I would say '78/89 is when the best ones I have played were all built. I had a '93 as my main bass for about 14 years, it was very good but never on par with the '82 I owned or the '86 my mate had. Also the 2 band EQ version always sounded better to me than the 3 band they brought out. But if that means golden era....

Matt and I swapped some pedals, it was an effortless transaction and smooth receipt on this end, unfortunately Yodel who should change names to Yoker threw a bit of a spanner into the works for a bit and I really appreciate his patience and understanding whilst we sorted the matter. All ended well. Great guy to deal with.

Can you use a jack plug in a neutrik socket ?
HazBeen replied to essexbasscat's topic in Accessories and Misc
Hazbeen's picture is an XLR/jack combo socket made by Neutrik, the sort of thing you'd see on a line-level input. Since you're talking about Speakon connectors, most can't be used with 1/4" jacks. The Neutrik branded Speakon/jack sockets are dark green and have the word "combo" moulded into the plastic so should be fairly easy to spot - the black Neutrik Speakon sockets won't take a 1/4" jack.
Of course, that is correct. Sorry about that (short night), the dark green ones are the Speakon versions that can take jacks. -

Yes, the hole in the middle is large enough to accommodate a jack. If it fits it accommodates, if it doesn't well you know the answer then. -
The SVP has several valves which in essence are light bulbs and will generate heat. Yes to the gents above, personally I would give the SVP room above and below. You may get away with mounting an external fan that directs air to the pre.

Right, I am putting a stop to this. Have a good day all, BC is a friendly place and we need to respect it for whst it is,

Wow.... this has been erhhh interesting. Is it possible for all involved in mud slinging to shrug shoulders, think of all the really important things in life like family, friends, kids and stop bickering? Surely nobody needs the aggro, whatever the time of day. If CK or JJ or BB for that matter did or did not play certain songs/sessions, what does it matter to the songs? They are a part of a very rich musical history and outside us nerdy bassists not many people would know any of the great bassists all 3 are, they will know the songs. I'm Dutch by the way....

I never thought I would be selling this, especially since it was built to my spec by Sander de Gier. But the graphite bug has "recaptured" me and I am only using my Bogart basses. This is way too good an instrument not to be used. This bass was ordered in April 2015 and I picked it up in July 2015. Originally the bass was passive with only a Fat Boost designed by van der Kley (the amp guy) that boosted the lows, very handy when using back pickup only. A John East URetro (flat response) 3 band EQ upgrade was installed soon after to make the bass more flexible. It comes with the original wiring included of course. Specs: 2 tone burst Black scratch plate Lollar pickups, '60s spacing Swamp Ash body Blocks and Binding Rosewood fretboard 21 frets, 34" scale 19mm spacing, CTS/De Gier hi-mass bridge Hipshot Ultralite tuners Weight is 4.6 kg There are 2 little scratches in the paint, a small paint chip near flush mount Dunlop straplock (happened when installing the flushmounts) and a small ding on top of headstock, rest is good as new. So overal in very good condition indeed. Comes with the original De Gier heavy duty gigbag that was never used so is new. Price includes shipping with neck detached within Western Europe. I would consider meeting up (and driving there) up to 300-400 km from the Hague, NL as well. Price is firm, with the East this bass would cost you over £2300 to order and it would be a 3-6 months wait. Build Diary: http://basschat.co.u...page__hl__bebop Pics: http://s87.photobuck...brary/Bebop%205 I would rather sell, but would consider (part) trades for the right graphite necked instrument or a cheaper modern 5 string (back-up bass material).

2 pedals I absolutely adore have become surplus to requirements and are looking for a new home. First up is the new Finnish model B3K in very good condition. Best distortion/grind pedal out there and am only selling as there is a B7K incoming. Comes with original box etc. SOLD Then the magnificent Providence DBS-1 dual channel, 3 band preamp with parametric mids. Runs on 12v (I powered it with my Voodolab Pedal Power 2) and comes with original EU adapter as well. In good nick with 1 or 2 small paint chips. This box is amazing, it has a switch, tuner out and 2 selectable channels mean you can easily switch between 2 with different output levels or have 2 different EQ settings available at the push of a button. Am only selling as I now exclusively use Glockenklang powered Bogarts in my main band (where I use my pedals) meaning I can use a simple A/B to switch basses. In all other scenarios this would not leave my possession, ever. £140 SOLD PENDING http://www.providenc...BS-1_manual.pdf Will consider (part) trades against quality Chorus, Phase, Reverb pedals. Prices include shipping in Western Europe.

