1. Hey mate, sent you a message via ebay pm me here if your interested :-)
2. I've been playing my Mesa m-pulse for a few years and there's days it sounds awesome ad days I spend more time tweaking the sound than playing. Time for a change and brought cheaply, a Warwick tube path, great sound, then it went bang. Luckily got my money back, so next I went to the other end of the spectrum and picked up a genz Benz shuttle 9.2, with oodles of volume for no weight, but I just didnt really fall in love with the amo (now on sale). So now I'm thinking of going back towards the heavy end of the spectrum and looking at either a Mesa 400+ or a Ampeg SVT 4 Pro. So I'd like some thoughts, feedback or suggestions. Is one more reliable than the other? ( I play rock and metal with a Warwick 5string with a ampeg 410HLF can) Thanks for reading -M
3. Itsounds like a lot of fun, you get far less for for a lot more when touring in a unsigned band. I'm quite envious! Keep us posted how ya get on
4. Bump....listing on ebay
5. Its a toughie I don't have kids, neither me or the mrs want kids and to an extent if a kid is in an adult environment thats the parents choice but i shouldn't have to accommodate them by avoiding my dirty whoring habits, conversation or other habits (as it stands I'm the good boy in the band as i don't drink or smoke...but..) With band matters i always take the line that, unless its affecting the on-stage performance i try to bite my tongue as everyone has habits personal or musical that piss the rest of the band off. Id make the kids hump the gear, sell the t-shirts and generally help them come to the decision that being out on the road ain't that glam or fun. If the parents can't adequately look after them then one or both should bow out until they're old enough. Seeing as its a bit too late to kick them back into the womb :-P
6. I can't seem to upload pics directly on to my original post so pics can be found on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mmulcaster/sets/72157629706920894/

11. My M-pulse 360 is lovely & loud i dont think for the average gig i've ever needed anything louder. I love Mesa, i just wish i had a enough spare cash & justifuication to buy another one. Those are some pricey-metaballs!
12. From the way mine went pop its either just the onboard fuse or the output stage amp. I spoke to my local guitar amp doctor who said he's had a number of them in over the years and becuase i just got it to send it back. They have a xtreme 10.1 which id be slightly tempted to look at but at the end of the day i realised very quickly that lugging a 20kilo head around isn't as much fun as it used to be, considering how many great lightweight amps are knocking about.
13. Hiya, I was the bassist for the female fronted metal band Solsikk, the band had one album released with a label and management deal. We played at festivals such as Hammerfest, Bloodstock and played in various venue sizes from Dublin Castle right up to Sheperds Bush Empire. I'm looking for a heavy metal band that will challenge my current abilities yet offer room to groove and have fun on stage. Band wise I'm open minded, I'm 30 so similar age and experience would be handy. I'm looking to write and record and with todays digital technology I'm happy to collaborate remotely or write at rehearsal. INFLUENCES I have a wide range of influences that include: Steve Harris - Iron Maiden Ryan Martinie - Mudvayne Adam Duce - Machine Head John Myung - Dream Theater Tim Commerford - Rage Against Machine Bands i enjoy listening to are: Alter Bridge, Black Stone Cherry, Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Mudvayne, Dream Theatre, Iron Maiden, Metallica, All that Remains, Opeth
14. So the Warwick amp turned-up yesterday took it to rehearsal and tried it out, played it for about 20 minutes then it it went 'pop'! So i'm sending it back, think ill take a punt at the Genz Benz streamliner 900
15. Im going to say mine on March 12th 2009 between 19:00-19:15 before i tweaked something on my amp and lost it
16. I'd probably not go for anything more than 500w. I play generally pubs these days *cries* and i don't get my Mesa cranks dot much more than a quarter. 8ohm cabs are probably a good shout as like the others have said it gives you room to expand, getting a monster 8x10 is awesome until you have to move it regularly then you'll probably wish for either 2 cabs, or a van and a roadie or three to move it. I use a nice Ampeg 410HLF which has lots of bottom end and isn't too much of a pain to move into a van.
17. Black Stone Cherry's Third album: Between the devil & the Deep Blue Sea
18.
The trouble with the mpulse is that there are loads of options for tone shaping - some great sounds but if you are not careful some horrible ones!
Good idea, i think i tried that once but only very quickly, i should spend some serious time in my rehearsal space was stumbling around on ye old Bay of E and i came across someone selling a Warwick Tubepath 10.1, so i brought it. Wasn't in anyway a massive investment, Id played one two or three years ago and seeing as I'm looking to buy a new amp i thought why not? At least i can A/B with my existing Mesa Amp and really see if the new for a new amp comes from me just wanting a change or something more 'tonal'. Suffice to say if it doesn't work out with the Warwick ill offer it up here, and if it does then ill be selling my Mesa. Anyone use or have played with the tube paths? I know they're a few years old and peavy by todays standard but i thought it was worth the cash off hand.
19. I use a MXR Bass Blow Torch, it gives quite a nice guttural bass fuzz, doesn't work so well in the covers band I'm playing in now but was perfect for my previous band
20. delete me :-S please
21. In fairness it might be the cab i was playing through, for all i know if it had a tweeter volume dialled up that might explain it. I wont discount it at the moment then, ill revisit and have another good play :-0) Ill head-up to bass direct and spend some time going through their range of heads.
