1. JUST THE US ONE LEFT NOW, AT £50 I have for sale only, two Peavey 115 BX BW (black widow) speaker cabinets. They are loaded with the 1502 DT Black Widow (700 watt programme) 15" 4 ohm speakers, and are in very good condition, which will be seen from the pictures. I set the cabinets up yesterday and both are working fine. One was constructed in the UK and is a fair bit lighter than the other, which is a US version - see rear pics. The spec sheet show them to be 34.1 k each, but there is definitely a difference. In all other respects, they are the same cabinet. To be absolutely clear, the price of £95 is for the pair of them, plus shipping; however, I will sell separately for £50 each, plus shipping. Shipping could be a deal breaker, so a collect/meet up somewhere near Bournemouth/Dorset/Hants would be preferable. Any further questions, please ask. Cheers, Graham
2. Hi, for sale only is my Peavey ProBass 1000 preamp. 9 band graphic, single input, full/high/low range to power amp. Input pad switch, pregain control, post gain control, punch switch , bright switch and headphone socket. Ideal for rack mounting, and will come with a downloaded operating guide/user manual. Everything works, EXCEPT the on/off power switch which is stuck in the "on" position (fortunately!). Never been a problem for me, as soon as it is plugged in, it is on, or a very cheap replacement if you wish. Above price is plus carriage, which should be under a tenner, or you could collect/meet up in Bournemouth/Dorset area. See pics below:-
3. For sale, no trades thanks, my Peavey CS 400 stereo power amp, mounted in SKB case. Complete with user manual. I've used this for both bass amplification and for part of a pa system. 120watts per channel into 8 ohms 200watts per channel into 4 ohms 400watts into 8 ohms (bridge mode) This is pretty heavy, so collection or meet up from Dorset is very preferable! Pics
4. Well done, and thanks Pete. Record answer time? Graham
5. Hi, anyone able to point me in the direction of a speaker resistance table? For example if one uses cabinets with different resistances, or uses multi cabinets, what resistance would reach the amp? Thought someone may know of such a table, or calculator, before I go down the Google route. Cheers, Graham
6. Hi Dek I'd rather sell the pre and power together for £150 if that's of any interest. It is heavy, so it would be a collect or meet up job somewhere around Dorset/Hants. Any thoughts? Cheers Graham
7. Final weekend bumpah!
8. Back from holiday bump, is anyone interested in any of this kit?
9. In the remote chance anyone is interested in this kit, I'm now on holiday until 5th August.
10. To anyone interested, both speakers are definitely Black Widow (1502DT) and both are 4 ohms. As edited above, there is no damage to the fabric covering to either speaker.
11. Hi Bartleby. I thought this would be noted on the plate on the rear of cabs, but of course not!! I've downloaded a brochure which says that the speakers are available in both 4 and 8 ohms, so I'll have to get the speakers out to check tomorrow. Suppose I should have expected this question. Will post again tomorrow. Graham
12. OK, rob me - £250 the lot, let's be 'avin' you!
13. OK, £250 the lot, rob me!! Hi, I would obviously prefer to sell this as a whole, but will split if the whole package doesn't sell. I've used this for bass in the past, and it sounds great, but we are just using it occasionally as an add on to our pa, to beef it up. The 115bx BW speakers are different. The US made one is quite a bit heavier than the UK made/assembled one and doesn't have the BW badge. I understand that both are fitted with the 15" Black Widow speakers though, as suggested by the model number. The CS400 power amp and Probass 1000 pre amp are housed in an SKB case as per pictures. I set this all up this morning, and it all works fine, although the on off switch on the pre amp is stuck at "on". No problem for me, but could easily be replaced if you needed it. See also pics which show loose pvc covers which still protect the cabs, but are in below average condition. I have a manual for the CS400. See one pic which also shows two RCF horn units with built in crossovers which are included in the price. I'm in Bournemouth and don't mind a reasonable drive to deliver or meet up, but much too large and heavy to ship, so collection would be ideal. Any questions, please ask away. Cheers, Graham EDIT: BOTH SPEAKERS ARE DEFINITELY BLACK WIDOW (1502DT), AND 4 OHMS. NO DAMAGE TO FABRIC COVERING. 14. Jimmy has just bought my Reverend Mercalli 5. Great guy to deal with, money transfer super quick, good communications. Enjoy the bass Jimmy! Graham
15. Sold, subject to the usual. Thanks for looking
16. OK, pre weekend, and final price drop. £475 including shipping. Going back in the "store" if this doesn't sell at this price.
