  1. Absolutely top notch little combos these. Gigged with one as a stage monitor for a few years and it was plug and play night after night DIed into the FOH.
  2. I like that a lot...

    Joyo Oxford

Joyo's Amazon store is saying 10 in stock @stewblack... 9 now as I've just ordered one myself!
  4. There's a Genz 4x10 in the classifieds for little money. No affiliation with the seller but recently bought 2 of these from @Gareth Hughes of this parish. I've yet to use mine in anger so maybe you can comment G?
  5. Try putting a patch cable in the effects send/return loop. If I recall correctly they suffer from corrosion on the contacts of the jack sockets which could cause something like this.
  6. If you go studio monitors it still won't feel right because the "feel" issue (and oddly the claustrophobia issue too!) will be down to latency. You could try adding a little mixer so you can monitor yourself directly via headphones, rather than having to wait on the return loop from the laptop. I was using a tiny little behringer for this until quite recently. Otherwise nearly ANY used bass practice amp will be an improvement on the guitar amp. I always recommend either the Roland Bass Cube 30 or the Line6 Studio 110.
  7. My recently acquired Vigier Excess 5 string is THE ONE. It amazes me every time I pick it up...
  8. This is a great little pedal. Just received mine earlier in the week. My touch sensor is EXTREMELY frustrating even after a firmware update and setting sensitivity level in Darkglass Suite, but it's excellent in every other respect!
  9. I bought a Squier CV Mustang for our wee fella. It's a great bass that I would frequently play myself... Which is, in truth, why I picked it!
  10. Edit: as has already been suggested! Why go low? It's a headache. Look at bands like VOLA. Tune the bass up to F# and high pass guitars.
  11. Oh man... I wish my tiny brain could handle 6 strings...
  12. Had one of these. The best combo. Period.
  13. Looking for cheaper alternatives... But yeah, it's not the first time! 🤣
  14. Did you guys ever use the link function to play with other folks?
  15. They're Tortex. Says so on them. Beyond that, dunno! Feel like 0.88mm to me...
  16. Nux Mighty Plug and bluetooth from your phone or tablet
  17. Thinning the herd I'm afraid... Drive, compressor, DI. Although it's essentially Dug Pinnick's sound in a box about the size of 2 decks of cards, it's pretty versatile. Pedal is in good condition. No original tin I'm afraid and is supplied with an aftermarket 9v supply. £200 plus postage. Edit: sorry folks, I'm not taking trades at the minute.
  18. Well I broke down and ordered a used Element off Reverb... Sucker for shiny!
  19. Had one. More than I need. Not looking for a multi-fx. Well it does the headphone amp bit, but nothing else... Had one. Suppose it's a possibility... I'll look into that one...
  20. PM me Paul and I'll add you to the queue!
  21. At 300 quid it'd need to! WAY over what I want to be spending...
  22. Hi guys, I'm currently using a little Behringer Xenyx 302 mixer as a glorified headphone amp but I'm looking for something a bit smaller that I can leave hooked up semi-permanently on my pedal board. Any suggestions? As small as possible, run from pedal supply, aux in are all necessities, xlr/jack combo input would be great, volume for each input ideally... Edit: I realise I'm basically describing a Darkglass Element, but I'm looking for something WAY cheaper than that...
  23. Rattle can of nitrocellulose paint, mask off the wear you want to keep and paint away. Bit of a light sand/blend work with VERY light sandpaper. Different colour with wear intact...
  24. The cull commences!
