1. The very same one, had it re-fined, on the basis that it had already been stripped and a good re-fin would not reduce the value any further.
2.
Totally awesome! Can you pm me your email address, please? I'll hook you up with Barry.
PM sent, thanks
3. I just recieved for christmas "The History of the 1966 Slab-Bodied Precision Bass", a great present made even better when I saw the picture on the back cover! it's my 1959 P Bass.... I could not believe it at first, but checking with my photo's before the respray I am 90% certain that it is mine....tell me what you think....it would be nice to find out a bit more history about it so if anyone knows Barry Matthews the Author of the book, or if he is a member of Basschat, (you never know), the maybe I can get confirmation. 4. Will have a look, if I get a chance in the New Year to get over I will as long as you promise not to try and convert me to Jazz!
5. Hi Gary, not seen you since way back, I think the pub in Wisborough Green. Hope you are keeping well. Steve
6. Right now, what you want to do is Replace the bridge with a Badass, change the pickups for EMG active, put a mirror scratch plate on it and join a Thin Lizzy tribute band! Think you got a nice bass for a reason price there....
7. In the current market I would put a rough price of between £1200 and £1800, this based on the price I paid for my 59P CS, (prior to the credit crunch), and the price I sold my Limited Edition 40th Anniversary CS P Bass. Although in this market I think it would fetch closer to the lower end. Hope this helps.
8.
Hmmmmmm In your that pic of the 74 theres a truss rod opening towards the nut.... is that something that changed? Or is that pic of a 74 jazz or something?
74 is a Maple and the "73" is a rosewood. If its Alder, its stripped I would say.

TOMBBOY

Thanks for collecting the Drumbs Jamie, hope he likes them. Great person to do business with!
10.
Lovely, smooth deal and a real nice guy! By the way Steve.... I want first dibs on that '59!!!! Serious too!
Thanks Jamie, it was good to meet you, hope your trip back was ok, I know you came quite a distance to pick this up, and also some young drummer enjoys his christmas present! If you have a feedback link sent it to me so that I can return the feedback, tried to find one for you but failed. regards Steve Glad you liked the 59!
11. The Road Worn series are seriously good Guitars/Basses, I was a MIM snob until I tried one, and now have bought the 50's Tele. If youlook around although they retail for £800+ I picked up me Tele for £550 brand new! So forget about the label, go look for one at a good price, and don't pay retail price.
12. Wow! what a fantastic amp.......thanks Mark for getting it to me so quickly and at a good price! Used it last night and it was just about on number 2 through my 1 x15 Epi, cannot wait to try it with the 4 x 10 as well. This amp is awsome but Tiny. I think I may have a Markbass amp for sale.
13. Hi Jordon, there is a large number of us from Hampshire on Basschat! Welcome
14. Here is a picture of the Prodigy This is a truly great bass, the active circuit is quite amazing.
15.
finally found a pic of the headstock logo that the book suggests should be on it which also has a serial no. on it - and the right tuners
Good bit of detective work, S/n in the same place as the Prodigy, mine is N1 and also is a very low number. Which reminds me, anyone want to buy a very rare Prodigy Bass?
16. I think I have it sorted now..... Its a Fender P-Bass Plus Deluxe Not a Fender Precision Plus Deluxe And it would be early 90's as the Prodigy was designed from the P-Bass Plus Deluxe
17. having looked at the picture, I would say it is a early 90's Fender Prodogy that someone has replaced the logo on. I will post a picture of my Prodogy tommorow if I remember. I would say 91/92 Steve
18. If it is a Fender and as described then it sounds like an early 90's rather than 80's. However the S/n was still on the headstock. Without a picture you are unlikely to know what this is. Steve
19. Hi Chris, That is a fine Bass No its not its awesome!
20. My 79P has EMG's, (active with the active bit in the pickup not on a seperate board), and the sound is fantastic! Out of all my basses it is my one of choice. The bad news is that I have a bad back and because the 79 weigh's a lot I have had to retire it.
21. Thanks Nigel, it is always good to sell an instrument to someone you know is going to enjoy using it! I must admit I get as much pleasure out of letting people play the 59 as I do owning it! Steve
22. It was good to meet with you Nigel, and share some of the interest we have in Bass and Guitars. Hope you enjoy the Spirit and I am glad it is going to at long last be used rather than stored. If anyone wants to know, Nigel is a top guy!
23. Less than a day to get a bargain and then it will be on Ebay at a starting price of £400, I have already had an email from a basschater that has just sold one of these on ebay for £600.
24.
I had one of these as my first elec kit about 4 years ago, albeit the slightly newer black module version. Great starter kit with plenty of great sounds. Good price too,With the added ride cymbal and mesh snare, you are onto a winner. I sold mine to go up to a custom £2k td10 monster kit, you won't be dissapointed with that module that's for sure!
Just need to find the time to play the TD10 now, (oh and the ability!)
25.
Can you post?
As long as you pay the cost, and you dont mind putting it back together again. It will come with the manual.
