Why?

my pedal line up (in signal chain order) is a follows: Boss TU-3 (tuner) Wren & Cuff Pickle Pie B (bass fuzz) EBS Multidrive (overdrive) EBS Multicomp (compressor) - always on! EBS Octabass (bass octaver) EBS MultiChorus (mass chorus) - gets used on 'Don't Stop Believin' for that 70's/80's bass sound I don't have any wack pedals that do wierd stuff cos I don't play that sort of music, there are those on here who have loads of fx on their board, but they do play that sort of music...
  5.
It's safe, just turn down if you get clipping or bad sounds
yep
  6. I've just added a piece cut from an old cot mattress and it sounds perfect!
  7. um, sorry, you missed it mate, it gone, sorry!
  8. Isn't it all over those fancy Fender pickups, the Samarium-Cobalt ones?
  9.
Are you sitting comfortably?....... Long, long ago...... I was contacted by exiled Geordie Alan Rogan (Guitar tech for The Who among others) who told me Pino Palladino was seeking a Precision bass in order to change direction after becoming aware that his fretless sound was being cloned in quite a few recordings at the time. Being based dahn sarf it was felt he would be paying a premium for a decent bass in the likes of Denmark Street and that better bargains could be had up North. That was true then (pre-internet and all) so I was asked to track down a pre-CBS bass as I had my finger on the pulse as far as North-east basses were concerned and had already done deals with Alan involving early Fenders so he knew I would be able to find the right piece. Sure enough, I found THAT one - a fiesta red re-fin, all hardware original and priced it at £450.00 IIRC. After speaking to Pino directly, it was parcelled up and sent to him after I re-strung it with La Bella flats. This was in the belief that he would be going for the 'old school' sound and those strings were best suited to a 60s Precision. It turned out that Pino changed to rounds pretty quickly but then reported a few days later that he thought I was right after all and put the flats back on. The rest, as they say....... Quite proud of the connection, but it's ironic that, being retired now, I couldn't even afford one of the tribute models based on the one we dealt.
That's fab (kinda sad about the parting-shot though!) I love stories like this! The 'backstage music biz' is full of this kind of real-ness!
  10. Here we go... Some tiny, unnamed, unmemorable, 'wasp in a bottle' farty 1x6 pointless fart-box combo that came with my first bass Marshall-Park 1x15 Combo (my first half decent amp, I loved that thing until I tried to gig it at which point I needed something bigger!) Marshall head (a real nice first big rig but a little too big for the car with the 2x15!) Marshall DBS 2x15 [I learned a lot about how to play inbetween these two amps!] Hartke HA3500 (Loved the sound until I heard the Eden stuff!) Hartke 4.5XL x2 Eden WTB800-B (Loved the sound - way too big and way too heavy though, nearly smashed one of my little boys feet when the head fell on him so it had to go!) Eden 210XLT Eden 410XLT Phil Jones Bass SixPack (Sounded good - bloody heavy for the size though! lacked a bit of valvey sparkle for me though) Genz Shuttle 9.0 (Sonic Nirvana! - light too) 2x Epifani UL112
  11. a stunning piece of work! Congratulations matey!!
  12.
You're just a teensy bit biased
He is right though ;-) Brian G at Epifani has really looked after me too so I can say they're great too!
  13. I've heard really good things about the rest of the VM range so I can't imagine this one being a dud but I'd look for someone who's got one to chip in here...
  14.
i would also checkout the Line6 DL4 Delay Modeler.
Hhmmm, I do have one of those for electric guitar 6 string noises and it's great for that, I rather fancied something cheaper and simpler that did proper analog rather than simulated like the line 6 which, while ok, still isn't quite the same...
  15. Well pleased for you matey! hopefully Jon will be able to sort something out without you having to send it back what with you having finally got your mitts on it! In this modern age of sounds with clouds in them could we have some initial noodlings to demonstrate it's sonic majesty as well as some pics?
  16.
update................ It will be with me tomorrow.
So that's today then? It's today now isn't it?
Is it there yet? Is it there yet? Is it there yet? Is it there yet? We're waiting with baited breath!!
What shizznit said!
