  1. I see Harley Benton have entered the fray at the budget end of things with an frfr 1x12 for guitar. Looks like a repurposed PS cab they already have in their line but with different firmware for guitar cab presets. Has anyone tried any of the HB stuff for frfr for bass?
  2. Nope, never had the need Edit: but if I did ever have the need the P7 would be on the list of probables!

    Which Helix?

Can't you use the fx return as a second input on the LT?
  4. Wish I could make it to this. I visit guitarguitar in Glasgow any time I'm in the city. Great bass department. Brilliant range instruments. I've nearly parted with serious coin on my last 2 visits (Fender Original 50's series P bass and Dingwall NG3 Darkglass edition)... I did part with serious coin the visit before (Darkglass 900v1)...
  5. While interesting it's in the "not an f'ing chance" price bracket for me for a single pedal I'm afraid.
  6. This exercise just brings home to me how rubbish my ears are...
  7. Having seen what our resident veneering expert can do I'd go for it!
  8. I've owned the Orange and the Darkglass. I'd say the Darkglass is certainly more flexible than the Orange and it certainly will give you more top-end, but I spent most of the time owning it trying to make it sound as good as the Orange did. Take from that what you will...
  9. That looks really smart! The carbon fibre is a nice match to the overall aesthetic of that model I think.
  10. Another one of those "wish you were closer" moments... Love Ashdown ABMs...
  11. This is a solution in need of a problem I think. You could achieve the same effect by using extended screws to fit the magnets directly to the pedal base (surely 99% of pedals have the base screwed on?). The rails are a nonsense idea too. Using a thinner steel plate (weight saving) with milled channels for the wire routing would work better. But then what do I know...
  12. Always a pleasure to see pics of your work!
  13. Nickel Elites. I find Rotosound particularly hard going anyway though... What about some nice pliable flats?
  14. Really tempted by one of these 5 strings...
  15. Now that's how you sell a bass! Wish I had the reddies for this...
  16. Sitting have a pre-gig coffee (Polyphia) and Clay Gober just saunters into the coffee shop like a mere mortal...

  17. I had a DG900 with a Two10 for a while and it worked REALLY well.
  18. Doesn't annoy me as much as the middle string of a 5er not aligning properly with the dots on the fretboard...
  19. I have 65 quid in amazon vouchers... What bass related item should i spend it on?!

Why not buy up all of the plectrums?

  20. Terrible news. One of my all time favourite drummers...
  21. Best: 1). Line 6 HX Stomp. 2). Butchered Laney B215 cabinet. My on-again, off-again band have toyed with looking for a permanent rehearsal space where we can leave our gear. Locally these kinds of places usually involve sharing with other bands and nothing is ever where you left it when you come back to it. Not the kind of place you'd leave your Barefaced cab... SO a big, ugly, brutally heavy cab was the order of the day, just to deter from all but the most necessary of shuffling. If anything this thing isn't heavy enough, but if I remove the casters and strap my racked H&K Bassbase 600 on top it'll maybe do the job. Couldn't be bad to it for 50 quid and a few quid to tart it up a bit. Currently has a pair of Black Widows fitted which aren't ideal, but will suffice until they fosters me off enough to spend a ton changing them for something better... Worst: 1). Zoom B1on - not that there was ANYTHING wrong with it, but I immediately turned round and bought the Stomp, rendering it entirely superfluous to requirements... 2). Custom string set from Status - stupidly didn't check dimensions of my (subsequently sold) headless bass. They didn't fit and Status went radio silent when I asked if I could return them. Must put them in the classifieds one of these days!
