  1. ACG. Every day of the week. Alan can do multiscale too.
  2. Measure of success? For me it'd be making a comfortable living doing something I loved to a level that meant I didn't grow to hate it. Think Devin Townsend rather than Pete Townsend. I really like Kevin Kelly's 1000 true fans theory...
  3. Andy, nothing budget springs to mind, but have a look at the Fender Classic 50's P bass or the Roadworn 50's P bass for wider necks. Good luck with your search!
  4. This. I think they may have already done it to be frank...
  5. The "fan" is the driver. They're just visible in the new version. Look a bit like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Unknown-Bodyshaker/dp/B002LQAHPE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1524832245&sr=8-4&keywords=bass+shaker I notice the Eich ones have a headphone output socket on them now. Still have plans to do a DIY one when time allows...
  6. If you have access to a blowtorch you may be able to flame polish your edges.
  7. Yes, note that there is no BB RC Booster. There's the Bass RC Booster and the Bass BB Preamp. Different circuits. Similar tone shaping from both, but more drive from the BB. RC was a bit tame for me, but does add the tiniest bit of hair if desired.
  8. Pedalparts do it in kit form if you know anyone handy with a soldering iron - an easy enough build too (speaking from personal experience). I believe there are clones of the guitar version out there (Mooer Pure Boost, Caline Highway Man), but not the bass version, but that never stopped (Nashville session great) Michael Rhodes who used the guitar version for years before the bass version was released.
  9. Well keep me in mind! Noticed that!
  10. Already did after reading this thread yesterday!
  11. I really fancy one of these... Why couldn't I have fancied one about 6 months ago when there seemed to be a few of them about for sale!
  12. I have a Tokai T-bird hanging on the wall that needs a refret... and I have a good Squier P-bass neck... and access to a router... a plan is formulating... I didn't say it was a good plan! This looks awesome, by the way!
  13. Matthew's videos are some of the best out there... Pedal sounds great here!
  14. Seller is depriving a village somewhere of an idiot...
  15. Probably wouldn't seem that way to the div trying to sell it! Takes me back to the day I overheard someone trying to pass a mid-90's Sunn Mustang strat off as a 60's collectable because his uncle had told him it was worth something...
  16. My old Lakland JO used to pick up both my ticking watch and my phone. I'm an oddity as I'm right handed but also wear my watch on my right wrist, if I had worn it on my left wrist the phone was the only issue... Are you playing anywhere near fluorescent tubes? The starter cap in those could do it too.
  17. Well there was somebody on here asking about a guitar with a wide neck last week... This one isn't as bad as the OP one!!! Although certainly not worth the asking price...
  18. Serek, Serek, Serek!!!
  19. I got an email from ebay inviting me to make an offer. I thought to myself maybe £200, £250? I'm not familiar with the how offer limits are set on ebay but I assume from previous offers I've made that lowballs are automatically rejected...
  20. I wouldn't feel awkward at all! It's just about wood choices really, isn't it? He has his set range of body shapes and set headstock shapes after all. Just send him a pic saying you're looking for this kind of look, similar woods and he can suggest what he has that could get you close. I would have done the same, except in my case it was one of his previous builds that I liked the look of. As it turned out he still had the billet he'd cut the top off that I'd admired so I got the next slice off it! There's been at least one more since and they all look equally awesome.
  21. A pre-CBS precision is my holy grail. My friend's refinished '64 is the finest bass I've ever laid hands on. Maybe a Celinder P given the 2nd best bass I ever played was a Celinder Jazz (the Skarbee Celinder that was owned by a few guys on here over the years but has gone into hiding more recently). Having owned a Wal (and played a few more) I'd suggest you speak to Alan at ACG... Much more flexible in terms of available options and, to me at least, a much more pleasing end result.
  22. Pahahahahahahahahahahahahahah... *cough* *splutter* *cough* Ahem... Pahahahahahahahahahahahahahah... Nice bass though!
  23. Sorry, sorry, sorry... I should know my place!
  24. Brilliant! You win the internet!
  25. Agh! Why am i currently financially crippled! And only down the road...
