1.
why the hurt? you have yours, I have mine, and we're allowed to disagree
True, but then why the little laughing emoticon? It's belittling...
2.
Have you tried a classic, ok there not worth the money but I don't really care but they are really nice basses.
Nope. Unlikely to either I'm afraid, since my ATK scratches my MM itch just fine. I can personally think of better basses (for me, imho and ymmv) to spend 2k on
3.
Not at all, informed pre eb fans know all about the different pre amps available and longer pickup pole pieces, three bolt necks, thru body stringing etc hence why I said 1979 onwards rather than earlier, the fit finish, neck, hardware, sound and feel on my classic five is better than any atk and so it should for over two thousand pounds
Glad you got what you paid for. We'll have to agree to disagree I think...
4.
Having never played an ATK, I have no opinion. However, I reckon this discussion would go down a treat on the Ernie Ball forum
I'd be tarred and feathered over there...
5. By the same token all the pre-EB fanboys must also be in the wrong then... Regardless, having tried an ATK back-to-back with 2 Stingrays, the ATK (ATK300 - the lowest in the range at the time) wiped the floor with the 'Rays in EVERY regard at just over a third of the price. I've owned 4 EBMMs over the past 15 years so it's not an uninformed opinion.
6.
So the ATK sounds more Stingray-like than a "modern" Stingray? Sure thing I love the ATK (pity about the ugly headstock, but everything else is beautiful and sounds great) but... more Stingray than a Stingray? Then again, some people say the G&L L2000 can sound like a Stingray (which it doesn't, at all, ever )
Shame on me for having an opinion...
7. I always recommend it, but reading your description I think it'd be a perfect fit - Ashdown James Lomenzo Hyperdrive. Only downside is it's a little on the big side... Hyperdrive Demo With James LoMenzo: http://youtu.be/aQDSDA929Sw
8. Hands-up whose prymaxe orders have ever been nailed for customs?
9.
The ATK is great. Sounds more like a Stingray than most modern Stingrays
Fixed that for you there...
10. Save your money and buy an Ibanez ATK instead... I have my flame retardant suit on so flame away.

Stunningly beautiful instrument. Wish I had the reddies...
12. So sorry you have to sell this beauty mate. Wish I could take it off your hands... Mike's a star folks.
13. Does it play nice with active basses and other pedals is the question - the mammoth doesn't by all accounts, but the mastotron, which is a similar circuit, has an input impedance control to handle actives.
14. As a matter of interest, are the knobs included, and if so are they the modern or vintage style? Ta!
15. String it with flats. Learn some Jamerson...
16. Just saw a pic of a black one on Bassdirect's FB page... Nurse, hide the credit card!
17. Bought a Westfield P about 5 years ago for £20... Solid wee bass. Chucked the mother-of-toilet seat pickguard and bought a mint one from someone here for a tenner. Stuck a SD QP in it I had sitting around. It sits at my mates/sometime guitarists house ready for my next visit.
18.
Hi Alec, Mark at Limelight has a stripped 1963 Precision for sale at £2495 - nice price. Factor in a white refin and I reckon that's reasonably priced! http://www.classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/basses/1963fenderprecision.htm
Yummy!
19. Sorry to see this - I've lusted after both your ACGs, but alas I'm currently potless... Good luck!
20. Has ANYONE seen a black one yet? Conflicting info whether it will be gloss or matt finish...
21. I find myself strangely drawn to this model despite: 1). Not particularly liking the available colours 2). Not particularly liking the pickup arrangement 3). Not particularly liking any Darkglass pedal I've owned 4). Thinking a whipper snapper like Nolly Getgood has no right having a signature bass considering he's really a glorified guitar player... 5). Recently deciding I was sticking to 4 strings... Despite all this, my credit card feels in mortal peril...
22. Your wish is my command! PM me your email.
23. ...and it may be some time. One of Alex's 3 staff is hospitalized after a serious (non-work related!) injury... Hope the guy is ok. I'm in no hurry for my cab and I'd factored some delay into the wait for the premises move anyway, so I'm happy enough to wait.
