1. Any interest in a Fender Active P bass Special Deluxe plus cash? Or a 33" scale ACG Graft Recurve 5 plus cash? Would like an RBV in my life again (didn't you get my last one, many moons ago?).
 2. I think all that video proves is that you can't really decide until you play them yourself. They both sound good to me. There's a split second IN PASSING where the 3leaf IS as fat sounding as the oc2 which makes me think there could have been more of an attempt to make them sound alike, and the -2 octave on the oc2 is brought into play at one point, which makes comparison difficult since the 3leaf doesn't do it. If I didn't have a COG fuzz/octave combo due I'd be tempted to try the 3leaf. Tom's octave has similar sound shaping options to the 3leaf, but without the switching flexibility as standard - something Tom could rectify in a custom build no doubt.
 3. My Retro 2x10 should be finished this week so may have it for Christmas break!
 4.
In hindsight, I think that the phosphor bronze strings that came stock on it sound fine. The Fender flatwounds are a bit more mellow, but lack a bit of the presence (may be misusing the word) that the phosphors have. The phosphors don't have that horrible twangy sound that many acoustic basses have, it's a nice warm sound. But, I really dislike string noise, so the flatwounds are definitely staying on. The buzz is worse with the flatwounds on. It's now showing up particularly on the A on the 'second fret' of the top G string, and the B of the A string. This indicates a neck that is too straight, I believe. I've taken a quarter turn out of the truss rod as of a couple of hours ago. Still buzzing. I'll check again tomorrow. I must admit that I still think that the nut is cut too deep, but will try adjusting the truss rod further first. I can see some relief in the neck, I believe. I suspect that adding enough relief to cure the buzz will give me too high an action further up the neck, but I'll see. I still haven't tried the plugged in sound. i put a battery in it, and the tuner works fine and has an easy to read display. It's better than I expected a built-in tuner to be. I've no idea what the 'phase' button is supposed to do. EDIT: Ah, phase buttons are common on electro-acoustics. My Ovation six string doesn't have one. They invert the phase of the electric output. If the bass was being both DI'd and mic'd up at the same time, the distance of the mic from the body might mean that the two signals are out of phase, and hitting the phase button might give a better sound with less objectionable comb filtering.
Nothing to do with your nut. Once you 'fret' a note, the nut depth has zero bearing. If the open string was buzzing that would point to a low nut slot.
 5.
How cool! ? http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2014/12/glow-tables-by-mike-warren/
Some builders are bound to be pretty open to doing this sort of thing. When you consider that some top woods need epoxy filled to be viable for use anyway (buckeye burl is one I've seen this done on) it's not that big a departure...
 6.
On paper, your thinking is ok, and the reason why 115 and 210 was a good mix was because the power ratings were around the same at 300w per cab. But..as others have said, this may not work with your models so best to get advice or try them first.
What's this!? JTUK in "first non-derogatory post on a Barefaced thread in ages" shocker! Edit to add: ;-)
 7. Yeah! Saves me posting a pic when mine arrives! I still will of course...
 8. Having trouble resisting that You're Doom... If it's still around next pay day...

 10.
But then you have to ask yourself...Why didn't you pay in fool (sic)...??? You should have paid in full IMO... I think your (sic) toasted now... IMO, IME.... Frank....??? Frank
Been on the vino tonight Frank?
 11.
Have you guys waiting paid in full for these or just deposits?
Deposit.
 12. I've no idea what the deal with tolex is - as I say my conversation with Alex this week is the first time tolex was mentioned. Barefaced website certainly doesn't mention it. I've no idea whether it'll be available across the range. I'd doubt it myself, at least not without a significant upcharge based on my own tolexing experiences! Horrible job! Having said that I much prefer Tolex to that tuffcab (or whatever it's called) which reminds me of the cheap PV PA my old cover band used to use, but I would have lived with it...
 13.
As a 3 man operation (recently down to 2 due to illness) and suffering growing pains (moving premises) and introduction of new technology (CNC) what is there to not understand? These are not off the shelf products. Order a bass and you could be looking at a lead time of years from the good luthiers.
All of that really. I've had contact from Alex and, while I'm not overly happy that I haven't been kept informed, I'm satisfied that he's not making up excuses or sitting on his hands. Something else I found out, and another partial cause of the delay, is that these cabs are to be tolexed. News to me, but not unwelcome.
 14. Current production queue may be 1-2 months on cabs already in production, but the 2*10 hasn't got that far from what I can gather from the VERY limited communication I've had from Alex/Barefaced. As I've mentioned somewhere here before I'm supposed to be 1st in the queue for this cab, but if somebody at Barefaced doesn't start answering emails soon I'll be looking for an alternative...
 15.
I figure you must have this by now? If so, any review or pics?
Nope. No communication from Barefaced since 22nd September either. Emailed Alex on Monday and still waiting for a reply. It's starting to get beyond a joke now...
 16. Sorry, just noticed the cab says 4 ohm in the pics... hadn't had the morning cuppa earlier!
 17. Bad timing! Major wantage, but just bought a Walkabout head... Is this the 4 or 8 ohm version?
 18. Just checked there - cracking deals (not affiliated with Andertons in any way!).
 19. Nice little rig. As a matter of interest, where did you buy?
 20.
Here's mine, No124 58, Jazz neck. It's a wonderful Bass and I couldn't be any happier with it. Sadly, If my Warwick doesn't sell then this might have to go.
Hubba hubba! Want!
 21.
Where did you find one Fodera in our neck of the woods, never mind three of them?
The Gallery. Not many Foderas round these parts right enough Michael, but then if you'd asked me where the nearest Dingwall was a few years ago, Ahoghill wouldn't have been high on the list either, so you never know!
 22. I've played 3 Foderas. 2 I wouldn't have given tuppence for. The 3rd was without doubt the finest bass I've ever had hands on. The fact it cost the same as my car didn't matter. If I'd had the funds (4 grand second hand) I'd have bought it on the spot. A truly religious experience. I left the shop reeling, literally speechless. In answer to whether they're worth it I could only say... possibly...
 23.
Thanks for your thoughts guys. The amp in question is a silver face, probably a 2006 model I believe. Cheers.
If you're selling (and not selling this very minute!) I'd be VERY interested...
