1. Aah, the memories.... My 1st bass (only one I could afford in my local music shop) was a 2nd hand white version, probably around '89. These were only produced for a year or two in mid eighties so quite rare and very decent quality. GLWTS!
2. +1 for kiOgon and for better pics. Difficult to tell from these, buzzing sound may be pickup or ground related if I am guessing blind.
3. Foldera (aka Bass Magazine with a Fodera on the cover)
4. Odd, I run both on my board and always on. Seems like an issue. What are you running comp and buffer wise?
5. Yep, I once saw a pic with Leo standing next to the prototype.
6. Great, now I can send treble side to a Rectifer and bass side to a Bassman, what a strange thought process......
7. AEs are not known for their wooliness or woofy character so it probale is an eq related matter. Perhaps that is all you need to change, the EQ?
8.
I don't understand how this thread has reached 5 pages, nor do I have any desire to read and find out! A cover band is one that interprets another's music and does not claim it as their own. The end.
Thank you.
9. Romeo bought my MB-7, all smooth and hassle free. Thank you.
10.
Hi do these take double ball end strings?
Normal strings, same headstock as mine.
11. Considering the time you must have waited for Nicola to complete this I have to ask, why sell so quickly?
12. This time around Alex bought a pedal off me, super smooth transaction and an pleasure once again.
13. I struggle to see the real world application, besides having a bass to take with you whilst travelling.
14. Never heard of them before, sounds like a bit of a cross between Radiohead and Portishead so suggest to check them out.
15. Best tip: don't make it out to be harder than it is, and just practise. You give up a level of freedom as you need to be a bit more precise with your right hand, but it is easier as well as you can maintain position with your left more. And 2nd tip: continue to use your 4 strings as well. It makes changing between 4 and 5 easier later on. You will also find that 80% of what you play (assuming you don't down tune to c or such) does not require a 5th string. From a drop D perspective you only win a B, C and C# with a fiver. One of the reasons I generally take both 4 and 5-ers to a gig.
16. The latest update to my Temple Audio Trio 21 board, in a Pelican hard case (which even floats). 2 basses plug into the Providence with the Polytune in the tuner out, signal chain then is: Keeley compressor Pro > COG Octaver > OneControl Buffer/Blender - Future Impact in Blend loop > Bearfoot BBO > Blackloop - with Darkglass B3K and Duality in right loop, left loop reserved for a Filter pedal (still deciding which) > Strymon Mobius for modulation (chorus, flanger, reverb etc). Powered by a Voodoolabs PP2 and TRex Juicy Lucy, all fed by 1 power cable going into the side of the board. 17. Fave 5 of today: Michael League (Snarky Puppy) Esperanza Spalding Jon Stockman (Karnivool) Chris Wolstenholme (Muse) Justin Chancellor (Tool)
