Hamster, where did you get your preamp from? i'm looking to get one of these.
-
tayste: that is looking sweet. can we get some close ups of the board and the right way round? Are there any pedals which you always leave on? could you Velcro them to the underside of the pedal train to make some more space?
-
there's no way you're gonna fit all that on one board.

pm sent!! Sounds very interesting.

you wanna sound big and punchy and in tune. Compressor and Tuner Demeter Compulator in the for sale section, lots of people including myself recommend them, or EBS multicomp are the two major contenders. Tuner: Boss TU-2, Korg DT-10 i think, or peterson strobostomp if you think you can hear a difference of 0.1 cent. For 3 piece type stuff like u2 greenday chillies my personal preference is not to go with effects that take away from the bottom end of the bass like fuzz or synth. You just want to be rock solid, punchy, supplying the low stuff otherwise it looses its energy. IMO.

I have a markbass 1x15 STD HF cab for sale. It was the first model from markbass with black cones, it has exactly the same specs as the new models. Looking for around £320 and can deliver around the RH16 area or near brighton . Only used a couple of times in my bedroom a couple of years ago then got left in it's original box in my room at home while i was at uni. PM me for any more details. Cheers David

The one in the post above looks like the right polarity. The diago website has the same thing: http://www.diago.co.uk/component/page,shop...art/Itemid,206/ The blue adaptor, bit more expensive but it says it's "Reverses polarity to a positive tip, 3.5mm (1/8") mini jack plug" Which is what you need. I got one from diago for my Compulator.
This is what it says on the Demeter site.. Power supply: 9 volts DC. Either external or internal. For internal power, use a 9 volt battery. To access, remove the four screws on the sides of the unit and pull apart. Note: battery must have at least 7 volts for unit to work! External power supply using mini plug, tip positive, 9 volt DC regulated (100 milliamp or more). I guess I need a positive tip one then. Thanks.
Selling an almost new logic pro 7.2 £110 posted or £100 collection Vauxhall/Kensington london. Bought it with my macbook last July only used 3 times, boxed with all manuals and XS key just never got round to recording much. In a new band and the lead singer uses cubase so going back to that to make it easier to exchange ideas. Scuffs on the corners of some of the manuals just from opening everything else perfect condition. If you want logic studio 8 you can buy the upgrade from logic pro 7 for £129 from the apple store, total significantly less than buying 8 straight out. If your doing that i can send just the CD's and XS Key for £100 posted. prefer paypal Cheers dave

i saw them at wembley arena and tbh the bass sound was poo , mainly due to the acoustics of the room, it's always boomy and mushy. But the night as a whole was amazing, great performance a great fun, even if dave seemed to be coming down with a cold and soar throat.

sweet setup there!! Is the hard drive just a usb input and does it handle recording lots of track simultaneously and is it quiet enough to record in the same room? I've got a lacie hard drive and it's noisy as hell so generally record to my mac's hard drive and just use the hard drive for archiving stuff.

its perfectly possible to have 4.5Gb of RAM, you could have 2 x 2Gb and 1 x 512Mb sets. I heard somewhere that you get better performance from ram if all the sets are the same, so you could replace the 1x512 set with another of the same size. Although that could be complete rubbish. Unless your having trouble playing or recoding multiple tracks with multiple effects plugins then you wont need to upgrade. With that much ram i would have thought it would be your processor that has touble before the ram. What performance aspects are unsatisfactory at the moment? why do you think you need to upgrade?

+1 for ShergoldSnickers post; i know a few people who have m-audio stuff and use it with logic so pretty sure it would work for you. If you do decide to go for a new mac and logic pro, call their sales line and ask for any promotions for buying logic pro with the mac, got mine much cheaper than buying seperately from the apple site, plus the call centre is in ireland so you get to talk to a wee irish chappy. Just need to find the right deal on a motu traveler and i'll have the ultimate mobile recording setup for under 2 grand.

i've also played that bass when having lessons with him, he's a right laugh, top bloke!

Hi Joe, where abouts has this got to in the list? are we anywhere near the end of the list? is there any chance of being added to the end of the list? i've been thinking about getting one of these and would appreciate being able to try it out and see how it works with my setup
