  1. Don't see a setup like that very often! How do you use the Behringer? Assume the Radial is your DI?
  2. I think you're dreaming gentlemen! Have you seen the size of decent 100 watt valve amp transformers? I was surprised Ashdown could fit 30 watt ones in such an amp as Stubby!
  3. Yes please! I'll PM you my email address. Have a fairly simple starting point laid out in LTspice and the curves look along the right lines, but I bow to your superior knowledge!
  4. Certainly didn't feel like I was being treated like an idiot! I can handle a bit of banter - round here if a mate doesn't call you the naughty c word you're not a mate! But hey, it's the internet, so if you want to feel put-out on my behalf there's not much I can do to stop you. There aren't too many companies that come on here and take the cr4p Ashdown does and I do respect them for that.
  5. Awesome. Just so everyone is clear, I have had zero issues (other than above and a certain other product which split opinion) with Ashdown. I currently own 6 bits of Ashdown gear and have GAS for at least 6 more...
  6. -12dB/oct was my thinking
  7. Actually yes. Bad day. Apologies, but that's rankled for a while, unintentional or not. I don't disagree - it's a great amp, although I'm not the greatest fan of the gain control. You wouldn't be willing to share the preamp schematic by any chance? I do like to tinker... Looking forward to the Stubby CTM 30. It'll be a must buy for me!
  8. Just look at any promotional material for the CTM15. Videos on YouTube of Mr Gooday himself using the "All Tube" line included. The guitar world should also be aware that the Hayden Mini Mofo 15 is also marketed the same way. The eagle eyed will note that in the above pic, the Mini Mofo is built on the same PCB... So... Yeah, but no...
  9. It's not. I'm in entire agreement with you. But what IS wrong is to market it to the unsuspecting as an ALL VALVE amp. I have one and like it, but it pisses me off that a company like Ashdown has to stoop so low.
  10. Just noticed the itrack pocket is down to under £20. No brainer if you're after a lightning interface...
  11. If I were buying again I'd probably splash for the Apogee Jam. I prefer a Lightning port interface after a horrific experience with the original iRig.
  12. Thomann list that Gator double bag as weighing 4.8kg... That's heavier than a lot of basses!
  13. Been sometime in the last year. I bought a PB50 for my brother's birthday this time last year and it was still Wilkinson. Pretty nice bass if you don't mind a bit of fettling and a proper baseball bat neck!
  14. Bit of Drozd in there too. Maybe some Ritter...
  15. I like to keep this pic on hand for just such occasions...
  16. Description of the valve complement is pretty much word for word the same as the standard CTM30 so think it is. My worry would be building transformers down to a size would have some sort of negative impact. But colour me interested!
  17. I use a Focusrite itrack pocket with the current iPad running Bias Fx or Jamup pro. Works well. With audiobus app you can cute latency right down by varying the buffer size and you can internally route the output from Bias/Jamup to Garageband to record. Internal amps in Garageband are also excellent.

  19. A wider range is easily achievable with a higher value of potentiometer, but this range is with same value as the HPF so only have to keep one value to hand.
  20. This lunchtime I've mostly been modelling HPF and LPF filter blocks in LTSpice... As you were... Any feeling on LPF filter range? Looking at 700Hz - 14.5kHz at the minute.
  21. @Al Krow Yes, but combining a -12dB/oct fixed and -12dB/oct variable you would have a -24dB/oct HPF....
  22. Initial thoughts are, as per the FDeck, -12dB/oct fixed HPF (it is possible to make the cut-off switchable but that adds to the enclosure size), -12dB/oct variable HPF, plus a -12dB/oct LPF. It'd be unlikely to fit in a 1590A though. Need ganged pots for the variable HPF and LPF (for the uninitiated a ganged pot is 2 pots mounted on a single shaft).
  23. COG T16/Hammond 1590a might be a stretch for anything other than a fixed HPF... at least for me... Never built anything in a 1590a! Now might be the time though!
