1. I'm assuming powering a speaker is an afterthought. The pandora mini covers everything else i think. Just ordered one myself actually!
2. Recently sold my Shuker 6 string to Andy. Communications were excellent and payment was swift. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.
3. Bank transfer and ship item same day if possible. Clean and quick. Never had much trouble with transactions, except how well some items have been packed that I've received...
4.
Great idea! You'd have to find time to make a few of them though, I bet a lot of people on here would be after one too
A Mashdown Posidrive clone project perhaps.. You've got the cogs turning this cold morning Chris!
5.
Nice Don't see Hyperdrives on pedalboards often cause they're so massive
Yeah - if i ever get the time I'll reverse engineer it and build a miniature version!!!
6. 1st iteration. A few changes planned. DIY octave and fuzz to go in, synth probably coming out. Also may replace the qtron with a DIY meatball clone if i could ever get around to finishing anything!!! Artec para eq only there as a placeholder in the meantime.
7. Confirms something I've known for a long time - Pino is THE MAN!!! Edit: Oh yeah and Carrie.... Hubba, hubba!
8. That combo is the very one i have. That's a bargain price, but it would be asking an awful lot of a single ten inch speaker to be honest. I found combining my combo with an extension cab made a potent little rig though. I used mine with an Aguilar 1x12 and it sounded brilliant, and both combined would come in under your budget (aguilar gs112 cabs appear for sale here quite regularly).
9. If it were me I'd seriously consider a used Orange Terror Bass 500/first series Ashdown ABM (when they were still called the Klystron Magnifier) and a used cab (my preference in that price range would be a Peavey TX410, but there are dozens you could choose from). The Orange has the best basic tone of any amp I've tried so if you're not a fidler then it would be a good one and bloody LOUD!!! Some criticize it for having a lack of tonal range, but if that bothers you get an EQ pedal on the cheap and you're laughing. The Ashdown has a similar basic tone to my ears (at least the way I use it!) but can be tweaked a little more. In head format it's heavier than the Orange and I've never found mine to be anywhere near as loud as the power rating suggests, but it's more than adequate for most gigs. Cheaper than the Orange and available in multiple combo formats too. Just my tuppence worth... I've never tried a Hartke that I can recall, but the LH500 gets a good name.
10. Those q-trons are AWESOME. Best sounding filter i tried on my quest, but space on my board (and the wall wart PSU) was a problem unfortunately...
11. Interested in any other cabs Chris?

13. I may live to regret this, but I have too many basses, not enough time to play them and have spent too much on gear this year so something has got to go! For sale is my Shuker 6 string. Original build thread is here: http://basschat.co.u...__1#entry290859 Great sounding bass. Thunderous, piano like tone with a B string to match. Growls like nobody's business. I would imagine it would be hard to hide in a mix. I had it built to give that growly Warwick sound (hence lots of Wenge!) and it certainly achieved that. 35" scale. Wide string spacing with further adjustment available. Red side LEDs with switch on pickup cavity cover. Gotoh machines. EMG soapbar pickups. Simple VVT controls (but loads of room in the control cavity to add the preamp of your choice). Brass nut. Beautiful birdseye maple board, no fret markers. Jumbo frets. Bolt-on wenge neck with satin finish. Thinned wenge body. Quilted maple top, matching headstock facing and playing ramp (marvelous thing!) with dark gloss tigereye finish (difficult to photograph! Changes from Amber to Choc Brown depending on the light). Straplocks. Weight is around the 11.5 to 12lb mark. Bass is in virtually new condition having spent 99.99% of its life either in a case or hanging on my wall. Has a few tiny fingernail scratches in the finish, but nothing that wouldn't polish out (and I can't get them to show up in a photograph). No dents that I can find. Since arriving from the Shuker workshop it has been out of the house just once (and only out of the case for 1 song on that trip!) and has never been gigged. Includes Shuker embossed hard case. Cost in the region of £1800 (plus case). I'd really like £1000 for it. No trades thanks (unless you have a Fender Roscoe Beck V and then we might talk!). I'm based in Northern Ireland but will split postage. Further pictures on request. 14. One of those furry elephant type fuzzes would probably get you close without an octave Jesse
15.
Has anyone tried plugging the bass to the Line Out? I did it by mistake and it worked like an effects return except the Volume control was also bypassed! Certainly this can't be normal? It's like a Line Out and a Line In in one????
No that sounds about right. The connection in the circuit will be from somewhere between the preamp and poweramp and is not one directional so you can use it as a line in to the power amp. The line out will probably be volume control dependent since it's usually after volume control and before power amp, but oddly that'll mean if you insert a signal there, it's after the volume control so it's uneffected by it! Clear as mud, eh?

Tecamp
can't for the life of me think of a reason why anyone would want to move on a tecamp cab, unless they had several cabs. It's wee, it's lightweight, it sounds good- what more do you want?
I'm downsizing to a tecamp 212 combo would be my answer!

Tecamp

Gonna be cheeky and butt in here. If someone fancies a Tech Soundsystems 4x12 (Tecamp's old livery) I'm thinking of letting mine go... Shipping it is my only issue since I'm on the wrong side of the Irish sea for most on here, but willing to get it as far as a Scottish ferry terminal in person for interested parties! Price would be the same as the 'difference' MM20 has already mentioned (plus half a ferry ticket!).
18.
I can't sing and play at ALL, so you're not alone! One or the other
+1
19. Great basses these. Used to have one myself (actually could be this one i suppose).
20. It's a tough question to answer - not all jazz bass cavities are the same dimensions, even Fender ones varied by year of manufacture. Looking at the circuit dimensions i think you'll be ok, but they're not going to say that!
21. Currently enjoying this little rig... (her indoors likes a bit of colour)
