The clear out continues! Here we have my Indonesian- made 55-02 Deluxe. Unfortunately this rather lovely bass doesn't get the attention it deserves - I'm not playing much these days (busy job and 2 kids under 2 1/2), and when I do I reach for my u-bass. Sunburst, quilted maple top, rosewood board, Lakland pickups and LH3 preamp. It's in really good condition. The only flaws worth mentioning, apart from minor swirling and a few uncapturable little scratches, are a little dent on the edge of the fretboard (see pictures), and 2 manufacturing faults - the fret slot next to the dent has had some filling from what looks like an errant saw cut while slotting the board, and while buffing, the finish around the neck bolts has worn through. As I say, tiny faults but I like to be as accurate as possible in my ads. I don't currently have a hard case for the bass but will source one for shipping purposes at the asking price of £700 uk shipping included. If you're happy to have the bass shipped sans case with the neck off then we can knock some off that. I would add that I'm prepared to take a ferry journey to hand deliver the bass to Stranraer, Carnryan or Troon for the asking price for any Scottish Basschatters that may be interested. Only items I'm looking for in trade are octave pedals, a POD x3 or an iPad Air/mini with retina display and cash my way. WoT, as a matter of interest have you ever tried the Orange Terror? Having tried the Orange and the Genz side by side I much preferred the Orange, but I'd be interested to hear how the WA would sit in that company. I've been talking myself out of a WA for years...

I built a Dumble clone guitar amp for my brother's 30th birthday a few years back. Took me twice as long to build the cab as it did to build the amp, and longer again to get the vinyl on it. Your 'effort' looks FAR superior to mine (which I'm not going to show after seeing yours!), although I think it was my shoddy woodworking that let me down rather than my present wrapping skills! Having said that the amp sounds AMAZING so the slightly 'homebrew' look doesn't bother anybody who plays it, in the same way what may be perceived as a 'cottage industry' feel to barefaced's finishing doesn't bother me at all.

Once again a barefaced cab thread becomes a farce... In other news I've just placed my floating deposit from my cancelled BB2 order on the new 2x10 as sounds like my ideal small cab. First in the queue and I'll hold on to my Orange Terror a while longer...

Billy Sheehan Signature Drive pedal alternatives?

Both the EBS Sheehan and J-lo pedals are based on a bandpass filtered (state-variable filter) and modified tube screamer with a blend tacked on the end for adding the clean signal back in. Apparently they don't sound much alike, but then just look how many different modified tubescreamer designs our guitar playing cousins have the choice of - surely they can't all sound the same... Err... -

You won't find many pros so willing to give away the details of their rigs. The fact he's interested in the finer workings of his gear is refreshing from a gear-head's perspective too! And if I gigged as much as Billy Sheehan I'd want to make sure my gear was rock solid too! Anybody else get the impression Mr Kotzen is trying a little too hard to sound like Chris Cornell, or is it just me?

Might sound daft but try the 3leaf GR2 Goran. A lot of people seem to prefer it! The original GR1 and the newer proton are worth a look too. Don't give up! They sound too good!
