1. Would this work for 3 controls and a jack? Have you got a pic? Geek's pic link in his thread seems to go to an empty folder...
2.
I think you mean 14 hole ...
No, he means 4 control holes...
3. These are awesome combos. Had mine longer than almost anything else in my gear collection. Been a LOT of stuff come and go over the years, but my 1x10 is never going anywhere....
4. Wouldn't that sort of grill interfere with the flow of air from the ports? You maybe don't want to hear that!
5. DAMNIT! If this falls through I'll take it (if you can post that is!)
6. I'd seen on that other bass related talking site where someone had used the X2N-7 in the bridge with good results. Probably worth considering!
7. Ooooh, ooooh, what'd you go for Mike?
8. The Attitude II would be more likely than the III for me, and they seem to be around the £750 (achievable) to £1k (a step too far). I think visually I'd rather add a neck pickup to a precision, but adding £160+ quid of pickups to a Roadworn and you'd be into lower Attitude territory... I've never played an Attitude, or a Roadworn P for that matter but I have played a Classic 50's P which has the same neck dimensions minus the "softening" and liked it a lot. Oh decisions, decisions... If I can locate some Will Power pickups I might just put them in my Yamaha Pulser and be done with it!
9. Sold Ruud my 3leaf Enabler. Prompt payment and good comms. And he likes it too which is a bonus!
10.
My 83 P has the wide nut width, i don't know the name of the series (if there was one), they were black/maple with white pickup covers and a white guard, worth looking out for if you like the feel of wider width necks. i'm always surprised by how nice it is to play, despite having small hands. I find fast solos that involve a lot of string skipping tricky on it but for everything else it's perfect.
Sounds like an Elite. Does it have a fairly substantial bridge as opposed to a BBOT?
11.
Another option for you could be to try and find a roadworn neck for transplant onto the body of your choice? I personally really rate the neck of a RW Precision.
Again, something I'd already considered, but well into 300 quid by the time it would be delivered. Probably best seeking out a complete Roadworn P - would HAVE to be sunburst though! (You know what this is for Lewis, having discussed it a bit last week. I've a wanted ad up for the Will Power pickups to try in one of my current P basses first, but no joy yet...)
12. Aw shucks... Now I'm blushing!
13. I'm putting my Ashdown CTM30 up for sale. 30 watt all valve bass amp. Bought as I missed my LB30, but I think it's been used for a grand total of 4 hours since I hatched it from the box... Absolutely as new. Have the original box (and user instructions!) so shipping is a possibility, but not included in the price. Sounds brilliant but I'm not playing it enough to justify keeping it I'm afraid. After attempting to price courier services for this to EU I'm afraid this should be considered UK only unless you want to be charged an extortionate rate for shipping! Price drop to 250 plus shipping (£13 to UK mainland by parcelforce next day). Trades I'm really interested in at present would be for valve preamps (SVP CL, SWR IOD, etc.), Sansamp VT DI, Behringer X air 16. I'm full up on the bass and cab fronts...
14. Oh I like that a lot!
15. Cool. Not in a buying position right now, just doing my homework. Ideally I'm after a Yamaha Attitude, but I'm working on a backup plan!
16. Oh yeah, but let's keep an eye on budget! I should have said sub-Roadworn money...
17. Can anyone suggest a precision with a 1.75" wide nut? Fender 50s Roadworn (and other 50s varieties) Fender Roger Waters I believe some Steve Harris sigs. Anything else I've missed? Doesn't have to be Fender...
18. The bighead is awesome. Totally worth the money. If you use an apple iphone the Irig is a good suggestion. You don't have to use effects and amp sims just because they're there! There's the Zoom B1ON to consider if you don't want to spend as much as that. It's not rechargeable but you could run it on rechargeable AA's... Bit of a faff though...
19. Around "Ten Summoners Tales" time he was alternating between a 60's jazz and a graphite necked (Moses I believe) precision bitsa. Haven't seen him play anything but a 50's P (or replica thereof) in quite a while... Other than a lute of course...

DIY Effects

For a change the drilling isn't the only bit I'm dreading! I've decided I'm going to have a go at housing both the Antique and Drive pedals in the one etched enclosure. Never etched anything before...

Eventually made a start on my Guma Antique. PCB went together really quickly. Fully populated (minus pots, jacks, psu, led as not sure what way i'll do them yet) in less than an hour, SMD included. I'll do the Drive before the end of the week then get on to the enclosure. Not looking forward to that bit!
22. Enabler sold pending payment.
23. Bump and price drop. Only enabler remaining.
