1. Just sold Jon an octave pedal. Smooth transaction all around. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.
 2.
Lovely idea for a thread. Still missed.
Big +1
 3. Pains me to see all this stuff sitting around unused, and as I’m hoping to have Alan @ ACG build me a rather nice bass, I’m having a rather large clearout. Happy to discuss prices (within reason) and group items to save on shipping of course. Pictures will be forthcoming! More items to be added over next few days including quite a few valve amp parts, including an old amp chassis that might interest somebody. Digidesign MBox 2 with ProTools 7.4LE and Ignition Pack 2 - £60 posted Akai MPK Mini, absolutely brand new in unopened box - £50 posted Korg Monotron – cool little noisemaking pocket sized synth - £20 posted ***SOLD*** EHX Headphone Amp – handy little job with belt clip, sounds much better than the price would suggest, especially with a good set of headphones - £20 posted Bartolini 9W5, coil per string humbucking jazz pickups (67mm neck, 70mm bridge string spacing) in used but functional condition, some string marking – sound lovely! - £75 posted Behringer MA400 Monitor Headphone Amp – new in blister pack - £12 posted ***SOLD*** Yamaha RX11 ‘vintage’ drum machine “Digital Rhythm Programmer” - £50 posted Kevin O’Connor “The Ultimate Tone” Valve amp Books, Volumes 1, 3 and 5, virtually new - £30 posted each
 4. Lots of FX items for sale! Pains me to see all this stuff sitting around unused, and as I’m hoping to have Alan @ ACG build me a rather nice bass, I’m having a rather large clearout. Effects here, a few basses, a digidesign audio interface, keyboard, headphone amps, pickups, valve amp books and loads of valve amp parts will be added to other sections of the marketplace over the coming days – even a 3g dongle/router/homeplug network set in the non-music section. Happy to discuss prices (within reason) and group items to save on shipping of course. Pictures will be forthcoming! Everything here in good to 'as new' condition. Seymour Duncan Double Back Compressor. Nice, clean sounding unit with an interesting set of features - £60 posted Chord BOD-50 - Boss ODB3 overdrive clone. It’s an ODB3 in different clothes! - £20 posted (also have the Monte Allums mod kit for this/ODB3 modification, unused inc instruction sheet. Just never got around to it! - £15 posted) Chord OC-50 - Boss OC2 octave clone – tracks REALLY well! Classic analogue octave sounds for buttons - £25 posted ***SOLD!*** EHX Octave Multiplexer – different flavour of analogue octave with a filter controls for more tonal variety. Doesn’t track quite as well as the Chord pedal, but I think it sounds better myself. Plays very nicely with the Micro Q-tron in low pass mode for synthy goodness - £40 posted ***SOLD*** EHX Micro Q-tron – very nice, cheap filter - £35 posted ***SOLD*** Harley Benton BEQ-1 - Boss GEB7 graphic eq clone, does exactly what it says on the tin - £15 posted Artec SE-PEQ – single band parametric eq, bought as a cheap alternative to the EWS BMC this is a nice little tone fixer - £15 posted ***SOLD*** Johnson J-Station – been with me a long time. Beat the original guitar PODs into a cocked hat and has some really nice bass amp emulations on it as well. Still sounds good! - £35 posted
 5. Tempting but I'll pass. I'm still waiting for payment for the bass you agreed to buy on 27th September and haven't heard a word since, so won't consider dealing with you again on that basis.
 6. Mooer flanger has left the building. May do a deal with a Zoom MS60B for what's left, although considering withdrawing the Wonderlove, it's that good...
 7. Duncan doubleback compressor for sale. Great clean sounding unit with a pretty unique set of features at this price. Bongomania's rather positive review is here I'll get some pics up later. Very good condition, but no box or instructions I'm afraid. £65 posted or trade for a Zoom MS60B
 8. Anyone else notice there aren't as many for sale in the marketplace recently? Maybe people are starting to appreciate them...
 9. Is there no way to allow users to bump their own ads/restrict thread replies to the thread starter?
 10.
You realise I could ask you the same question..? It's not how I use it either. But it's been noted, and it'll be fixed at some point. If it ruins your BC experience, that's a shame. But I don't think it does.
No point arguing about it. It would seem a common sense approach is too labour intensive - perhaps I don't understand the moderators roll fully. Surely if a moderator has teeth there's nothing to fix?
 11.
Do you have to pay to place a wanted ad?
No, but that's not what I have issue with. What's so hard to understand? The way the moderators assume people use the wanted section isn't how I, or it would seem quite a few people, use it.
 12.
I wasn't aware that you had to pay a fee to use the Marketplace. I thought you had to pay a fee if you wanted to be a Seller. If you're a Buyer or merely a Browser, AFAIK nothing at all has changed.
Wrong. The wanted section has changed. The explanation being the way unscrupulous forumites have been using the section is unfair to those who've paid to sell here. Keep up sir!
 13.
I know. Frustrating, isn't it? Thanks for bearing with it, though. It'll be resolved at some point.
Yeah... Looks like I haven't much option!
 14.
And... can you use the marketplace?
Not the way I used to... Ironically it's the free section of the marketplace I have an issue with.
 15.
In fairness you are only paying to use the service to advertise goods just like you do on ebay or Gumtree or whatever and there rules have to be obeyed whether we like them or not so why should it be any different for basschat?
Rules I don't have a problem with... When they make sense!
 16.
Paid up to do what, exactly?
To use the marketplace.
 17.
Why is it robbed of usefulness? I don't understand that. It's easily searchable.
That's just it. My own experience tells me that the wanted section is best when you don't have to search. I know that most times I've seen a wanted ad I responded to it was because it just happened to be on the screen in front of me. If somebody wants something I'm not using, I'll respond. I'll not necessarily start a for sale thread, especially for smaller items that aren't getting in the way.
And let's be honest - none of these problems is anything other than 'slightly irritating'. It's a great forum.
That's as may be, but as I'm paid up I don't like being told "we're doing this for your good" when I don't see it that way, or necessarily agree. Not in my name you don't!
 18.
How do you mean?
Just the impression threads like this (and their subject matter) leave me with. Moderation has basically robbed the 'wanted' section of all usefulness, while we wait for some sort of magic software solution to the trying to sell for free problem. My preferred solution would be thread deletion when problems arise, rather than swinging a sledge hammer at a small nut. You can't tell me that the problem was so huge that the moderators were being deluged by dodgy ads. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate everything you guys do for the site, I just think you're wrong this time.
 19. This place is turning into talkbass by degrees...
 20. The only thing wrong with the bongo design is the chipped headstock feature... Had 2, a 5 then a 4. Both HH. Unfortunately they didn't click for me, not sure why. I wouldn't put anyone off trying them, that's for sure. A damn shame people aren't more open minded.
