Have you tried the Ashdown Lomenzo Hyperdrive? Similar concept minus the compression and fx loops.

The guy on TB had Seymour Duncan custom build one for him (Dimarzio weren't interested in doing it). His conclusion was that it sounded like ass and that it was almost unuseable as it was so much louder than the other pickups on the bass.

What's the black one? Afaik Squire haven't released a maple/black cv, although I could be wrong, it's happened in the past... I think it was on a Tuesday...
