Now l have the Headrush frfr112 cab to use with it , it sounds much better , even the presets ! It's a step up for me into modern technology , 75 year old bass player , using the VERY EASY TO USE screen . I'll spend some time going through all the amps and see what l get . Thanks for all input Pete

Hi , Anyone use one of these ? Limited sounds for bass , just wondering , what you thought . Pete

Hi , The Hartke HD112 cab is a 1x12 cab , and has a switch on the back for 4 ohms or 8 ohms , Pete
-
How does a 4 or 8 ohm switch work on the back of a cab , when you only have one speaker of 4 or 8 ohms in the cab ?
-
Anyone run the above direct into a power amp ? Is it any good ? I run mine at moment into a Messa D800 , which seems to be a waste . (Bassman modelling , into Messa Amp.) Pete

Hi guys , Used it Sunday at the gig , but as usual I kept switching to position 1 , then 3 , then 6 , then back to 3 etc etc etc just because they were there !..........too much messing about really . What I will say is that the sounds were all pretty good , all the way around the 6 positions switch . I might leave it on and try to improve the loss volume control , and settle on one sound . Last gig for the band anyhow, so no hurry . I`ll keep you posted Pete

Playing Sunday afternoon , will leave it as it is (but take my Rivoli Bas as a standby just in case ) Thanks for input . Will put Glock preamp in if this turns out to be rubbish .

Here are the two sketches of how the pentatone was wired ......... First one ( A ) correct to the instructions of de lisle..........vol pot works Second one ( B ) My extra cable ( balanced more across the six positions ( still some slight loss in volume ))Vol pot does not work correctly ..... Pete
-
Had reply from de lisle , l have somehow added an extra wire from volume pot to bass pentatone , hence the loss of volume smoothness (all effect at full turn) BUT , wired correctly as de lisle say , there is a large amount of volume lost as you go through the 6 positions , but the volume control works smoothly . I'm going to leave it with the extra wire , as l prefer the smoother sound , and less volume loss going through the positions . I will post both sketches later today , maybe someone with electrical knowledge can explain? Looks like the Glock will take a back seat for the time being . Pete

While awaiting the Glock , l have fitted a bass pentatone ( 6 position varitone ) to the Gibbo.........very confusing connection info on line for this unit l - have asked de lisle for clarification. The different notch filters give the Gibbo quite a range of sounds , but l seem to have a connection issue, because l have lost the smoothness of my volume control ! Pete

Hi steve-bbb , Fantastic! I had this about 10 years ago when I worked as a guitar tech (retired for last 8 years), somehow lost it, even in German its extremely useful. Thanks for posting it. Pete

Thanks thedontcarebear , just got a reply fromthe Europe address, who got a reply from Gibson USA . Here it is for anyone else.... Pete SCH-LP Tribute DC bass.pdf

Hi , Had a reply from Thomann Tech ( who has been in touch with Glockenklang ) Yep , connect the + on the pup to 3 or 4 on the VOLUME pot , missing out the BALANCE control , and do not connect the MID pot . Pete
-
Hi , I thought as much , and have asked Glockenklang, and Thomann, without any reply from either . Thanks for info, I feel a bit better getting one , and doing it now . All I need is a Volume and Tone ( I know it will be a ganged pot with treb and bass for the tone ) but thats all I need SIMPLICITY ON STAGE ! Pete
-
Hi , Has anyone used the above onboard pre amp, and removed the BLEND control , so you have VOL , TREB/BASS (ganged pot) only ? Pete
-
Hi Guys, I recon it’s a series / parallel pull push because there is no noticeable drop in volume either in or out only a very slight increase in the highs. Reason I require the schematic, is because I am going to remove the volume and tone, and replace with a Glockenklang two band pre amp to get rid of the MUDDY sound. I just want a schematic a) to see exactly what the pull / push does, and b) the four conductor wires from the pickup are a different colour to normal colour codes for Gibson pickups……… RED WHITE GREEN BLACK Pete