17. Hi Andy, (Got your name from your band website.) Shame about the finances, I might listen to a near offer now, there don't seem to be many of these around over here at all. For your info it's a really nice simple bass to play, smooth matt finish to the neck, and a real thumper, if that makes sense? The neck is quite wide at the dusty end, see first post. The sort of retro look usually gets favourable comments at a gig, as does my old Reverend Rumblefish (US made predecessor, but oddly not as well constructed as the Mercalli), however, I'm keeping that one. Anything else, please ask. Graham
18. Yes, Pinball, it is a very nice bass thanks. Like the look of the Guild too - very retro! Have a look at the Reverend range of six strings, most of them have a retro look too, and great prices. Rick Vito uses them, and they're a real cult brand in the US. Somehow haven't caught on here, from looking at a lot of web sites the nearest Mercalli basses available new from stock are in Holland at 1,099 euros. Graham
19. Just noted that I haven't mentioned the weight, which is around 9 lbs. The condition is 9.75/10, I can't find a mark on it anywhere. If you click any of the pics it takes you to the Photobucket set which shows further pics, including an OK protek case, which is included in the price of course. Anything else, please ask. Cheers Graham
20. Sorry to see this go, but I am keeping my old Reverend Rumblefish to gig with and this one is not getting played nearly enough - hence its almost "as new" condition. It's a nicely balanced 34" scale, passive, with simple controls, full demo is here: Fine details from the Reverend site are here: https://www.reverend...ent/mercalli-5/ I believe these are made in Korea then shipped to the US for quality control, and the ZSG signature near the s/no is Zak Green's in the US. The neck at the 12th fret is 2 5/8 inches, so not for small hands. String spacing at the bridge is about 19mm centre to centre string. The price is fixed, and I'm not looking for any trades thanks, ten basses at 69 years is already too many!!! Price is plus carriage, which is around £20 in the UK, or you can collect from Bournemouth and try it out first, or I will meet up at a fifty mile radius. Any other questions please ask. 21. Just to add four or five eggs, our band regularly played support at Bournemouth Pavilion in the mid 60's, and Robert Palmer with the great Alan Bown Set was one of the highlights (along with a certain Davy Jones & The Lower Third, now who could that be?).
22. Great underestmated bass. I have a five string version which is my "go to" bass. Good luck with the sale Horvath! Graham
23. Have patience, I'm sure this beauty will sell. I had to wait a while to sell my LG3005. Most buyers will probably have to sell something first to fund this sort of money. Bump for an absolute top bass in a great finish. Graham
24. Have to say that I enjoyed the day, as I did last year. Sunday visit, therefore, nice quiet drive up from Bournemouth, park free near the venue, and no congestion charge. Yes, there are numerous wannabees, playing exactly the same as the previous wannabee, but somehow I managed to blank that out. It was good to see close up just how good the GB basses are, you don't seem to see them all that often, plus the several new names, all of which look to be of good quality. I must say that walking round the stands of all of the new amp/speaker manufacturers they sound good and powerful, but a tad "middly" for my taste. I enjoyed listening to some guy testing the Ampeg 8x12 set up which sounded wonderful. I wanted to see/listen to more of the performers this year and got to see Mo Foster, Lee Sklar (my hero), and TM Stevens, who was a complete unknown to me, until I learned of his pedigree! Each of these had really good advice and spoke from years of experience and none of them spoke down to the audience. I only bought two sets of strings, as I'm in offload mode now, but there were plenty of bargains for those who were shopping. Although I had a late gig the night before, it was well worth the effort, and I'll be there next year, hopefully. 25. Lovely bass, the EMG's give this a completely different sound to the later 2500, and a much nicer finish than my black one. Bargain folks!
