1. And the cheaper Les Paul... hedging my bets. Probably prefer it since it doesn't have a bound neck and is a little less bling.
2. In for the 75 and the dearer Les Paul as well. See what happens!
3.
Thanks for that though I'm not really sure what you mean. Do you mean a higher voltage capacitor?
Yes, caps have a voltage rating. It's possible the cap in question is underrated, or it may point to a fault down the line causing the voltage across the cap to be higher than it was rated for. A decent tech should be able to tell you what's going on.
4.
Just put a 75 through checkout 2 minutes ago. Fingers crossed. Still waiting for a 50's P and a Shorty P to turn up again...
Computer says no...
5.
How about a little update to finish the year L-R: 1971 Fender Precision (34") Maruszczyk Jake custom (33") Fodera Matt Garrison Standard (33") Fender Japan Jazz (32") Si
Oh come now, there's 14 days left in the year!
6.
4 string progger for anyone...? 7. It's maybe not rated to a high enough voltage. You could try replacing it with a higher voltage one.
8. These are fantastic sounding headphones. I use them with a PJB Bighead and they sound IMMENSE!
9. There was somebody looking a thunderbird in the wanted section. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/275059-grecoorvilleburnyother-mij-thunderbird/page__pid__2930167#entry2930167 Lovely looking bass by the way!
10.
Excellent looking boards as usual! Not much has changed for me but I've reacquired a Whammy for lead playing on top of loops. I'm looking at grabbing a Boomerang III (and perhaps a BeatBuddy) sometime next year to expand some ideas I've been working on....
Nice board! What's the pedal on the top left feeding the ditto?
11.
Bet your back was relieved, though!
Yeah, probably weighed about the same as the Peavey 8x10 I used to have... Still have the odd twinge in my lower back over that one!
12. This is all making me very nostalgic... doesn't help that I missed a 300w 4x10 SMX combo about 5 miles away last week by 20 minutes... for £150...
13. Yeah mismatch is probably too strong a description I know, but they're not an ideal pairing like the identical TKS cabs (but for the tweeter!). Interesting to hear the differences in the 2 cabs and I know what you mean about hard to describe - it's like telling people how 2 different brands of chocolate differ in taste!
14.
Do they have a standard Fender-sized bell plate?
No idea. I'll have to measure and see. Enjoying playing it too much to be too bothered by it at the minute!
15. When I left my first band the guy that replaced me used one and it was loud enough at full tilt to keep up with a reasonably animalistic drummer and 2 50w guitar combos, no lie. It was the 80 watt version. I really liked the sound of it actually. More focused and punchy than whatever I was using at the time. Would like to get hold of one myself! If I remember correctly the 130 watt version had a horn pasted on as an afterthought...
16. Not really an ideal comparison as your Barefaced stack is a mismatch. On that basis alone I'd keep the TKS stuff if I were you (or sell everything except the BB2 and buy another BB2). I'd be interested to hear your thoughts of how the BB2 stacks up against the 1126 (i.e. single cab comparison, not the stack).
17. I wish they'd do a passive only version - I don't use the preamp, and have no plans to!
18. The M7 looks like it could be interesting too. Nice candy apple red coming to the V7 in February as well. I had queried whether they would ever make a p-bass via pm on Facebook and they confirmed they planned to, but they had no idea of when it would happen. Still loving my Sire v7 5 string... I'm a little worried that my incoming ACG custom is going to be so totally different that I'll have some trouble adapting!
19. Sly Stone at a time too. Bobby Vega is proof, if proof was needed, that pick playing can be awesome!
20. Yup... missed the 50s P again, even with a notification that the site had changed...
21. Down to £20 at the minute! Great wee bit of kit.
22. I think Bassman Steve has it about right. If it's for playing you don't need to spend big money. Best P I've played (and in my estimation the best bass I've ever had in my grubby mitts) was a refinished '64 that belongs to a friend (lets say roughly £3k, £3.5k conservatively). 2nd best was a used/abused '83 Squier SQ I bought locally for £100...
23. One word... Maruszczyk!
24. The Rascal bass looks really good. Would love to take one for a spin!
25. Wow, that is stunning!
