend so much on a bass. They really are that good. GLWTS!
  23. So to me there are 2 things not quite right to this thread, 1. we are mainly talking 2nd hand equipment which is not the same as budget equipment and 2. We aren’t really zooming in on budget amps/cabs.
  24. Come on, 999 is just stupendously good. Surely we are not only looking for boring Fender P basses?which of course a good in their own way too.
  25. Isn’t it mainly grime on the fretboard? Nothing a good clean would not sort.
