Will it loosen or is it seized? If seized try dribbling a little wd40 in there being careful with the finish? Worked on a mex j I had once... if not seized...

just did a postal trade with Mike P for J and all went very smoothly, he was very patient while I had a minor breakdown due to having too many things to do in too little time and we got it all sorted out very happily. cheers matey

it's working for me which makes me wonder if it's a fixable thing for you maybe? have you tried deleting the internet history, cookies etc?

if you need any guinea pigs for your straps I'm sure discreet and I could happily road test one each another really really useful touch would be to have an option to make the strapbutton holes big enough to install schaller straplocking ends without havng to cut into the reinforcement!
