Have a look at the Ashdown James Lomenzo Hyperdrive. Doesn't do quite what you're looking for as it only effects the midrange but check this out and see if it sounds the part:
Thanks Paul... It has me rethinking everything I know about basses. Could lead to some drastic changes around here!!! If only Forte 5's were still a thing...
I've recently bought this lovely Euro 5 from Lee. I don't know why it's taken me so long to won a Spector, but it wasn't for the want of trying!
Really impressed with it. Ergonomically it's my most comfortable bass by quite some distance. There's a BIG downsizing of equipment coming one of these days, but this Spector is certainly safe!
The first thing that strikes me about your post is that none of these basses will feel ANYTHING close to the Kingston Heir 5 you miss. The Heir is a big bass - 35" scale and 19mm spacing at the bridge. Ergonomically these are all in a different ballpark so bear that in mind. Why not another MTD as a matter of interest? They're in the same price bracket...
Me too, I had a Dudepit ltd ed Joe Osborn in Sherwood Green with an East J-retro. Magnificent bass, but it proved (at the time) that I don't get along with skinny necks. Glorious sounding thing it was. Wish I had it now as my hands aren't as good as they once were!
Yup, as @bertbass says if both cabs sound fine on their own one of your speaker leads may be to blame. Individually they'll sound fine but combined one speaker is "pushing" while the other is "pulling", cancelling each other out. Flip the connections on one end of one of the speaker cables. Should sort your issue out. If you're using speakon connectors it may be a screwdriver job.
Yeah I think cash on collection would be the only way to go with this one. Both cash and collection being issues since I'm potless AND in Northern Ireland!!!
To quote Rage Against the Machine "whoever told you that is your enemy". It absolutely will NOT be latency free, having tried the same interface on 4 different machines. It may, however, be better than the MIDI side..
Latency is a curse and one you're unlikely to defeat with the Sonuus as an audio interface I'm afraid. Tried that myself (For the uninitiated in the thread the Sonuus can act as a straight-up audio interface as well as an audio to midi converter).
Only audio interface/recording setup where it doesn't bother me is my Focusrite Clarett which uses thunderbolt 2 to my imac or macbook air. I can't feel any latency at all with it. I say feel because I find latency a feel thing rather than an audible phenomenon, especially if you play with your fingers. With a pick it isn't as detectable.
Bearfoot bass overdrive or one of the many variants of it... Maybe the One Control Blackberry, which is probably the most available, or the Fuzzrocious Dark Driving.
I built my own from a kit and loved it... then modded it so extensively that it lost the magic. Need to go back to that one again as it was a very nice pedal...
