Agreed, they're great kits. I've built the Drive, Antique and Pumpernickel, and have the VONG kit SOMEWHERE in the house (misplaced in a recent office move!).

When Ashdown released the 500 watt version there were no internal changes - I had that confirmed by Ashdown a lot of years ago. These are the best amps on the planet IMHO and I'd never be without mine. I'd be having this rig if shipping was a viable option! Somebody get it bought! -
Someone on that other site contacted Mooer, and tested, and it WILL operate at 9v... Whether it'll take a center negative supply I don't know. EDIT: just looked at the manual and it's 12v center negative supply so might work from standard pedal supply with enough juice

I discovered last night that my mid-2012 MacBook Pro is supported for the most recent OSX Mojave, but I suspect it might be the last OS update available to me.

He isn't kidding when he says "The truss rod protrudes at an odd angle"!!! I'd buy that for the body if it was going for a realistic price, but not for anything over a ton...

I noticed on instagram last night that pedalparts are about to start selling an ROG Ginger kit for anyone that's interested. Nice sounding fliptop emulation that can get into SVT-ish territory. I prefer it to the SFT.

Just been looking at the Mooer Radar cab sim pedal and it has built in and, according to the manual, adjustable HP and LP filters, as well as EQ, power amp and cab sims. No details as to what the available settings are for the filters or what slope the filters have though... Very interesting little pedal nonetheless! Edit:from a user on that other site, HPF is adjustable from 15Hz in 5Hz steps. 5 band eq has sweepable mid points.

Until recently I had a 2012 mac mini 2.3Ghz that I upgraded to 16gb RAM and an SSD. It was pretty sedate before, but it was BLISTERINGLY quick with the upgrades The only thing to be aware of is what age of hardware the operating system supports. With each osx update another "generation" of macs is lopped off. Even as fast as it was, the mac mini I had probably wouldn't survive another update after Mojave... Not the end of the world, but software upgrades will eventually squeeze you.

A state variable filter is certainly nothing new, or a magic ingredient of any kind - both the GR2 and Wonderlove (most envelope filters actually) are based on a state variable filter. They combine a low pass, band pass and high pass filter in one circuit. I'd be more interested in knowing about the revolutionary envelope detection circuit Spencer has used...
