Current production queue may be 1-2 months on cabs already in production, but the 2*10 hasn't got that far from what I can gather from the VERY limited communication I've had from Alex/Barefaced. As I've mentioned somewhere here before I'm supposed to be 1st in the queue for this cab, but if somebody at Barefaced doesn't start answering emails soon I'll be looking for an alternative...
I figure you must have this by now? If so, any review or pics?
Nope. No communication from Barefaced since 22nd September either. Emailed Alex on Monday and still waiting for a reply. It's starting to get beyond a joke now...

Just checked there - cracking deals (not affiliated with Andertons in any way!).

Nice little rig. As a matter of interest, where did you buy?
Here's mine, No124 58, Jazz neck. It's a wonderful Bass and I couldn't be any happier with it. Sadly, If my Warwick doesn't sell then this might have to go.
Hubba hubba! Want!
Where did you find one Fodera in our neck of the woods, never mind three of them?
The Gallery. Not many Foderas round these parts right enough Michael, but then if you'd asked me where the nearest Dingwall was a few years ago, Ahoghill wouldn't have been high on the list either, so you never know!
-
I've played 3 Foderas. 2 I wouldn't have given tuppence for. The 3rd was without doubt the finest bass I've ever had hands on. The fact it cost the same as my car didn't matter. If I'd had the funds (4 grand second hand) I'd have bought it on the spot. A truly religious experience. I left the shop reeling, literally speechless. In answer to whether they're worth it I could only say... possibly...
Thanks for your thoughts guys. The amp in question is a silver face, probably a 2006 model I believe. Cheers.
If you're selling (and not selling this very minute!) I'd be VERY interested...
They seem to have an odd product development strategy. Same as the 69er one when it was launched. Most normal companies will create a prototype and take some pictures of it - or maybe a few prototypes and send 'em to reviewers etc. This lot appear to create an imaginary product, ask people to buy it in theory ..... even when they haven't designed parts like the grill. And then, make you wait much longer than you thought for delivery. I saw someone on here saying that this is what you expect for custom builds ........ but this isn't a custom build is it? Baffling (sic).
I think mostly they're in a hurry to get product out the door rather than take pictures of it, and always have been as I recall. They're busy enough carrying on the way they are, so I can't see it changing any time soon.
What Ohm rating did you order? The 12 Ohm or the 4 Ohm?
Haven't specified that yet - and I haven't actually decided yet! I'm thinking 4 ohm at the minute - my volume war days are over so I doubt I'll want a 2nd one (famous last words!). I'm thinking this and a Mesa Walkabout will be my rig for a while, if I can find one! Haven't yet specified the grill I want either, but it'll probably be the vintage option.
Just joshing. I can't see it being anything other than brilliant.
It had crossed my mind though!
-
Surely your only concern is that you don't like it and want your money back?
You're quite right discreet. On paper it sounds like my perfect small cab, but I guess we'll see!
-
My only concern is that it arrives and I like it so much I want a second one!
-
You could have somebody box up your onboard preamp of choice. Sadowsky, Aguilar, EMG... Or any 9v pedal design you fancy... The world is your mollusc of choice...

U2 were... OK. The interview was embarrassing to watch. Didn't "get" Slaves at all, or Interpol for that matter. Never really heard Sam Smith before (I live under a rock it would seem) - liked him a lot. Also liked Zola Jesus... as long as I wasn't watching her... which was a surprise. Haven't watched Jools in forever. What's with all the moody lighting going on?
It's weird to add a product to your product range so many months before you're ready to actually ship it though IMO. Most companies do (most of) their R&D first, then their marketing, but then I guess with some niche products the waiting is part of the marketing strategy. Not meaning to be snarky as I've no beef with Barefaced or any other manufacturer, I just find it puzzling, that's all
Not puzzling at all. The cab was supposed to be finished in July, which would be roughly in line with or quicker than their usual completion time but Barefaced have had a hellish few months, so delays were inevitable, but not for the reasons you've mentioned. Alex knows his beans, despite what a few naysayers on here would have you believe. The R&D phase for this cab would be minimal in comparison to something like their BB2 or BT2 - it's 1/3 of another cab their building. Get the volume of the enclosure right, model the crossover in software, sort out your cut list for the CNC and Bob's your uncle (or grandfather in my case!). On one hand I've no need for the cab any time soon, so I'm happy to wait... On the other hand...
-
I'm assuming this is very much the R&D phase for this cab. I'd expect once the first is out, normal waiting times would apply.
-
Contemplating what to drive mine with when it (eventually) does arrive... Aguilar TH350 is winning at the minute, but if a Mesa Walkabout was to come up at the right money I might give that a blast!
Any update on this?
Nope...
Check link from site Ordering and Availability
That page states that the first of the Retro 10 cabs have gone out, but I suspect that it's the 6x10 that refers to. As yet I've had no further update with regards the 2x10... and I'm first in the queue for that one...
Hi Gareth, I’m after an envelope filter myself. Do you think the EBS Bass IQ keeps the low end well? I’m after a very subtle sweep on top of my sound really, and was wondering if that’s something you can control with the Threshold knob. Cheers mate
Sounds like you need something with a clean blend...
