it feels to me that there are almost 2 schools of thought here. When i learnt modes i was taught that the different modes were the same scale i.e same notes played from a different starting point. It certainly seems that other people have the same thought. However, when the major talks about using modes he is introducing different notes from the original scale. This certainly sounds that it has the potential to add more flavour to your improvisation. However i am now really confused.
For me i am currently in the process of learning all the notes on the fingerboard so i have a much better understanding of all the notes in a scale as opposed to knowing the shape and leading from the root. Any suggestion for getting to grips with learning fingerboard would be great.
i was the previous owner, i must say i have a hankering for this back but no funds or bike will prevent me. Best of luck with the sale Phil, the new owner will be very happy!!!!
Hi All
new ACG, rosewood top, zebrano strip with walnut body, single pick ups, zebrano fingerboard, neck ebony, maple, bubinga and wenge. My compliments to Alan a beautifully made instrument. Single pickups with ACG pre. So much variety of tone, 35" scale alloy side dots and no radius.

We all know and love the classic vibe for its budget quality and classic jazz sound. I am selling my 4 week old classic vibe. About 2 hrs play time, full set up with Rotosound Jazz flats. Looking for £250 or near offer. Ideally like to meet up but would consider shipping if need be. Based near Cambridge but travel to Huntingdon every day

Hi All,
i have had this advertised before but hasn't gone yet. I have now decided to drop the price to see if i can get any interest. The is natural ash with maple finger board. It has been played but is in excellent condition and plays like a dream. Lovely fast neck with some "mojo" big and powerful sound that cuts through the mix every time. The bass will come with a hard case. I am looking for £700.

dia tonic triads moving up the finger board uses all the fingers on left and right hand, think of the bass line to IQ, you can use in varoius different grooves and intervals.

i like the laklands a lot but just out of my price range, so looks like it may have to be an american, the only draw back is that i don't really like any of the colours,,,,,,,,,,,decisions decisions!!!!!!
Hi All,
looking for a bit of guidance, i have now decided that i am a jazz man through and through. I am going to be looking at replacing my music man in the near future with a jazz . I have found a new american standard Jazz for £799, however i have also spent some time looking at the fender jap jazz basses @ Guitar Emporium, i have narrowed this down to the 62 reissue with american vintage pick ups coming in at £759, would need to buy a heard case as don't get one. This is bringing the price up to a very simialr level. One advatage of the jap is the number of clours that are available.
Now to the question, which one is going to be the better bass and give me the best value for money against performance and re sale.
look forward to your responses
Cheers Nathan
