1. it looks like a true jazz body... the neck is how i like it 2/2 tuners the bridge reminds me of badazz havent a clue..
 2. it either falls into the category of 'relic' on which i would pass or a collectable piece i couldnt value it but see it as an open market auction piece... see what its worth in the states and apply our rip off conversion rates..nothing to do with forex..and that might give an idea of its worth or look here http://www.vintageandrareguitars.com/web/o...asses/item/4082 i suspect a touch over £2000 might get some takers...

 4.
Dialling in the bridge pup gives a nice articulation to the sound that pleases my Jazzophile ears. :brow: If I didn't already have one I'd be buying this.
bump..

 7. getting more out of a pickup means getting a hotter one or turning up the gain on the amp i never went along with overwound pups..preferring good tone which could be amplified bartolini

 11.
It's very light, actually. Previous owner had the string the wrong way round on the tuner - these pictures were taken just after I got it. He also thought the bass was broken when in fact all it needed was a new pre-amp battery.
thanks sean a bump for this beauty...i am between the rock and a hard place... best of luck

 13.
<snip> no P**S taking im a new bass player and only started playing 18 months ago at the age of 43, see you can teach an old dog new tricks. thanks guys any help info would be appreciated
no problems from me...i started bass in 1991 when i was 48...now i am 66 so the older the fiddle the better the tune....erm groove had a look at those classic vibe models online and see they at least have a decent bridge my tip is to try one in the shop and check the joint between neck and body that its a tight fit and then look over the paint and rest of the bass if its ok i would suggest haggling for it based on internet prices as a bird in the hand ....they can vary in quality
 14. many have endorsed them...and many like me wont use them again but for a freebie shot...endorse them anyway...and so you get to learn about them free it took me around 4 sets to go off them..the flats as well but i am a TI man so i am biased
 15. electronic keyboard which is programmed for lots of different tones and sounds ours has clapping and hurricane noises we use ours to add string sounds and occassionally flute etc some of the sounds are naff clarinet and sax especially...i play both and my skin crawls when i hear the sounds better for electric piano, jazz piano, honky tonk and mainline keyboard effects you can change pitch by just pressing a button very versatile and goes lower than a 4 string thats why 5 strings were used by session bassists originally to get lower than the synths..iirc
 16.
I have this great Ibanez ATK (Made in Korea). It's a mahogany body with a figured maple top and has the J pup as well as the great 3-coil ATK pup. Anyone that knows these will atest to how damn good they are. I just don't play it any more. This has been readvertised due to me having been given duff information originally about the year of manufacture and the original buyer was specifically after a 1995 ATK. Thanks to some super detective work by kdphysio we now have the real history of this instrument. The ATK 400 was introduced in 2001 and was made until 2003, the serial number is W9109xx, which means 'world' factory (newest Korean factory), September (9) 2001 (1) and it was no. 9xx made of that month. Up for sale at £250
is that model very heavy? i like the headstock arrangement...and erm...you have the D string the wrong way round on the peg...i think be watching this one and a big bump from me cheers

 18.
I have noticed an ergonomic thing happening to me when I stand and play, and I wonder if I'm alone on this or if others identify with me and have solved it in someway. Since playing five and six string bass, I have found myself hunching over the neck to see the finger board better. I've just tried (as a temporary experiment) wedging a piece of foam between my waist and the back of the bass body, and low and behold everything is tilting up at me and I don't need to hunch. So, does anyone else experience this and do luthiers ever make compensations in body profile for it? Or have I had too much coffee and am seeing an issue that no one else is bothered about?
i do that as well with a 5 and a flattish fretboard curve i hadnt thought of packing it out but sounds like a good idea i had thought of changing the strap fixing position to tilt the bass a bit going back to a 4 so i am hoping that will improve my 'sight' reading
