Actually in my experiance it's the other guys in the band that care the most about you having a bass that says Fender on the headstock... I've been to a number of auditions where it's expected that you'll play a fender... obviously I never join those bands once I've found out they are more concerned with what they look like than what they sound like, but still it does happen alot. I agree that no-one in the audience cares but quite a few bands would turn their noses up at anything other than a Fender.
I can't understand why it's important but I guess it is to some people. Don't blame you for walking away.
2. No one in your band or the audience will care what badge your bass is wearing as long as it doesn't sound bad.
3. I write the songs in our band. I sold a jazz bass that I didn't get on with in terms of neck profile, but writing songs on seemed effortless in comparison to using my current basses. I miss the bass quite a bit but I don't miss playing it. Odd but true.
4.
My bass doc built P is always in tune. My jap jazz used to wander a bit. I do think the quality and tension of the machine heads has a lot to do with this question
My Japanese made P wanders a bit too
5. My American P stays in tune remarkably well. I sometimes wonder why I check it. It's really well set up (manchester guitar tech) and I move it around in a hard case. I guess that helps.
6. I wish my tort pickguard looked as nice as that one

9.
I'm sorry Manchester, you're not London (and even London isn't especially important any more on the gig circuit), you're just another city in the north of England. If there are no promoters or venues prepared to give bands a decent deal, then like us they'll just go to the places that will. So it's possible to see the Terrortones in Liverpool, Blackpool and Stockport (to name but 3 alternative locations in the same general area) but unless things change for the better, I can't see us going back to Manchester any time soon. Sorry to anyone in Manchester who wants to come and see us, but until your venues and promoters stop living in the past and realise that the way gigs are organised has changed, we won't be playing there.
Where do you gig in stockport, just out of interest. Ta
10. The girl who puts bands on at the roadhouse is lovely. Makes a lovely cup of tea too.
11. The old one was the P510 combo. The P510 has been discontinued for some time now.
12. You only have to look at the gear porn section to estimate the amount of precision love around. The precision thread has over 1200 replies and over 100,000 views. The jazz bass thread, for comparison, has generated nowhere near that level of interest.
13.
Very pleased with how it has turned out, just need to get the paint sorted and shield the electronics cavity properly and it's finished.
I think that look ace as it is!
14.
I like those two tracks. Nicely done. Cheers Geoff
Very generous, thanks!

here are a couple of recordings done yesterday with the fender rumble head and one of the rumble 112 cabs. All the dials set at noon apart from bass set at 11am and low mid set at 2pm. I added a little overdrive to track one but not track two. Not sure how useful this will be in terms of hearing the bass as the guitars are in there etc and my playing style is quite basic.
18. Inconvenient and much worse for the people who were evacuated from their homes. The top two floors of the mill need to be taken down apparently and it could be 3 days before residents can return - according to the local news. Could be tight for getting your gear.

Yes I haven't played around with eq either and thought it sounded well flat. I suspect it will require just a tweak if anything. I need to hear it at volume and with our drummer but I'm very pleased so far. A mute button would have been nice if I'm honest but not the end of the world.

Yes Rumble 112s. I've had a noodle in the house at v low volume but I won't get to test it out probably until next Tuesday. First impressions are positive though. I'm sure I'll find a tone I like and it feels solid enough.
