What about looking out for a tecamp pleasureboard or something similar (see the IEM thread under the Amps section for more about these and a link to a german homebrew alternative). If you're all going IEM then why bother with an amp at all (other than for the reasons you've already mentioned)?
Used IEMs for 1st time at last night's gig. Rest of the band too except for drummer who required regular monitor. Did two practices with them but didn't haven't a good time. Ended up having to stand quite close to amp and just have IEM in one ear. Because of the nature of the gig (wedding do for 250) couldn't whack up the SVT so had to really concentrate. Anyone else using IEMs or are you favouring regular wedges?
I've been looking into IEMs for myself - the rest of the band aren't interested. Just beware of using one. There's quite a bit of evidence from the manufacturers to suggest that this can cause hearing damage, as you tend to run a single one at a higher volume than when you use both. Was it your mix in the IEMs you were having trouble with?
Hi guys, thanks for your responses... Bigwan, got more info on the Stingray? Matt, interested, PM sent WaywardWanderer, cheers but I'll pass on this one Silverfoxnik, thanks for the advice, I'm not 100% about this, it's a great bass, but at this time I'm just looking for something different, I'd like to see what else is out there.
Natural finish, rosewood board. '96. Good nic other than a few knocks right on the end of the headstock. Recently received it in a trade. Loving the Musicman vibe when I play it myself, but it doesn't fit with my band. There's a pic in Nathan's (NJE) porn thread, although I have a black pickguard on it now: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=12332&hl=

DHA VT-1 Compressor Pedal inc. PSU. See review here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6002 New price is £149 without PSU. It's seen a bit of action so some of the 'interesting' paintwork has flaked, but mostly on the bottom. I'd take £85 inc. postage inside UK. Prefer paypal. Cheers Ian Update for pics:

Going new, if it were me in your situation, I'd be heading straight for 2 Aguilar 1x12 cabs (either of the 2 kinds that they do - probably go for the DB112 cabs in tweed and get a matching 2unit case for the amp) and a chrome rack mount Evo III Ashdown ABM 500. Maybe a bit more than your budget, but not by too much. Otherwise there's an Ampeg BSP preamp, saoundtech 802 poweramp and tech soundsystems 4x10 in the for sale section. That'd be mighty rig!

Not a bad find that... I bought an '83 Wal Custom for 500-nicker a few years ago. That was a pretty good find too...

Older ABM combos and cabs had the nylon grill.

Just received Nathans (NJE) Stingray in a trade for my Roscoe Beck 5 string. The whole transaction went like a dream. Excellent communication and ultra fast shipping (4pm one day in England, 10am next day in Northern Ireland - APC surely ROCK!). Deal with confidence. A+

Hi guys, I had this for sale locally (to avoid the dreaded shipping), but no-one seems to be buying ANYTHING so I'll throw it open here. Schecter Model-T bass (black). The Model-T was originally designated the Robert DeLeo signature model until the Stone Temple Pilots' demise. Black pickguard, maple neck, rosewood f'board, 22 frets, Seymour Duncan Vintage PJ pickups (REAL Seymours, not 'Duncan Design'!). A great precision style bass for those on a budget. Very nearly on a level (soundwise) with a Lakland BG that passed through my hands briefly recently! Condition probably 8.5/10. No major dings or scratches. http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM04/Co...del-T-2004.html Trades considered for a Bass PodXT of some description with cash my way otherwise would prefer a straight sale, but run whatever you've got past me - worst I can say is no! Cash price around £250ish plus postage (I'm in Northern Ireland so probably around £35-£40 for shipping) I'll get actual pics up tonight if anyone's interested. Cheers Ian

Stop bumping this you fiend! It's too HOT! Seriously though anyone after a jazz bass that's a little different this is the machine for you. Crazy flexible. My RBV (currently in the post to Nathan) was the best sounding and most flexible passive bass I've played by a country mile. Only parted with it as I'd no need for the 5th string and it was kind of getting in the way. Mr Beck knew what he was doing with his design for these basses for sure. I'll have a 4 string one of these days!