FS: 3 onboard preamps
HazBeen posted a topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
Whilst cleaning out my music room I bumped into 3 onboard preamps. I did a quick test on a breadboard and all 3 work. Asking price = peanuts, so good opportunity to upgrade a cheapo pre or try something different. You will need a 9v battery connector, someknobs and hey presto. They are pretty much taken out fully wired up, so with a little experience soldering them in should be fine. Asking 30£ shipped for the Noll 3 band, 25£ for the Kurandt 3 band pre and 20£ shipped for the 2 band. RESERVED 1 Kurandt 3 knob 2 band pre, originally in my '93 Bogart. Volume, Pan and stacked Bass/Treble. 9v pre, German custom design. Tonally not as transparent/clean as a Glock, but more transparent than an OBP. SOLD 1 Kurandt 5 knob 3 band pre, originally in my '94 Bogart. Volume, Pan and Bass, Mid, Treble. 9v pre, German custom design. Tonally not as transparent/clean as a Glock, but more transparent than an OBP. SOLD 1 Noll 5 knob 3 band pre, originally in my '01 Bogart and a Custom design (so not the standard TCM). Volume, Pan and Bass, Mid, Treble. 9v pre, German custom design. Tonally similar to an OBP1, also Boost only. -
Thinking about letting go of my "mini Taurus pedal setup" consisting of the excellent Arturia Microbrute, The Keith McMillen 12 step and the McMillen midi hub. New this setup cost me: £245 for the 12 step, £60 for the midi hub and £240 for the microbrute = £545 Arturia is in good condition and comes with the box and all bits and bobs, the McMillen is virtually new. So save yourself £100 for this excellent bass pedal rig. Shipping included. Trades would be considered, but not sure what would be of interest at the moment.

Like it, with 5 strings please.

By far the best modulation pedal out there, I cannot overstate how incredible this thing sounds. Unfortunately I find myself only using a fraction of what this power house can do so I am contemplating moving back to a chorus pedal only and free up some cash. Comes with the box, and all bits and bobs and really is in "good as new" condition. My Voodoolab PP2 powers the Strymon without issue, but adapter is of course included. Price includes shipping in Western Europe. I would consider a partial trade against a B7K or good Chorus pedal. Features: Sound Design: · Studio-class modulation algorithms deliver meticulous and detailed modulation experiences · Five front-panel tone shaping knobs: Speed, Depth, Level, Param 1, Param 2 (Param knobs assignable per preset) · Additional menu-driven parameters deliver extremely flexible tone shaping options and versatility · 200 easily accessible and nameable presets, save and recall at the press of a switch 12 Modulation Machines: · CHORUS: Full featured Chorus with five distinct modes—dBucket, Multi, Vibrato, Detune and Digital. · FLANGER: Deep and rich Flanger with a wide palette of sonic possibilities. 6 unique fl anger algorithms. · ROTARY: Accurate implementation of a rotary speaker cabinet commonly used with tonewheel organs and guitars. · VIBE: Recreation of the late ‘60s “vibe” circuit which was one of the first modulation effects of it’s time. · PHASER: Highly flexible phaser with 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 stage, and barber pole modes. Feedback control and selectable LFO waveforms. · FILTER: LFO synced filter with three filter types, eight LFO waveshapes and variable resonance. · FORMANT: Filter type that emulates the human vocal tract and also features selectable LFO waveforms. · VINTAGE TREM: Three distinctively different classic tremolo sounds from the ‘60s. · PATTERN TREM: Pattern synced tremolo with user definable patterns and selectable LFO waveforms. · AUTOSWELL: Auto volume swell triggered by input signal. Power amp options for a kemper profiling amp.
HazBeen replied to cliffyspliff's topic in Amps and Cabs
QSC PLX would indeed be good. 1804 or 1104. Powersoft is great but twice the price or so. Or a 300 watt full tube Aggie power amp..... -
I also have the original 112's, great for the money and have been pretty bomb proof. Never used the new 212s so please ignore what I am saying.
