Mesa Boogie Rig M-Pulse 600W at 4 Ohm- SOLD SOLD SOLD
petetexas replied to petetexas's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Your dead right ! Best Bass rig I have ever owned , just wish my lower back would agree ! ! ! ! ! ! Every morning after a gig , my back would " complain " , and I would walk around like a 100 year old on crutches ( mind you I am 69 ! ) Saying that , I now have a lightweight Warwick LWA1000 running into two GK 2x12 lightweight Neo cabs . The sound is so uncoloured , I use a Tech21 VT Bass pedal in front to warm it up .. My back is happy , and I am . Whoever buys this , or parts of it , will get a bargain .( they might have to go on a body building course ! ) Pete -

Hi Colin, They are 18mm across ( both ) and Bridge is 94mm , neck is 92mm . This is measured at the top face of the pup . Not really interested in the Di Marzios ( had them before - found them too mellow ) By the way, I have tried all sorts of Jazz Bass pups ( Bartolini , Lindy Fralin , Fender Custom shop , etc etc ) and the best , IMHO are the Nordstrand . They are expensive ( £160 pair ) but well worth it ., and they fit perfectly . I will be away now for a few days of isolation ( no phone or internet - brilliant ) so there will be no way of contact till Friday , but they will still be here when I get back . Thanks Pete

I have given up on heavy gear ( Mesa Boogie 600W M-Pulse head , 2 2x10 Powerhouse cabs ) because every morning after a gig , my lower back would hurt like hell . Now using 2 2x12 G&K Neo cabs ( 50lb each ) , and a Warwick LWA 1000 Head .( 6lb in weight !) - NO back problems now . Just measured the action on my Bitsa Jazz .......at 12th fret distance between bottom of string to top of fret ........... E .140" A .130" D .120" G .110" About .015" relief on neck String Gauge .105 .085 .065 .045 Pete

My bitsa Jazz , has a high action , because I find a much better balance across the output of the strings . Could it be that they are allowed to vibrate more freely , without buzzing on frets ? . I had a terrible problem with the output varying across the strings with a low action Tried balanced tension sets etc etc , but as soon as I raised the action , balance heaven ! I only use Fender 7250M ( quite cheap ) but I dont seem to notice how high the action is when gigging . Anyhow , what amp are you using now Lozz ( I take it you sold my Ampeg on ? ) Pete

Hi, Yep I have just searched my "spares " box and found them . I had forgoten they were there . They are Fender Standard Jazz ( the short one for the neck , and the longer one at the bridge ) If I remember correctly , they were bought from someone here on Basschat . There are some surface scratches on the cases , but still fully functional . £40 to you incl UK Mainland postage . Pete

Hi, Just bought one of these acoustic Guitars , only info I can find is that they are made in Vietnam . Looked at their web site , and none match any current models . There is no head stock logo , no serial number , Just a oval shaped shim of wood inside stating Duy Ngoc . The reason I got it was because it has a wonderful balanced tone across the strings , and a nice feel to the neck . I love playing a six string now and then . Cost £130 , including a VERY padded gig bag . Will get some pics up tomorrow ( must rehearse the bass for the gig tonight ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ) Pete

That looks Brilliant , I love natural a wood body . Is it Rosewood fingerboard , or ebony ?
-
Hi, I cant find my build thread anywhere .................................. I have always used thin veneer ( of different thicknesses ) of about 12 mm wide across the width of pocket . Never had any issue with joint not being solid , or any loss of sustain . In fact the Bitsa Jazz above , I am thinking of putting some form of damper by bridge , because there is too much sustain . One thing I did ( this may be of help - may not ) when I aligned the neck to the body , I laid a 24" steel straight edge along each side of the neck , and once it was dead center to the pup cut outs , scored ( hidden underneath the scratchplate ) two lines which I can use in future if I ever have to take the neck off . Any other questions , just ask . Pete

Warwick LWA1000 + Gallien Krueger 212 neo Cabs
petetexas replied to petetexas's topic in Amps and Cabs
Yep , I realised that at the gig…………..next Sat will disconnect one cab and see.................................... Do you use a Warwick LWA1000 then ? Pete -
Hi , Just wondered if anyone uses a Warwick LWA1000 head , and into what cabs ? I have just done my first gig with this head and 2 of these cabs , the sound is massive ! I gave up ( well my back told me to ) using my Mesa Boogie Head and Cabs , so I went lightweight . Pete

Hi Gottastopbuyinggear, The neck to body fit was ok, but had to shim the neck angle to get enough clearance of pups and height of bridge . It did take quite a bit of extra work to get the neck aligned to body . The nut was not cut , had to do that myself ( being an ex guitar teck of some 20 years - was no problem ) The fretting is OK ,but for the first few months , I was continually dressing fret ends ( I think the wood used was not seasoned correctly and was shrinking , making the fret ends stick out - but its ok now . I will measure up the width later on today for you , and also dig out the posting I did on the build of this . I have used her now for about 12 months gigging , and would not change her . Pete
