Well, after months of searching I finally found the Fender Mexican Jazz V in Midnight Wine I was looking for. I came so very close to buying the same bass in sunburst but at the last minute this beauty turned up on Gumtree so I got up at 6am and drove to Stoke this morning to pick it up. Apparently the guy had bought it over a year ago to learn but only took it out of it's case half a dozen times. Apart from two very minor dinks on the back it is in mint condition and still has the plastic cover on the pickguard. It also came with a Gator hardcase, spare set of strings, unused Levy's strap and a Peavey mirco bass amp. The action needs a lot of love and it seriously needs a re-string but other than that it's awesome. And how much did I pay for all of that? Just £300, well under my budget so it's off to the pro for a setup and MOT. Now i just need to decide whether to go with a matt black pickguard or a white pearloid one? Happy Valhalalf

I really like them. Swapped a Jazz set in my old Squier VM bass and they sounded lovely. I'm going to get a mexican Jazz V and fit a J5 at the neck and a 40TWX at the bridge then couple it with a BQC system at 18v.
That's what's in it now.
Good choice

I use one of these heads and love the simplicity of it. I recommend swapping the pre amp valve out for a JJ ECC803S

S'up B'Chatters I've have decided to sell my lovely G&L L-2500 tribute bass. I think everyone knows about these basses so I'll bypass the 'blurb' bit. I bought this back in June from Jellyfish and it is a beauty but I really miss playing a jazz body. This is the original post - http://basschat.co.u...ge__hl__tribute It's in the same condition as I bought it and bar a few of the usual surface scratches it is in great condition I'm looking to get what I paid for it so I'm asking [s]£375[/s] Now £350 (hardcase not included) Trade wise I'm looking for a 5 string jazz (Pref MIM or similiar) http://basschat.co.u...-5-string-jazz/ I can post it out via courier for £10 extra and will take super care in packaging or can meet within a reasonable distance Or you're more than welcome to come over and have a coffee and a play first through my rig Cheers Alfie

You beat me to it BigRedX This charity event is being put on by my wife and she's put a lot of hard work into it. Sadly I'm gigging in Devon on Saturday and can't be there but I know it's gonna be amazing. Hope the Terrortones enjoy it mate
