Hi, I bought this off jay249 to fill an interim period when I was between basses and it has served it's purpose very well. Now I have acquired a Stingray and it's got to go. It has had upgraded Bartolini pups and preamp and also an ABM bridge. It is a very nice playing bass with a decent range of sounds. Looking for just £150 which is £20 less than I paid for it two months ago AND it has had a much needed setup. Thanks, Sean. I'm not sure where you guys get that a quad core is noisy from?? I run a Q9300 with a passive heatsink, it is neither hot nor noisy!! I would avoid overclocking like the plague, you will not need the extra headroom this provides, also along with the extra power comes greater instability...the last thing you want in a DAW... +1 here for the Antec P182. It is fantastic, very quiet and also very large making the build an awful lot easier than some cases. Make sure you spend a decent amount of money on a good power supply, possibly the most underrated component of the lot. You can get some good passively cooled graphics cards too, so unless you want to run games you can minimise noise here also. I would also advise to get the most poweful and up to date (intel) processor within your budget, otherwise you will be upgrading in what seems like no time..

It's obviously in good condition for a shaft, he says so... It's probably in better condition than my shaft.

Overwater Progress lll Deluxe Fretted 5 String

Thanks for the kind comments fellas NJE, I'd be interested in a trade but only for a five string, I'm ideally looking for a Jazz of some sort. I'm getting pretty desperate to sell both this and the fretless progress I have listed here somewhere and replace with just one fretted five string to make some cash!! Make me an offer!! -
Overwater Progress lll Deluxe Fretted 5 String

Hi Mark, In terms of playability the extra scale length really tightens up the B string in comparison to many 34" scale basses I've played, it also doesn't feel any bigger than the 35" fretless overwater I have. I think the benefits in sound outweigh the minor disadvantage of the longer scale in that once you've played a longer scale bass for a few hours you no longer think about it being any different to a regular scale bass (at least that's my experience!) Hope that helps, cheers, Sean. -
Along with my fretless Overwater the fretted has to go too unfortunately! The bass is 36” scale length with 24 frets, it has an American walnut body with burr maple top and headstock facia. The neck is 5 piece maple and bubinga with an Indian rosewood fretboard. The bass is fitted with the heavier brass bridge option. The only other thing I can think to mention is that the volume control is a pull pot which puts the bridge pickup in single coil mode. It is serial number 3102 and is dated 10th October 2002. The bass is in overall great condition, the only slight mark is on the inside of the bottom horn (walnut part) which you can just see on the large picture of the body, it really is the tiniest of dents though… You can view more pictures of the bass here. Thanks for looking! Sean.
talking to my dad yesterday and he expressed an interest in a 5 string solid bodied fretless, and knowing me dad's preference for stuff like this, he'd want an unlined and probably active one. Any recommendations? I think he'd quite like a neck thru thumb if there was such as thing that met all the requirements, but I don't think he knows how much they cost!
Hi John, I have an Overwater 5 string fretless in the market place section at the mo'. Depends on how much he's looking to spend though, I played a friends Cort Curbow once and that seemed alright for the money...wasn't a thru-neck I don't believe though.

It pains me to do this but needs must! I have for sale my beautiful Overwater Progress lll Deluxe fretless, for the meantime I will revert to using my old faithful Aria Here are some details: the bass is 35” scale length with 24 frets, it has an american walnut body with a lacewood top and headstock facia. The through-neck is 5 piece maple and bubinga with an ebony unlined fretboard. It is dated 25th June 2004, I bought it from Overwater about a year after this. It is in excellent overall condition with two very small marks in the laquer on the back. You can view more pictures of the bass here. If you have any questions please ask! Thanks, Sean.
