Finally made it Dave.

Just sold my Mike Lull JT5 to Chris in one of the deals you could only dream about. Communication, payment and clarity were all A+++. Chris even sent me a packing case and arranged for collection and return the next day. Gone are the days of meeting in motorway service areas in the pouring rain trying to read the figures and passwords on my banking app, I've seen the light! Many thanks again Chris, hope the JT5 makes a good bedfellow for your custom Mike Lull. A great Basschatter.

Thanks fretmeister. 👍👍👍

I'm looking to exchange one of my five string basses for a four string version. Hopefully no money changing hands. Which forum is suitable for this sort of deal? Thanks, Graham

Here we have a beautiful, and close to showroom condition, Mike Lull JT5 five string bass. Only reason for sale is arthritis in my left wrist which is forcing me to return to four string basses - even then it's hard work! 👎 This was handmade in USA and is passive. It is fitted with Mike Lull's take on the Thunderbird type pickups which give great tone, pots are vol vol tone. The scale is 35" and there are 24 frets. Body is swamp ash (beautiful three tone sunburst finish), the neck is one piece maple and graphite reinforced and has a lovely maple fingerboard. Bone at nut is 1. 7/8 inches. It is fitted with Hipshot tuners and bridge. Due to covid the bass has had little use so the finish is still really excellent. I don't have sound clips, but they exist on You Tube. The weight is stated to be 3.9k but it feels lighter to me and is very comfortable on the shoulders and easy to play. I can't add too much more - the pictures reveal all! I would prefer a face to face meet up and would travel a reasonable distance to deliver. Any questions please ask. You're welcome to come and try it in Bournemouth. I've jut added a few more pics to show the excellent condition of the bass. Neck socket and rear of neck in particular.

I've just bought a lovely Fender Custom Shop Jazz bass from Andrew, and couldn't be happier! Usual suspicious car park meet, good 4g signal, deal done in no time. We both had a bit of a drive to meet, but had a good chat about bands, gear, and the beautiful weather.😃 Good communications throughout and a pleasure to do business with Andrew. Well recommended Basschatter.

FINAL PRICE DROP TO £1,000 Part one of my five string bass sell off due to my arthritic left wrist telling me that it doesn't want to stretch across five string fingerboards any more! Rarely use the G string anyway! 😂 This is quite a rare one now from Kevin Brubaker's earler days. It is the sequel to the Lexa bass and is from 1999, in a stunning transparent flame (front and back) double cutaway ash body. This is also edged in natural edging, and is beautifully finished. The strong point is the super smooth and flat deep set bolt on maple neck with a lovely rosewood fingerboard and is 34.5" scale. The nut is 1.75" and there are 24 frets. The bass originally came to me via Elderly Instruments of Lansing, Michigan as a lined fretless bass. After a while I had the bass refretted at The Bass Gallery (beautiful job) and was told that it had left the factory fretted. There is no evidence of any of this previous work on the fretboard. There are swirls in the finish but I can see no dinks or through finish chips anywhere. The pickups are Basslines soapbar and they are complimented by a Seymour Duncan 3 band active pre amp, all working fine. The preamp and battery is accessed via a large SINGLE screwed cover, now isn't that a good idea? It is fitted with a Hipshot bridge and tuners. A few of the pics below are from the original advert, notably the fretboard finish, which shows it when it was lined fretless. I've weighed it at around 9.5 lbs or just over 4kilos. You're welcome to try the bass in Bournemouth. I would ideally like to hand the bass over personally rather than send it via carrier. Please let me know if you need to know anything else. No music files I'm afraid. Edit new pictures to reflect a truer colour.

Thanks all above!

Thanks for that neepheid, sheetmusicdirect looks like the one I want.

Yup, got that one, and yes it's great. Managed to unravel How Sweet It Is with that book. I really want a source where I can download individual music and print off. Don't mind paying.

Any suggestions for accessing individual bass scores online? My particular interest is Motown and Northern Soul. Thanks. Graham

Well, as the o OP of this post, I can now update with my experience. I never got round to trying this at the time but, as a result of advancing age and wrist problems, I purchased a very well set up Mexican Precision Bass on here and fitted strings tuned to BEAD with no mods at all, and it's a revelation! As stated above I rarely used the G string and can access most higher notes that I may occasionally need on the D. I'm a very happy bunny! 👍👍👍👍👍

Bought a used, but excellent condition, Fender Mexico Precision Bass from Steve in a very smooth sale. The bass was in better condition than expected. Couldn't recommend Steve as a seller more. Graham
