1. for a classical piece you have chosen a standard cello piece good luck with it!!
 2.
What do you know... It's a fairly old post now but I posted a wanted notice for an Aphex Punch Factory pedal a couple of months back. Then, 2 came up for sale here in the last week (a bit like buses) and I missed both. Would it be an idea that fellow users check the "Wanted" section on the BC forum before posting a For Sale notice? Just a thought?
its tough i just keep browsing the for sales each day for that elusive jazz
 3. playing a 5 string is really a 4 string with some additional low notes you can get low E on a 4 or fret it on a 5 then go down to open B on the 5 i had the 5 purely for fretted E and down to D it cost me around 25% more for strings each time and the B wasnt wornt out .. now i just think i ought to get better on the 4 and dream of my departed stingray
 4. chrome can thin out...its just a coating i would laquer after getting the shine back solvol autosol does aluminium and most metals plating is a different story so go easy
 5. your zero fret has a bit of a groove in it so it sets the height and position of the string the nut must be a bit superfluous and i dont think gluing it would be bad superglue...?? i cant comment but epoxy will do it in about 24 hours
Yep, definitely a Mexican standard series 2003 model. Also definitely not worth £400. He ought to have tried starting at £200.
well taking off the little combo which is 100 new say 50 s/hand allowing for the gig bag at 20 would give 330 for the bass i googled them at 330 new but now i really want to check if its a 'real' mim bass
 7. you need time to get used to a bass unless its one you are playing and are doing an A/B as for price comparison versus playability look to see why the price is high could be nothing to do with your ability to play...or lack of it and the comment on the amp played through etc nothing sounds like a recording studio except a recording studio...
I think they changed the neck finish some time in the past. I played a maple/maple standard Jazz yesterday and it felt identical to my MIM Jazz (with a maple/maple mighty mite neck). The original neck on my (2001 model) bass is glossy, now I think it's a satin finish. Also the new necks feel a little thicker but I might be wrong on that. Some colours seem to be worth more than others. There's also the 60s classic and the 70s reissues which are also worth more.
good!! and thanks...i can now see what this one is ....etc cheers

 15.
I think I'd be inclined to open up the cabs and let them stand somewhere dry and well ventilated for a couple of days. Give them a good inspection to make sure there's no rot. I don't know if the drivers would need breaking in again if they're already well used - some people do break in drivers by running a 30Hz signal through them at low power (enough to make cone movement visible) but NOT with the cabinet closed, i.e. do it as though they're in free air. Once you're sure they're dry and intact it may just be a case of using them very carefully at first and gradually turning up the level over a few hours of playing.
all that...mainly i think get rid of all the effects of the old atmosphere do you have a de humidifier..

 20.
Mine is the Music man stingray. Mainly cos flea uses it and it looks the best!
the most favourite was my stingray 5 now sold if i could..and i can financially ..but not justify a stingray 4...thats what i would have i am looking at a mim jazz as i do like the jazz sound
 21.
Thanks for the replies guys, have to put my hands up here and admit to the old operator error.... Hadn't wound the string round the post properly when restringing, and slackening and redoing it properly seems to have cured the problem. Thanks for the baking soda and superglue trick though, never heard of that so I've learned two new things today! Thanks again, Axel
i have always throught an A washer was in order on fenders
 22.
I believe that stringsdirect do, too. Naturally, same applies for the Elixir "B" string as above
yes they do i got a B TI jazz round from them when i switched from 4 to 5 having a set for the 4 in my stock
 23. i wouldnt try...you may not get all the edges next to the frets clean mucking around with the strings on just makes the job harder
 24.
oh right, i see...what if ur a plecky player? I'm most comfortable if I can rest my hand on the cover and play in the same way James Jamerson did (but without the virtuosity)
i wasnt most comfortable and i beg to bollocks...differ.. if it suits you fine but its money for bangles
