1.
Loving that Bass thanks Ian, using it much more than the ABII and getting quite used to Whalepool Blue! Up in your neck of the woods again this March playing Newry on 21st and Belfast Empire on 22nd. If you fancy coming along I'll put your name on the door for a couple of tickets!
Doubt we'll make it mate - we're having 3 days away in early March so that'll probably be all the babysitting credits used up for a wee while! I'll keep you posted though... Glad you're enjoying the AB1. As I said before if you're ever selling it I'd like first refusal. If I ever get back to regular gigging I'll definitely have another Dingwall.
 2.
AFTER BURNERS I & II
Miss that blue beasty from time to time. Hope she's settling in well Graham!
 3.
You wouldn't have to do much to improve an Orange Terror. . .
That's cork-sniffing bs if you ask me... No offence intended but it's the perfect amp for many situations/people. Having owned Aguilar and Thunderfunk I returned to my trusty ABM, which the Terror justs edges for me. Saying that I'd like a rattle at this Demeter... Or the Jule Monique and separate Minnie power amp would probably be more me come to think of it.
 4. Yeah it's all imho innit. The huge bottom of the Streamliner may have worked with a cab other than mine, but just didn't work for me. Admittedly I never used the DI on my OTB. Just an external DI and a mic on my 4*12 when we were gigging with PA support. It'd be boring if we were all the same so just thought I'd throw the Orange into the mix.
 5. Lovely! One of the Foderas I've tried was simply awesome. The other 2 were entirely forgettable, but I couldn't say why. I'd love to try more, but I think my bank manager might have a stroke...
 6. Really good idea. Can hear the complaints already about it not being secure enough on one shoulder to do a single trip from the car with your whole rig though... Not from me I might add!
 7. With those 2 on your list you should also consider the Orange Terror 500 or 1000. Some say they're a 1 trick pony, but it's a brilliant trick! Blew the Streamliner I tried out of the water in every way imho. Never tried a th500 unfortunately.
 8. Keith Urban and Brad Paisley are on regular rotation here. Darius Rucker's Charleston SC album is worth a listen for the sublime Michael Rhodes alone. I ocassionally swerve into Rascal Flatts territory too, but there's a lot of filler there if you ask me...
 9.
Looks like they'll be around $500... [cynic] which probably means £500 over here. [/cynic] http://en.audiofanzine.com/bass-guitar-amp-head/bugera/bv1001t/news/a.play,n.17538.html
Which is more than a used Streamliner...
 10.
Consider the CTM-15 is like £370 ....... so with the 10" cab i can't see it will be less then £400. Around £500 ish i reckon.
I wouldn't bet on that just yet - look at the difference in price between the lb30 and the drophead 30! If it's made in China you'll be close. If it's made in the UK you're not...
 11.
Exactly how do you bridge all the channels. Pic please?
It's the same way as guitards have been bridging the channels on their plexis for decades. Look at the mpa preamp pic. Plug into top left input, run a little effects hookup cable from the top right input to the input diagonally below it. Continue ad infinitum... Really can't wait for mine to arrive now! Like a bit of grind I does...
 12.
I'm bound to agree now that I've [s]lumbered myself with[/s] invested in an old, heavy amp. I owned a Markbass Little Mark for a while and used it with a VT Bass which sounded good - but it just didn't have the big bounce. My Carvin B2000 is really great for a hybrid amp and it does have heft - but not as much as my new (old) valve amp.
Really glad you've posted your experiences with your Burman stuff. It's prompted me to try the same setup. Transaction ongoing as I type!
 13. My experience - going from an Ashdown ABM to an Orange Terror Bass. I only ever played the Ashdown with the valve all the way on, eq off, preshape on, gain up til it gets dirty when I dig in. Orange did this sound no bother and much, MUCH louder and punchier than my ABMs. It's a one trick pony, but what a trick! Never played any ABM cabs except the 1*10 in my ABM combo. All this is based on using the amps with an aggie gs112 and Tech Soundsystems 4*12.
 14.
A drophead 2x12 is where its at. I would buy one in an instant! My LB212 is my favorite cab, that I have ever owned, and I have had lots of different stuff. It has cellar deep lows, very quick, punchy and tight, mids and highs are also good. Everything keeps up too I have put 250 watts into it and everything keeps up, it doesnt fart out or get middy, and for it rating its very loud. It what I use most of the time. The 12s they use are a great balance fast and have a great lows, mid and high, response. trouble is I cant buy another one ......
Keep up! I sold mine on here just before Christmas!
 15. Just be careful the valves haven't been glued/siliconed in place.... Seen that before now...
 16. I experienced exactly the same thing with a Duracell in my Shuker 6 I used to have (EMG pickups), although mine was more a static crackle that came and went. A valuable lesson learned - change the battery first!
 17.
Yepp, that is true. I found out, that the CTM15 dont like high output active basses. I play a Music Man Reflex with high output and the CTM15 with gain full ccw. With only a litte bit of gain the sound goes more middle and treble way... With no gain and master, there is a little hum, but not dramatically. On page 7 at the manual are the info, that it is a "Automatic BIAS for Plug&Play Easy Valve Replacement"... I dont know exactly, what the preamp valve do for a job.: Is the only 12ax7 (on pic "V1") valve a phase inverter? It seemed, that the preamp is SS, not tube driven... Or what?
The opamps on the right of the first picture would certainly suggest that the ctm15 isn't all valve... That's a bit naughty, but I'll reserve judgement til I play one. Wouldn't put me off too much, especially with the drophead 15 looking so damn cute. More likely to be put off by the 10" speaker! Also confused/intrigued by the unused valve spot...
 18.
Here both rigs I use.
Hubba hubba...
