1. Back in the early '90s I had a bi-amp bass rig. The main reason for it was that how ever much I tried any high(ish) gain bass pedal resulted in low end loss to an extent that it annoyed me and in the end I ended up getting a X-over to split my clean signal, with low going to a 410 and hi going to a 215. With speaker technology, amp technology and FX pedal technology moving one considerably over the years I sold my bi-amp set-up many many years ago. I did use a 2 amp set-up for a while with 2 seperate preamps feeding both sides of a QSC PLX1804 with my FX chain on just the one side. Recently we have seen the Tech21 DUG and Orange OB series come out, basically harking back to days of old. And sometimes I think adding an amp and buying a crossover (I already have 2 Tecamp L212s that could hand both the lows and highs) would give me next level bass sounds. Looking for opinions here, pro/con/any other thoughts. Cheers Basschat
2. In front of my amp. Although I hate being a fan boy, for this pedal I am a fan boy..... I have had the B3K, B7K both great in their own way, the VMT which I did not like at all and this..... to me this is next level. It has a girth and warmth even at high gain levels I missed in my B7K. If you only buy one DG pedal, let it be this one. But that's just a fan boy's opinion
3. Not heard this in years, I am on the "wow, this is great" side. Now to find the vinyl, must have it stil.....
4. The issue is you cannot tell by just keeping the volume knob down. Safest approach is to try and match what the manufacturer advises.
5. So if your wife starts giving you aggro for buying it, does that make it a W(h)ing(e)bass?
6. Love a black bass , glwts!
7. I recently picked up a VM5 in a trade and am loving it, never really knew how incredible the Sandberg basses are and the Panther is pretty Special (see wot i did there ..) Have a bump on me, this bass deserve to be sold especially at this price!
8. Tobie bought my Spectracomp, would trade agsin in total confidence!
9. M2000 or L2000 G&L gets you reasonably close, but a Bongo is a Bongo and if that is what you are after, save and buy a 2nd hand one as suggested,
10. I don't look like Theresa May, if I did I would also talk out of my @rse.
11. I love how Rickenbacker divides, you either love them and defend them to death or you absolutely hate them..... I am of the latter persuasion, never got the point of them and their fugly. But hey, taste = personal!
12. I just saw this, green with envy Stunning, now off to the practise shed! Lol
13. I've had extinguisher powder sucked into an old head, also one of those things you really can do without.
14.
Next thing you know, you'll be trying them out, finding yourself massively impressed, parting with a wedge of cash, wowing your band mates with your new authoritative tone and effortless headroom, find audiences thinking you're the bees' knees and becoming a devotee...
I actually used to have a LM800 head that I gigged for about a year. Horrid in appearance but it worked well enough. My back would love me parting ways with my Mesa Venture and 2 Tecamp L212's but I need enough speakers to keep up with my guitardist and drummer. So perhaps I will own a MB head again in future, but not with speakers in small enclosures... hourses for courses and such.
15. I am pretty sure there is a Youtube video where it is installed in a P. Signal through would require installing a bypass switch, easy enough but does need a little extra effort.
16. Cost vs Quality, doesn't get much better than an Ibby!
17. Spectracomp and Chorus sold pending

DI Box

Radial Pro DI, there's one in the for sale section I think.
19. Before we know it JC will be playing a Fender Dimension Custom Shop with Nordies....... I am all for change but feckkin' hell, no Wal on a Tool record.... never.
20. How dare she....... instruments, hands off or suffer.
21. No denying they look better without the SHOUTY logo
22. That would be a well spent 650. Super basses, I don't see why this has not been snapped up.
23.
So what qualifies as good looking in your books, then?! If you say "Barefaced" I'm gonna say "should have gone to specsavers"
No, we are in full agreement there. Barefaced also scores high on the fugly scale. If we are talking combo stacks, I like the look of a Mesa Walkabout/Scout combination. But I am not THAT shallow, function over form so I would even suffer a Barefaced or Markbass stack
24. I am only half decent with a pick after 27 years of playing and pretty much refused to play with a pick for at least 15 of these years. I would rather be a fingerstyle only than a pick only player if I had to choose, but taste is personal so who cares right? Botton line is that it doesn't matter as long as you lock with the drummer.
