1.
I mean the cars.
I should have turned the brain on there, eh?
2.
Isn't a 550 Spyder also known as the Little Bastard? Someone has a James Dean fixation at Ashdown.
No, that's the all valve 30 watter you're thinking of.
3. As further watching material Elixer strings have a channel on YouTube. They have 4 vids there with John Carruthers going through an in complete setup (including nut slot depth - something I've yet to do on my basses, but is sorely needed, especially my USA P). It's a bit 'one size fits all' but would be a good starting point I think.
4. What are you trying to do when "away"? None of the above will really be useful for reproducing bass at any sort of volume (although that really depends on the size of speakers you plug into in suggestion 2). Smallest I've seen in action is the Roland MicroBass Rx which sounds pretty good but is pricey for what it is. If it's only for personal practice I'd use headphones myself... I did once plug direct into a set of desktop PC speakers, but it sounded like sweet FA and wouldn't go to anything louder than conversational volume without farting out.

Feedback for teamcoy

Sold my 3 leaf proton to Matt. Another great Basschat transaction! Swift payment and great comms. What more could you ask for?!
6. Yeah PG played the super tasty line on the George Michael/Mary J Blige cover of 'As'. Nuff said!
7.
Yeah I was thinkin you'd have to face that problem no matter what. If you were to put it all into a rack, what would that look like? Would jus Be the transmitters in There right? Can't rack the jamhub
I don't mean rack mount per se, more case it all up in a rack. You could mount the jamhub in a rack drawer or in an open-top mixer rack. The rest would basically look like a patch bay (for inputs and outputs, all hardwired to the jamhub inside the rack) and rackmount transmitters i suppose. This would of course be the MacGyver version compared to everybody elses suggestions, but a damn-sight cheaper!

Bongo
Personally out of all neck profiles, I find they go in this order of preference for me: Stingray/Sterling/Bongo P Bass J Bass J bass necks are a little too skinny for me, but I love the sound and aesthestics of a Jazz. Warwick 5 string necks are at the bottom. Euggh.
Flip that list over and that's me! One mans meat and all that!

Bongo

Had 2 (5HH that I traded for a 4HH) but I don't get on with EB necks at all, neither 4 or 5 strings. Everything else about the Bongo was cool. Great sounding basses.
10. The jamhub might be fine without the headphone amp, but until you try it with your headphones of choice it'd be hard to say. The complicated setup will be the same no matter what system you use I think. I can't see how you can simplify it - you're going to want to make it independant of the FOH as you'll never know what you'll be confronted with from one venue/gig to the next - so you probably need to T off everybody's signal before it gets to the PA. How you get the drums in there I'm not so sure, and I'm a big fan of e-drums specifically for this reason. If I were setting up a whole band I'd hardwire the whole shooting match into a rack (including wireless transmitters) to simplify setup anyway.
11. You need a matrix mixer (inputs needed from all instruments and click) where each member of the band has their own channel to fiddle with. Then each member needs their own headphone amp with either hardwired headphone connection (for drummer or other members who are stationary) or wireless in-ear system. The method I'd looked at before was using one of those jamhub practice mixers as the matrix mixer and then (since I don't do wireless) having a custom cable made up with a headphone output and bass input so I was only dragging one cable around. Haven't actually done anything about it though since the band is pretty much dead in the water...
12. That's a cracking tune i that video! Good luck with selling!
13. Resistive pad is definitely worth a try. Wouldn't go ripping out the preamp myself.
14. Hey Sharkey. Have a nosey in the control cavity. I'm not overly familiar with the tonepump pre but unless you can fiddle with frequency centres (which I highly doubt) there should only be one place you can make adjustments and it'll just act like an extra, internal volume control. A bit of terminal screwdriver action and Bob's yer brother in law's sister... EDIT: And I quote "There is an Output Trim Pot on the unit to adjust overall bass output as needed". From spector website.
15. Swedish folk speak better English than most people here...
16. Birth year precision... Not half tempted, but alas I'm brassic...
17. Love Ryan's playing! Mudvayne's music/imagery might not be for everybody, but his ability is unquestionable. Last I read he was awaiting a Warwick Hellborg rig. He had been using Avalon U5's and in-ears, but I think the Avalons weren't holding up too well with the rigours of touring!
18. Up for sale is my recently acquired Status S3000. This one has been through the wars! Original pickups exhibited a strange 'my A string is missing' quality so they've been replaced with EMG J type pickups i had spare (originals included). The neck has one area of damage at the 'headstock' end (pictured) but just outside normal playing area so doesn't annoy thumb position. The body is a little rough in places, with the neck pocket damage being of primary concern. I have glued and clamped the cracks and the pocket is solid.Other than that there are a few knocks and dings, and what seems to be white paint on the edge of the bass at the forearm contour. The good news is that it sounds very nice. Plenty of punch, very loud, zero dead spots. Frets are in tip-top condition. I had an s2000 for a while a few years ago and i'd say this sounds better to my ear - a little more organic than its all graphite sibling. Weight is around the high 9lb mark i would think, but that's a rough guestimate as my scales are varying between 8 and 10.5 using the old weigh yourself with and without method. Original carved-from-granite-esque hard case included (picture showing case is not my bass or case, just showing case style as mine is stowed in the cave under the stairs at present!). Could sell with nice quality Warwick guitar gig bag if you prefer. Still a fair few years of solid gigging in this old girl! Looking £350 plus shipping. May entertain trades especially for amp heads. 19. Hey Sharkey! Get that incoming banjo round to my gaff next time you're home - always fancied a rip on one (assuming it's the aforementioned Spector). You can have a go on my Dingwall while you're at it... get your mind out of the gutter!
20. Asking on the Dingwall forum might be a good idea too.
