I owned the M900 for a while before deciding going to in-ears was probably a better use of my money. It's a fantastic amp. As @Higgie says, the tone control is the secret sauce of the amp, and makes it much more pleasing to use than the B*K or Vintage pedals - I bought the Vintage Ultra after the M900 and it just wasn't as nice. It's a really versatile design, but be aware it has its quirks - like the volume control controlling the DI output level, something that was corrected in the M500.

That's stunning! I think you've made my mind up - I've recently got hold of an unfinished neck and body to build something similar and had been in contact with Mark about him putting it together and finishing it... Seeing that, I think it would be the way to go!

Certainly didn't feel like I was being treated like an idiot! I can handle a bit of banter - round here if a mate doesn't call you the naughty c word you're not a mate! But hey, it's the internet, so if you want to feel put-out on my behalf there's not much I can do to stop you. There aren't too many companies that come on here and take the cr4p Ashdown does and I do respect them for that.

Awesome. Just so everyone is clear, I have had zero issues (other than above and a certain other product which split opinion) with Ashdown. I currently own 6 bits of Ashdown gear and have GAS for at least 6 more...

Just look at any promotional material for the CTM15. Videos on YouTube of Mr Gooday himself using the "All Tube" line included. The guitar world should also be aware that the Hayden Mini Mofo 15 is also marketed the same way. The eagle eyed will note that in the above pic, the Mini Mofo is built on the same PCB... So... Yeah, but no...

It's not. I'm in entire agreement with you. But what IS wrong is to market it to the unsuspecting as an ALL VALVE amp. I have one and like it, but it pisses me off that a company like Ashdown has to stoop so low.

If I were buying again I'd probably splash for the Apogee Jam. I prefer a Lightning port interface after a horrific experience with the original iRig.

Been sometime in the last year. I bought a PB50 for my brother's birthday this time last year and it was still Wilkinson. Pretty nice bass if you don't mind a bit of fettling and a proper baseball bat neck!
