3Leaf Proton?

I had a DG900 with a Two10 for a while and it worked REALLY well.

Doesn't annoy me as much as the middle string of a 5er not aligning properly with the dots on the fretboard...

Terrible news. One of my all time favourite drummers...

Best: 1). Line 6 HX Stomp. 2). Butchered Laney B215 cabinet. My on-again, off-again band have toyed with looking for a permanent rehearsal space where we can leave our gear. Locally these kinds of places usually involve sharing with other bands and nothing is ever where you left it when you come back to it. Not the kind of place you'd leave your Barefaced cab... SO a big, ugly, brutally heavy cab was the order of the day, just to deter from all but the most necessary of shuffling. If anything this thing isn't heavy enough, but if I remove the casters and strap my racked H&K Bassbase 600 on top it'll maybe do the job. Couldn't be bad to it for 50 quid and a few quid to tart it up a bit. Currently has a pair of Black Widows fitted which aren't ideal, but will suffice until they fosters me off enough to spend a ton changing them for something better... Worst: 1). Zoom B1on - not that there was ANYTHING wrong with it, but I immediately turned round and bought the Stomp, rendering it entirely superfluous to requirements... 2). Custom string set from Status - stupidly didn't check dimensions of my (subsequently sold) headless bass. They didn't fit and Status went radio silent when I asked if I could return them. Must put them in the classifieds one of these days!

Any reason you particularly want a combo? Head & cab is much more flexible option...

I've set up an alert on camelcamelcamel to warn the next time the price drops below 200 on Amazon... I have 65 quid in vouchers to spend too!

I'm no expert but plugging numbers into WINISD doesn't make for great viewing for that driver with regards to maximum power handling and cone excursion. Perhaps seek a 2nd opinion from some of the boffins on here to confirm... The aforementioned Celestion looks like an altogether better driver.

So it's based on the HX family? Interesting. Be interested in more details on this.

So if you decide to replace the driver you're stuck with whatever works with what you've already got, but from briefly reading the 2 threads I've linked it looks like improving on previous performance will be no problem if you're willing to spend a little bit. This thread is making the aged Celestion in my Ashdown 1x10 combo feel extremely nervous...

Neural and Darkglass are sister companies so it's not like they're starting from scratch with regards to manufacture and distribution.

At $750 I should hope so, on both counts. It's a lot of money for features that could be implemented cheaper and more robustly and not look like a left over part from a 1970's hifi. It's form over function for me, but if you must have moving faders on your pedal who am I to stop you! First time somebody stomps on one in the wrong place or at a slightly jaunty angle the motorised faders are gonna take a dump though. Don't let anyone near it with liquids. These sorts of parts are NOT designed to be abused in the way a pedal gets abused in the real world.

That's a lot of tin for a gimmicky box...

I'd love to give a Super P a try having owned an ABZ 4 and Afterburner 5 and being a big precision fan... Maybe some day!

Agreed on all counts! I think used Ibanez or Dingwall basses are the best bet below a grand. I'm interested to try one of the new headless Ibanez basses, but if I could get a used Dingwall cheaper I know where my money would go having owned 2 Dingwalls before.

Ormsby guitars have done runs of fanned fret basses. Don't know if they have plans to do more. Maruszczyk offer multiscale as an option. Ltd do the B1005MS. Keep an eye on GOC Guitars. There's one glaring omission there... When are they available? I'd want to know that before parting with anything... Edit: September 2020 shipping. Hmm... I think I'll pass in the meantime, but it looks like a helix killer to me!
