im not using amplitude for the bass now, just guitar cause it sounds awesome so by doing that i will get the sound thats played in amplitube recorded? this must be like pulling teeth....
Sounds like your using Amplitube as a standalone piece of software rather than running it as a VST plug-in right? If so, rather than running a seperate instance of Amplitube you just need to select it as an insert plug-in on the track that you want to record guitar on in reaper.
But what's the one piece of advice I keep seeing on BC regarding beginner purchases? - Try a few and see what takes your fancy.
Good advice, unfortunately the ability to do this is becoming less common as the manufacturers are battling against software piracy and are reluctant to allow trial versions to be available for download. None of the manufacturers I mentioned in my post have demo versions available, Cakewalk and Ableton do I believe but unfortunately pirate copies of their software are all over the net. The phrase stuck between a rock and a hard place springs to mind...

Hi Al, Don't know if you're going to stick with Cubase or not but there is a great resource with video tutorials here. Cubase is pretty much at the top of the tree when it comes to DAWs along with Pro Tools, Pyramix, Logic et al. They're all good and each have their pros and cons, I would suggest that those telling you to avoid it simply don't like the GUI or maybe have never put the time in to learn how to use it (something you're going to have to do with any DAW incidentally). I use Cubase (Nuendo), Pyramix and Pro Tools at work and once you know them they all do the same thing. For more help with learning the software you could do worse than browse through the many Cubase Notes articles available on the sound on sound website. Here are 112 of them to get you started! Good luck and enjoy.. Cheers, Sean.

Hi Tim, I'm assuming that the Boss pedal was bypassed right? If you use the HiZ input on your FA-101, you won't need a DI box (or the Boss pedal). As for the tone change (whether it's an improvement or not is personal opinion) it's down to cost cutting on behalf of Boss by not using a true bypass design. See here for more info. All the best, Sean.
yeh got a Lightsnake USB cable And yeh, this is all fairly complicated :S
If you want to monitor Amplitube while you record I would recommend trying Reaper (because it's very cheap and has a relatively high spec), you may still run into latency problems however. To reiterate what Eight said I imagine you will have to use the ASIO4ALL driver with this to get the best results. If this doesn't give you any joy you're going to need a 'proper' audio interface... Good luck and let us know how you get on

Hi Randy, Just to add, you're going to need an audio interface of some description to get the signal into the 'puter in the first place (apologies if this is teaching yer granny...!) or do you have one already?

Sounds like it could be only one or two things to me... First try going into the Project tab and opening Project Settings. Within here there is a Length section, if this is set to 15 seconds then that is your problem (this would be very unusual) anyway set it to something like 1 hour and click OK. Other than that it could be that the drive you a recording to has limited space available, it should tell you at the very bottom of the project window how much time you have available for recording based on the number of tracks you are recording/sample rate etc.. Check firstly that you have ample disk space, then check that you aren't record enabling more tracks than necessary. Let us know if you're still having problems...good luck!!

Now surplus to requirements and selling to fund another cxl112/nl210 cab. I expect you all know the quality of these amps, very transparent and powerful little things! It comes with the EA padded gig bag too which provides decent protection for the usual back of the car trip to the gig. My amp is in pretty good condition for it's age (about 5 year old) with just a few scratches on the top as seen in the photos. Any potential buyers would be welcome to come and try it out before committing to buy, I'd also be willing to ship it at the buyers expense (in it's gig back then bubble wrapped and boxed for added protection). Power: 350 watts rms @ 4 ohms, 1200 watts peak Weight: 14 lbs Size: Small?? I'll measure it if you need to know... Open to offers...here's some pics...also got them up here.
Hey mate thats really nice. By the way - how are the Assembly Rooms going?
Hi John, good to hear from you. Assembly rooms gigs are going well thanks, bit of a wild one tonight though, felt a bit dodgy leaving the PA and all the gear (except instruments of course!) behind but there were plenty of burly bouncers knocking around like... I am currently using a Squier JV precision for the gig and loving every minute of it!!

Hello everybody, Looking to trade my SR5 for something more jazz like, preferably another 5 string but could possibly be swayed! My Stingray was born in Feb 2000 and as you can see from the pics is a beautiful natural example (the nicest finish in my opinion) in remarkable condition for a near 9 year old bass. There are one or two tiny marks on the back (which you cannot see when photographed) which are just small dents in the lacquer, and the obligitary dings in the end of the headstock (as pictured) caused by low ceiling/idiot owner syndrome which incidentally cannot be seen from the front or rear of the headstock. Nothing out of the ordinary for a bass of this age. Sounds and plays beautifully as you would expect of an SR5.
