  1. Time to thin them down a bit - at my age I shouldn't have any! 😀 Not a striking looking bass, but a great bass to play. It's from 1999 and is a 35" scale. The pickups are Bartolini jazz and the pre amp is Bartolini NTBT 18v. Pretty good nick for its age, no serious marks, although the paint on the bridge has worn through and the pickup covers are worn down a bit - this is a used bass. It has, I believe, a chechen finger board and graphite strips in the neck. It is not the usual Modulus all graphite neck. It is a great player, and a pretty big bass. My bathroom scales say 4.4 kilos. Comes with the fully functionable Modulus hard case in the pics of course. The string spacing at the bridge is 19mm. I am not looking for trades, thanks. I need the money - and the space. Very difficult to decide which one should go, as I love and play them all! 😄 You're welcome to come and try the bass in Bournemouth, I'll deliver free within 100 miles, we can talk about anything further. I don't have sound clips, sorry. Please let me know if there is anything more you need to know. Thanks for looking. Graham
  2. Good to hear Martin. It's not too late to pay me a bit more for, if you insist! Quite agree, a very under rated bass, and in my opinion, nicer to play than the newer 2500. Glad you're enjoying it. Cheers, Graham
  3. Ger has just bought my treasured de Geir Bebop 5. We both travelled to Calais to conclude a face to face deal, quite long drives for us both. Great communications throughout the arrangements, and a great person to deal with. The bass hass gone to a good home!
  4. Now sold, subject to the usual. Going back to its birthplace!
  5. NEW REDUCED PRICE No longer includes the 150 mile free delivery. Prefer a meet up with shared costs. Thanks for looking, Graham You tell by my user name that I'm no spring chicken any more, and the bigger amps and cabinets are too much for my back. So here we have a bargain set up. Ampeg SVT350 all transistor amp, Ampeg HLE 410 and Ampeg SVT 15E speakers. All are US made. The amp and 4x10 are in excellent condition due to having heavy duty pvc covers, the 15 is in very good condition. There are castors on the 4x10. The bass pot/knob has been quite stiff since I bought it, but has always worked fine. Not much more to say about this fine example of a very reasonably priced Ampeg stack. Included in the price is free delivery within 150 miles of Bournemouth. Further than that, we can discuss. I don't want to split this rig, and I do not want trades, thanks. Thanks for looking, Graham
  6. Just sold an EBS DI box to Darren. Great communications, fast payment, met up halfway. Couldn't wish for a smoother sale. Thanks Darren - hope there's enough knobs for you!! Graham
  7. EBS Microbass II pretty well as new, only used for headphone rehearsal in a non smoking home. Only selling as I have just bought an Ampeg DI for the same purpose. The EBS has many more facilities (which I don't need). The £150 includes postage to the UK. Comes with box and instruction booklet. Any questions, please ask. Cheers, Graham
  8. I've just bought an Ampeg di pedal from Jason and the deal couldn't have gone smoother. From first communication to delivery and all in between - top man! Many thanks Jason
  9. Well that sounds good enough to me. Thanks. Graham
  10. I've had a scout around the forums, but I can't find a list of folks we SHOULDN'T deal with. Where Basschatters have reported a bad or scam deal for example. Is there a list anywhere on here? I know this might be contentious, but reference to a list of people not to deal with would have probably helped me avoid a recent scam I've experienced - not on here, by the way.
  11. Hi Ynysegal I've attached a pdf copy from East's web site. There is NO actve passive switch, and this configuration is no longer made, having been replaced by a similar model. Hope this helps. Cheers, Graham
  12. Just gigged this bass and might just keep it - it really is a beauty!
  13. Hi Filipbass, Sorry for not replying earlier, I have been away on holiday with little or no internet signal. I don't know the answer to your question, but I will find out and get back to you. Cheers, Graham
  14. Plenty of exchange offers, but still waiting for the connoisseur who wants to buy!
  15. Thanks for that, it is just as I suspected. Thanks for taking the trouble. Cheers, Graham
  16. Looking for a bit of confirmation re the size specs of a 90's Modulus Flea 5 pickup. I'm pretty sure that I have an old Lane Poor in there which I'm finding a bit "hi fi" for my liking. Having taken measurements and looking for replacements, Bartolini, Nordstrand or Aguilar, I've come to the conclusion that Modulus fitted four string pickups in these basses (it has quite narrow string spacing). Can anyone confirm this please? Cheers, Graham
  17. A flurry of activity/interest over this lovely bass, but still available. Graham
  18. Thanks Harry, the temptation of a Soulmate is still there! Hope you're good and that you're not sorry you went graphite?
  19. A big reduction (Nov 18), I really need to get on and order my de Gier Soulmate! Also a couple of new pics at the end of this post showing the black pick guard which comes in addition to the tortoiseshell one. (matching covers for pre amp cover on the rear) Two of these recently sold at Paul's Bass Matters for 1,500 euros each, and didn't have the East pre amp. Well, I've had great fun with this wonderful bass which I got from Hazbeen on here around eighteen months ago. At that time I was looking for a used de Gier Soulmate 5 - these don't appear to exist! So I have decided to sell the Bebop (and one other already sold) to fund a purchase of a new Soulmate. That is the only reason for the sale. Since manufacture Harry had an East U Retro (flat response) 3 band EQ pre amp, with this fitted almost any sound is achievable, and a great addition. This replaced the de Gier "Fat Boost" circuit which came with the bass - this boosted the low frequency when using the bridge pick up only, and will be supplied with the bass. I have also had matching tortoiseshell pick and pre amp guards fitted, but the bass will have the original matt black ones (shown on the de Gier factory shot from Instagram) supplied with the bass. Main specifications are:- Lollar pickups, 60's spacing, swamp ash body, rosewood fretboard with blocks and binding, 21 frets, 34" scale, 19mm spacing, de Gier/CTS hi mass bridge and Hipshot Ultralite tuners. It weighs around 4.4kg. It is a used bass, so there are one or two minor marks, no buckle rash. A paint chip near the flush mount Dunlop straplock, see picture 5. This really is in super condition and gets many compliments at gigs. It comes with an unused de Gier very heavy duty gig bag. I would really prefer a face to face sale, and you are welcome to come and try the bass. Carriage would be extra and it would be insured and have the neck detached. A meet up in southern UK would be preferable. Let me know if you need any further info, but I don't have sound clips. There are some on the de Gier website.
  20. Hi Simon, I'll take this please. Let me know payment details, and I'd like it posted to Bournemouth thanks. Cheers, Graham
