Would be awesome if it worked well...

What's your budget @modular? I'm sure you're well aware from your Warwick experiences that the basses you mentioned will be superb for somebody, just not necessarily for you! Personally I don't think you can go wrong with ANY Lakland if you're sticking to that list... My recommendation would be to try as many out in person as you can... and keep an eye out for a used ACG...

That's Paul Turner's Alleva Coppolo. Olympic white, so just the lighting giving the impression it's yellow... and boy can he play it!

Regarding your electrical problems I'd suggest having a tech replace all the electrolytic caps on the preamp PCBs. If you look at the circuit boards you may notice that there are components leaking a greenish substance, looks a bit like what you get from a leaking AA battery. Very simple job and only takes a few minutes for somebody handy with a soldering iron.

Now if they'd just get with the program and do an MIM version of that 60's P bass then we'd (I'd) be happy...

Last rehearsal room I was in had a Fender Rumble 1x15 100 combo, the v2 version. I was very impressed with it. -

I'd be straight on to Alan at ACG... -
There was somebody on the Barefaced facebook group selling a '69er (the cab you naughty lot!) for £650 the other day if I recall correctly...

My first thought was Line 6 Helix - I believe you can import 3rd party cabinet impulses if the Helix cabs don't do it for you. If it doesn't sound as good to you as the as the MXR maybe you should stick with the MXR and stop worrying! Law of diminishing returns and all that.

Have all the bits sitting waiting... Just real life getting in the way! -
I have done in the past... But that Growling Krizzly DLX looks like quite the undertaking!!! EDIT: I should point out there's nothing about the electronics side of such a build that I would find daunting in the least! It's the enclosure drilling and application of decals that would have me quaking in my boots...

Do I even want to look near this thread since my Burman is still in a state of disrepair... -

Very nice and not a bad price considering... 300 quid less than Ashdown's CTM100... -
Schweet!

Since it's a rehearsal room setup and not for gigging I could use the 6 auxes as 3 stereo pairs and the main outs/desk headphone outs as the 4th though, couldn't I?

Doesn't the P1 need a headphone amp before it in the chain? I think mono in this instance means sends the same signal to both ears. EDIT: Actually reading up a bit on the PM1 it does stereo too, but it DOES need a headphone amp. I have the PM1 and it does just fine for what I've tried so far (not been outside the house yet! Only used it in mono). But I like the look of the P2 as it does stereo on a single cable - just need to figure out how to wire it up for 4 users from an X18 desk...

Ashdown B-social 75w version. New b-stock in Italy. £200

Excellent news that! I'll get the ipad hooked up over the weekend. Bit of high pass filter in bias might help this thing no end. Must have a look inside mine. I'm not averse to using a screwdriver but, as you say Maude, not for £600... For £200 I'm much more willing -

Got mine today. Sounds pretty good as a Bluetooth speaker - up and away on that score within 5 seconds of plugging it in. Not what you'd call amazing as a bass amp. Mine doesn't fart on open E per se... Just reminds you it's not actually a bass cab and could do with a high pass filter about 80Hz! Cutting bass back to 9 o'clock took the stress out of the cab, but sounded a bit pants. It was sitting on my rather cluttered kitchen table during this so I must try it on our solid floors to see how it fairs. I'm a bit disappointed the app connected feature won't work with bias, etc. The engineer in me had assumed it was basically a glorified fx loop and therefore any amp sim would work. The original iRig worked using the 3 pole 1/8" jack on the iPhone so assumed this would work the same. May fiddle with this a bit... I'm too invested in bias to even consider another app. Overall I'm not disappointed as it's pretty ("oak" front - actually it's vinyl wrap but looks OK from more than a few feet away!), sounds reasonably good as a Bluetooth speaker, can take bass even if it's not quite a bass amp, and has a lot of connectivity options. Haven't tried the wireless dongle yet. I still think it was beyond stupid of Ashdown to market this at its original price (look like a 600 quid plus piece of kit it certainly doesn't), but at what I've paid for this I'll certainly keep it around! -
Sorry Alex! Didn't mean to misrepresent you sir. Perhaps this will suffice:
