i used Musikding yes, great prices :-) I do think i might have bitten to much off doing the Ginger as a first build project though :-( I have power etc (Led, switch n jacks work) but all i get is horrid static sounds? volume and gain work but no sounds ,just static buzz?. ive checked the components to the list/diagram i have and solder joints ......... all appear good (to me that is)?? doing my nut in a bit tbh ...........any ideas, anyone done the ginger? cheers
The Ginger is a serious build for a first attempt! As mentioned it could be any one of a hundred things. Unfortunately remotely debugging something like this is extremely tricky. I'm planning building of these myself when I've finished my 3BOD build... And after payday! By the way danbowskill, is that a 125B or 1590B enclosure?

I think they have a new album out. Saw a review of it somewhere the other day...
IIRC that gives a 12dB/octave rolloff for both HPF and LPF - you can simply cascade two identical filters to give a 24dB/octave roll-off which might be better, at least for the HPF if you're looking at thump elimination.
Yup, there's a thumpinator right there! The filter responses for that circuit aren't ideal, but close enough for the purpose.
I had a Monique Preamp - it was fantastic. I sold it when I realised that the exquisite tone was wasted in band conditions my co-workers being drummers, guitarists and keyboarders
Always a risk that. Just enough to keep them (and the punters?) happy is one way to think about it, but does that satisfy you? I've only ever played with one guy (a drummer oddly enough) who payed more than a passing interest in my sound, but the problem was he then always insisted I kept things the same. So if I brought a different bass he'd throw a strop, added some nice effects, same thing.

Just sold my COG Terminator pedal to Eddie. Great buyer. Would deal with him again without question.
How can they make the preamp look so boutique, but the integrated amp so cheap? Obviously stand-alone is easier to tart up than rack mount, but still...
I wouldn't say cheap... but I know what you mean. Utilitarian would be how I'd describe it.

Apologies for the rushed nature of this - just hacked a few old schematics I had together to give you the gist of the thing... The 11k+Vr2 and 5.6k+Vr1 are a standard resistor in series (therefore setting the minimum value) with one half of a ganged/stereo pot as each filter needs 2 values to be changed equally at the same time. Just need to tack a volume control on the end somewhere to cut the added volume down. Or not if you've got something appropriate next in the chain to do it for you. Edit: Oh and the Broughton just uses a TL074 quad opamp.
You've got the L+HPF? How are you finding it? Yes, yes please I would love to see a schematic for it Thank you so much!
No don't have one, just been following the breadcrumbs! It's 2 Sallen-Key filters in series, probably preceded by a buffer stage and followed with a volume control. A bit of simulation with standard ganged-pot, resistor and cap values plugged into an equal component filter design gets VERY close to the cutoff frequencies that Azure Skies quotes. He's added a volume control as the design has inherent gain (as-in volume boost not distortion). I'll draw up something very quickly
ahhh I thought that was what their "juicy blue" overdrive was based on . Iv'e just started my first build (ROG ginger)....soldering the board was not as hard as i thought ,quite therapeutic ....i can understand getting the bug :-). different story with wiring the footswitch ,jacks, power and led :-D , There was no diagrams for that part so i winged it a little (n balls'd it up) i didn't put a resistor to the LED. gave up and ordered an easy connector board for the footswitch. pics soon.
The Ginger is also on "ze list"... As is the Fairfield Barbershop (should have most of the bits for it lying around!). Looking forward to your Ginger pics. Did you use the board from Musikding?
Funnily, I'd spotted his posts too whilst looking for an HPF. I've a schematic for the Rolls SX21(I think) Crossover that Billy Sheehan uses. Could possibly doctor one of those, or even the Fdeck HPF also discussed on TB. The other option is something like the Focus pedal from VFE.
Spent a wee while looking at the Boughton L+HPF and think I have the circuit figured out if you're interested dood. Could draw it up for you. Will be adding one to my own "to do" list! Speaking of my "to do" list, it doesn't seem to be getting any shorter... And just to add to it I've ordered a Mad Professor Blueberry clone kit from Pedalparts. No intention of building the Mad Professor version but it's a good starting point for the bearfoot or bjfe version. A few part omissions and a bit of inventive wiring will do the business!

Lee responded to 2 of my wanted ads, but he was just pipped at the post for one of them. I bought Lee's 3Leaf PWNZOR and it arrived toot sweet and in great condition. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.
A new toy arrived from a certain Mr Dave Hall yesterday and got added to my nano+ It now sits on taller feet to accomodate my Trex Chameleon. To be safe the DHA uses 2 outlets at 12VDC with a current doubler cable (green).
What's the khyber pass pedal Twigman?
So I actually emailed Diamond about the idea, this was their response: "There's certainly been interest from bassists regarding a smaller version of the bass comp. It would be a little trickier to do as some of the caps used in the bass comp don't currently have a direct surface mount equivalent that we could use to save space however we may dig into this after we finish some other projects we're working on and see what we can come up with. Thanks for emailing and sharing your input!"
See that sort of response really boils my piss... If they'd put 10% more in upfront they'd have 2 products, not 1.
That's a compact version of the guitar pedal - if they made the bass equivalent though I'd definitely be interested! The PWNZOR's been discontinued right?
Yes the PWNZOR was discontinued some time ago. Just been listening to sound clips of the diamond BCP1, specifically at the differences in the eq settings and there's not much in it really. The tilt eq is only for flavour and doesn't have a huge range of boost/cut. Would be easily modded to the bass setting for someone with a steady hand!

I've just noticed there's a Diamond comp Jr. Smaller enclosure, North facing jacks, normal 9v supply ready. I've got a 3Leaf PWNZOR incoming or I'd probably have opted for one of these.

Now £100 I've recently sourced a 3Leaf Enabler (again! This is my 3rd!), so my Phil Jones Bighead is for sale as a result. As you can see from the pics it took a tumble off the kitchen table and face is a little marked (the volume knob is scuffed and one corner is dinged, only cosmetic and price adjusted accordingly!). Otherwise perfect. Battery holding a charge really well and can be charged with a standard micro-USB phone charger. I've been using this with the PJB headphones and they sound fantastic together. Boxed with all leads, drawstring pouch, etc. Shipping included inside UK.
