Ashdown amp I bought was knackered. Bust power transistors in it. No wonder he wanted to meet me in Portsmouth high street without either seeing it or testing it first. Foolishly I trusted him and had my fingers burnt.... Avoid like the plague.
I'm based in Portsmouth, shall post pictures of the cabs tomorrow. I've been quite busy recently haven't had time to put any up.
Ah ha, The Wayward Wanderer returns !! If any of this gear is anything like the Ashdown amp you sold me.. then it'll be a complete lemon. Avoid. No wonder you wanted to meet me in Portsmouth high street, without me seeing or testing it. Just a shame I was so utterly gullible. -
Status Graphite bolt-on headless neck
Yes, very rare indeed. I think that's actually from a series 3000/4000. They were the ones with the bolt on graphite neck atached to a composite body. That's an early serial number, too. What happened to the rest of the bass? Best of luck with the sale.
All I know is that the rest of the bass (well.... body anyway) got damaged, I was given the bits by an old mate ages ago with a view to maybe building something out of it. Still got a little box with the electronics and pickups in it... I may well get round to putting these up on here at some point. Not long moved house and I just ain't got the time to spend figuring out what goes where! -
One brand spanking new copy of Tetsuo Sakurai's solo CD "Gentle Hearts". It's as rare as rocking horse sh*t as they say... and expensive to boot... check out the link if you want to import a copy.... Thankfully I have one here in the UK.... Still in it's cellophane wrapper unopened. Features Greg Howe and Dennis Chambers. Cheers, Faron. £20. One status neck, taken from an old Series 1000 (don't quote me on that though). Serial #199, I'm assuming it's the usual 33.8" scale length that Status do... measures roughly 17" from 0-12th fret anyway. Slight damage to the very end of the neck, as you may be able to see from the pic... a bit of a chunk out of the resin but no issues with playability etc. Make a nice little addition to a project bass or something similar. It looks to me that it can handle single, double and normal strings via a set of hex screws at the headless end. Can post if you like or pickup from Kilburn, North Yorkshire. Cheers, Faron.

It was in my "recommended for you" list. Obviously Youtube think I'm a kinky pervert. They know me too well !

Completely off topic (ish) but my first week at university.... I drank a pint made up of 1/4 vodka, 1/4 martini, 1/4 taboo and 1/4 mirage. I vomited 45 mintues later. Happy days !
did think about it...but, no times are changing for me. I do wonder why the other chap seemed intent on ruining my sale with the 'any colour new for £200 more' comment. He obviously wasn't interested anyway. Somebody also did this to a thread i started for an amp, which sold a day later...maybe it's boredom? I hope he tries to make a sale soon, then i can take a pop... Anyhow folks, i've had an offer, but it was awholly unrealistic £750. Bumpity bump.
It wasn't about ruining your sale at all... I wouldn't dream of it. It's just that secondhand Bongos have been selling around the £700-£800 mark for a while now. I don't think the guy offering £750 was being unrealistic at all... say when you drive a brand new car off the forecourt, you lose 30% !!! Best of luck anyway, never tried one myself but might get round to buying one after I've moved house.

Is this the one that I saw hung in Bandland in Stockton on Tees ??

Is there any way I can alter my personal defaults? Or am I stuck with having to go into advanced search every time ?

I knew there was a thread about vocal mics in here somewhere.... so I type in vocal mics (the exact title of the thread) expecting it to be top of the list. Oh no... it's fourth... what was top ? A thread entitled "Bassists Cars" ! WTF !!

I must admit, I hate trying basses in music shops. Crap guitar setup with an amp you daren't turn up past 2 without getting snarling glances from the sales guy... you can picture the scene I'm sure. I've always fancied borrowing a bass from fellow bass chatters within the local area for the weekend just to get an idea of what it's really like. Anyone fancy swapping a Musicman Bongo for a Vigier Passion for the weekend ?
