1. hmmmm might bypass the Hondo then, can't see the pink P Bass in the threads? I'm loving this right now http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2013/02/15/jackson-introduces-dave-ellefson-signature-kelly-bird-bass/
2.
My main Bass is now a Squier VM Jazz...totally stock. Fantastic Instrument once set up properly....and the Squier Logo stays, no gear snobbery here
Same, gigged a 4 string VM Jazz for a year but replaced the pickups with EMGs. Then upgraded to a 5 string VM Jazz over a year ago and still gigging it completely stock. Bought several basses during that time including Fenders, G&L etc. Just something about the VM Jazz that feels right to play and sounds great. Also if it was involved in a freak accident at a gig and was broken beyond repair I'd just buy another one without breaking the bank NB I am eventually upgrading to a Lakland at tsome point though I will probably use that for the classier gigs.
3. So For a self indulgent laugh some friends and I are going to put together an 80's cock rock tribute act. Might not ever gig, might just be rehearsals, but could be a huge ammount of fun. Anywho, I've been looking for suitable bass for this, nothing expensive but decidedly fitting of the genre (my 5 string jazz isn't going to really be quite right). I spotted this on ebay and was hoping for some thoughts, experience with Hondo as I've never played one. I messaged the seller to see if there was a country of origin which there wasn't but it does have the serial number 880610722 on the back of the headstock. Reading the internet I am led to believe the MIJ models are much better than the Korean ones. http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 Also price wise, is it in the right ball park or is there room for negotiating? It looks the part at least, maybe some barbed wire fret markers and an Iron Cross sticker and it'll be good to go Thanks for your help guys Alfie
4. Hey Matt Yes it's still for sale and I'm happy to post for £275
5. Pre weekend bump Really would like this sold (and so would the wife)
6.
Had one just like this, great bass and I don't know why I sold it. Tempting me Stu.
Same here If i had the spare cash I'd have it.
7. oooo it's tempting but it'll be a straight sale if I decide i like the combo
8. The combo I'm looking at trying/buying won't be in stock till mid July so if do sell the Hartke I'm afraid it won't be till then.
9. The combo I'm looking at trying/buying won't be in stock till mid July so if do sell these cabs I'm afraid it won't be till then.
10. Don't let other over produced, dynamically squashed tracks dictate how loud your tracks should be. Have a read this article http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/sep11/articles/loudness.htm
11. Working as an audio engineer at a video games company I have a lovely 5.1 mastering suite to listen to stuff through. I especially enjoy putting on Metallicas 5.1 mixed Black album in there. If using headphones I have a pair of Beyerdynamic 880pros at both work and at home. Mostly headphones at home though as I only have a meager home studio (for now). And with an hour commute to work each day I listen to a lot of music in the car. I can't stand listening to MP3's in the car, the compression artefacts are too noticeable. However it doesn't bother me that much using an ipod and ear buds on the move. Good way to listen to music - I guess I can be a bit of an audiophile so will always prefer listening to music with the best possible equipment/room/scenario I can. Bad way to listen to music - Tiny laptop speakers submerged in bowls of custard and sprinkled with hundreds and thousands whilst putting cream cheese in your ears and sticking your head in a fridge?
12. Hi BC I have a mint condition Line 6 UX2 POD Studio for sale. Comes in original box with all hardware, CDs, cables and manuals. Website blurb: http://uk.line6.com/podstudioux2/ £85 including postage *NOW SOLD*
13. Thanks for the bump buddy. II think I'm best selling the covers with the cabs, but maybe the new owner will sell them.
14. Hi buddy Thanks for the offer but I'm after a cash sale only I'm afraid.
15.
These things are the business. I've had a lot of more complicated amps (including two Hartke HA models) that never sounded as good as my LH500, and were nowhere near as loud, and cost more!
Amen, if they made it into a package like the GK MB212 combo I'm looking at replacing it with I'd be made up.
16. Will consider splitting if I can get a definite buyer for each.
17. Welcome buddy Awesome track.
18. These are now definitely for sale. I've just bought a new combo so I'm recouping the cost by selling my current rig. I have 2 very light weight Gallien Krueger Neo 112-II cabs I bought off of whynot 10 months ago. Both weigh about 34 lbs and are rated at 300 watts each. These are the biamped horn version if you have a GK head that supports it. If not the horns have independant volume controls on the back. Great, loud and clear tone from these cabs and so kind to the back. They both come with roqsolid covers although one of them does have a very small split which was there when I got them (a bit of gaffa is holding it nicely). They have been gigged a fair bit but are in very good condition and no issues whatsoever. Website blurb: http://www.gallien-k...ducts/cabinets/ Looking for £400 for both collected (not really looking on splitting them) or can arrange postage for £440 The Hartke LH500 head is also for sale here http://basschat.co.u...r-hartke-lh500/
19. This is now definitely for sale. I've just bought a new combo so I'm recouping the cost by selling my current rig. First off is my Hartke LH500 head. Good condition but has a few scratches from being housed in rack cases, lived all it's time with me in a rack case (not included). I upgraded the pre amp valve to a JJ ECC803s about 6 months ago which gave it a lot more headroom for a cleaner tone. Comes with the manual and the original valve. Very loud, very reliable, very nice. Here's the website blurb: http://www.samsontec...plifiers/lh500/ Looking for £200 collected or £210 posted The GK Neo cabs are also for sale here http://basschat.co.u...neo-112-ii-x-2/
20. When's good for you? It'll have to be a Sunday as I gig every Saturday but I'm easy.
