1. Very nice! Always liked Nino's basses.
 2. I can imagine - a friend has had a refin'd '64 p bass. He's owned it since 68. It's just about the best thing I've ever layed hands on... Really like the 1200, but I think your 2024 is sex on a stick. It'd probably be my choice of the 2 if I had the beer coupons available...
 3. 2 cracking Yamahas you have mate. I'd find it difficult to choose between them myself!
 4.
Yes, with a mono cable in the fx loop it behaves as return only, so can be used as a secondary input. But as stated above, you'll have little control over the mix. FWIW, I leave the EBS pedal on all the time with an ABY pedal in the dirty loop. This way I can take advantage of the built in compression and anything in the clean loop, then kick the drive side in when needed with the ABY pedal.
The great man himself does something similar I believe. He also uses a Roles crossover in his dirty loop to return only 250-300hz and upwards from the dirty loop, also has another sig pedal in his CLEAN loop (chicken and egg?) to make it a little dirty too.
The final pedal that i have made is my "Iron Man" pedal, kind of got on a bit of a theme after the hulk pedal! This is one of the simpler ones that i have made and is a Civil war big muff with a couple of mods, one to make it more bass friendly and another to remove the mid scoop from it. This is a dark sounding fuzz and I'm still learning what sounds i can get out of it but so far it is pretty good if not a bit bass heavy!! These are all the pedals I've made so far, promised the girlfriend i won't make anymore for the time being! although I'm tempted by possibly a modified rat.. Live the artwork on this. Wish I had the time at the minute to get back building... Have a muff kit ready to go...
 6.
Oooooh. Photos as soon as she lands please!
Will do sir, though I'd imagine it'll look similar to their other cabs!
 7. There are none in the wild yet... Yours truelly is due to receive the first one some time this month...
 8. Good choice. Nice basses those.
 9. Keep an eye on the other items for sale section here. Buy replacement pickups used and if they don't suit you, sell them again.
 10. For what it's worth if I was to get a Limelight bass I'd insist on the rear-of-headstock signature being done on the front instead. Who gives a fiddlers anyway...
 11. Further update - Marks says he CAN get an extra pickup installed. Backup plan of LPB or Burgundy Mist (with matching headstock of course!) might come in to play if I go ahead, as sunburst is a bit of a problem... Also inquired about early 50s style p bass builds and they're possible too.
 12. Same boat here! If I hadn't just bought a Graft Recurve 5 this thread would already be closed...
 13.
Entirely agree! Just playing devil's advocate. The more I look at these the more interested I become. I've wanted a Fender Roadworn P for a while after having a positive experience with the Jazz version, but think I'd rather have one of these. Especially if they'd be up for putting a second p pickup nearer the bridge like ezbass did with his Roadworn a few years back...
So they won't route for extra pickups and would have to source a sunburst body from somewhere as they don't spray 'burst finishes... Must really want one, cos now I'm disappointed!!! Sunburst isn't the end of the world, and I suppose I could bust out my dad's router and do the bridge pickup myself if it came to it... Still mighty interested!
 14. I have to say if I was buying a soldering iron for this purpose I'd buy a gas powered one like the portasol pro piezo. More powerful and controllable than any electric iron I've used costing less than £200. I'm an electronic engineer by trade too and I've used pretty much everything, Weller, Antex, Metcal (have one of these on long term loan and it's splendid) - best I've used is the one our place has at the minute who's name escapes me. But I know it's north of £300. Gas irons are very handy bits of kit, just be careful which way the heater port (on the side near the tip) is pointed when working in tight spaces like a control cavity, near plastic parts or guitar finishes...
 15.
You may have to wait a little while for a reply - Mark's away until the 24th, so probably will have a backlog of emails...
Yes just got his 'out of office' reply!
 16.
I'm quite sure that could be arranged. My Jazz is being despatched on the 24th so I'm all agog and waiting with bated trousers. Review and sound files pending...
Excellent! I may go and crack an email off to discuss possibilities...
 17.
True again, but the back of the headstock will also have Mark's Limelight serial number written on it with a Sharpie, so it's all about what it looks like from the front in my humble opinion.
Entirely agree! Just playing devil's advocate. The more I look at these the more interested I become. I've wanted a Fender Roadworn P for a while after having a positive experience with the Jazz version, but think I'd rather have one of these. 18.
Hipshot do 'lollipop' tuners. The 'HB2 Lollypop', I believe.
Also true... But they'll have hipshot visibly stamped on them. Depends how precious you are about the relic idea I suppose!
 19.
He may have a problem getting the "lollipop" tuners too, to complete the look. They seem pretty rare...
But since they'll be reliced anyway you could grind the top edge of a clover leaf tuner down to get the look right. Someone put a link up here recently to someone doing just that.
 20. No need to apologise - I made a cheeky bid and didn't think it would be anywhere near enough, but only got pipped by a fiver in the end! Listing only finished on 14th so your friend didn't have it long at all (convinced it's the same bass http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=111375383069&globalID=EBAY-GB&alt=web), but some basses just don't 'fit' you, and you just know it as soon as you pick them up! Health to enjoy - I'm sure it's a cracker!
 21. These appeared in the '84 ESP catalogue - looked it up while researching the two that have been on eBay recently (this looks like one of them - marks on the lower bit look the same, missing knows, same flaming pattern, same neck pocket gap on treble side). Jealous - I should have bid a little higher on it! Really nice looking bass.
 22.
Yeah, sherwood green, it's my main bass just now.
Rightly so!
