With reference to the soapbars, are you sure you're not confusing the srx500 with the SR500 Either model is plenty good enough, though the SR is arguably the better all-rounder than the srx.
yes..i see the soapbar one is a .... a 15" combo with compressor and 7 band eq
-
fender P settings are 1/8" from underside E to pole when fretting last fret and similarly for the G...slightly less...1 7/16" you dont go closer but you can err on the higher side you dont want your strings to hit the pups...and if you whack the strings you may have to drop the pups accordingly which blackburn are you in....lancs or west lothian...or neither...i know them both
Yes its still for Sale, I dont know if its a silver series, I read somewhere they they were not all marked. But I dont want to sell it as anything that it is not so all I can tell you its made in japan, and according to the serial number dater it makes it 90s production. There is part of me that thinks maybe I should keep it because it is a nice bass, but otoh I dont play my jo osbourne as much as it deserves because I just prefer the feel of a precision neck.
mega bump for nige

you can see what they look like i had them and didnt think they made much difference but then i like to change around and not everyone does these intonation setting may be more accurate since its just cores sitting on the saddles not imho worth paying extra for
Looks like I might be coming in to some money soon, and seen as I haven't bought a bass in 5 years I've been considering indulging myself with a lovely high end bass, but as I'm very very picky about my basses (2 pickups, no exposed poles, 24 frets, the list goes on) there's only a select few production ones I've seen I actually like, so I've been thinking about a custom. My question is how much do custom's usually run for? Had a look round the shuker website and there's no pricing information but I love the look of his stuff and I know he's very well regarded round these parts, Ideally I'd be looking to spend £1000
the shuker 51P custom which i have was £950 new jon had a 'fender' jazz at around £695 but i see its gone both the above are well made and finished thougthful designs in traditional woods with modern neck technology and enhanced bridge and tuners
I was going to do the squash balls between slabs trick for my hi-fi when I was at uni. Never got round to getting the squash balls so it just ended up a hi-fi sitting on two paving slabs... I think it could work ok for lightweight bass cabs. Or some PlatFoam - more on that later... Alex
a light in the tunnel...
Heh- those blue sponge squares are an attractive addition to any audiophile's listening room. concrete blocks - great idea but you are obviously entirely mad.
you cannot be serious the block goes under the speaker...not in it... if you frequent a venue...leave it behind the bar or in the piano
-
the parallel wiring of the mm is a follow up of two single coils being brought together to a place where the original 'sound' was mantiained ie the jazz developed into a single humbucking pup with poles picking up the same area my 2006 stingray was ok on the bass end with the 3 band standard preamp...my combo isnt very bass happy though
I have one of these in Transluscent Black, 2nd bass I ever bought, great bass for the money even to this day! The EQ is quite musical and the bass itself is super comfortable to play. You might be onto a bargain! Danny
game on danny...i can now increase bidding if necessary with confidence many thanks if i get it then my shuker 51P can be sold
I would be wary. Jap Fenders are great but dont get like me and think that everything that`s made in Japan is gonna be good. About 2 years ago I paid £117 for a Joodee P type bass and was well chuffed until I got it and it sounded like sh*t! Put it into the local luthier and he had never heard of the make and couldn`t get it to sound any better unless I spent a few bob on it. And it had the cheek to say "for profesional use" on the headstock. Wibble wibble Jez
its a puzzlement
