1.
Oooh, how I wish I had the readies for this. The '58 is the all time nicest P IMO. Btw, that trio-pic has me gasping for air. Free bump!
Thanks BB, i agree, the 3TSB/Maple/Gold combo is one of Leo's finest ever. Cheers.
 2.
Indeed it does!
Now you've sold the fretless, do you still fancy a '58 Relic??
 3. 'Finally-a-victory-for-Chelsea' style, celebratory BUMP!!!
 4. Yes, that's sort of my impression of them too, but I thought they were 34" scale? Maybe they are 34" actually, i guess i meant the short, stubby 15 fret neck, having never actually played one, the oddity of them has always made me curious, one day i'll find one somewhere, have a plonk, and be grateful i didnt spend £2k+ on one!!! Your '73 does like nice, i've very partial to a sunburst/rosewood/tort combo, i just dont get on playing them, i found it to be an expensive way of making a slide sound better, but then i guess that shows my limited talent!! Sell the '73, and buy my '58, that sounds like a plan!!
 5.
Another visitor to your web site Rick and most enjoyable it was too.
Thanks Gary, between me and you, my 10 year old Son showed me how to do it, after i saw him creating one, needless to say, i felt pretty old, and past it, kids today have tooo much knowledge!! It's quite an amateur start though, more to come hopefully!
 6.
Completely off topic, for which I apologise, but I love the Bass V on your website! Did you used to own it? I have always wanted one, but not sure why
Just noticed you have a Fretless Precision, after my previous reply! To add to that, i think my lack of musical ability with the instrument I love, was the main factor in me not quite knowing what to do with it, rather than the instrument itself! I'll get my coat. TAXI !!!!!
 7.
Completely off topic, for which I apologise, but I love the Bass V on your website! Did you used to own it? I have always wanted one, but not sure why
Firstly, congratulations, i think you're the first, and probably last person to view my rather lame attempt at showcasing some of my collection!! The Bass V is not one of mine, although like you, I've always fancied one, for curiosity value only i suspect. I think 5 mins after buying it, I'd probably question what possessed me (I had the same raection with a fretless, wanted one for years, and finally bought one, only to realise that it was the most limited bass I'd ever picked up, let alone bought!). They are lovely looking instruments though, and the shortscale makes it interesting, one day maybe, it would have to be a dot neck sunburst though. I nearly bought one from new york a few years ago, but it didnt have the impossible to find bridge cover or case, and i'm a bit obsessed with things being 'right', so passed on it, was great value though. Thanks again for looking at the site, i must get the rest of my gear on there!!
 8.
Nope but it looks bloody awful!
You got that right, looks like a homebuild jobby, as an O-Level Project!!
 9.
The sunburst looks dreadful, I've never seen a Fender body that dark by the edges.
The picture is definitely of a real 1960, this dark edged burst is very common on 1960 Jazz basses, almost all original '60 sunburst jazzes i've seen are like this, they fade to an almost 2-tone appearance. (See examples below for reference) Is the auction real............yeah right!! Has all the signs to avoid, zero feedback, especially rare item, poorly described, almost no pictures, starting price of £1, and no replies to questions. 10.
Hi there, I'm also the proud owner of a 1966 Vox Foundation Cab. Solely made with Macca in mind, for their upcoming '66 tour, where he stated he wanted something smaller and lighter, but as punchy as the Super Foundation. So from this I would guess what you've got is actually an early 1966 Vox cab. I may be mistaken, but obviously they never toured after 1966, so I'd be suprised if its 67.
Surprised if that were true, because this is larger and heavier than a foundation cab, being the super twin foundation, its the biggest bass cab they did in this series, as a 2x15. Also, if it was a '66, it would be a JMI badged model, they are'nt, they are Vox Sound Ltd, which would suggest late '67-early '68, after applying serial numbers etc. Anyway, someone else is now the proud owner, i sold it last week, and miss it already, just don't have the space, and the sound wasn't great, as with most solid state vox amps!
 11.
Anything from Ricksfine52 collection would probably secure at least two of anything anyone else suggests but that would be cheating......I will come back later....
Thanks Pete, I'd swap them for more ability in the bass department though, I hit a wall a few years back, and can't seem to improve anymore! Hey, ho!
 12.
Wow. If I had £1500 I'd bite your arm off!
Thanks Unc, it is a fab bass, pic your 6 numbers for tomorrow night, gotta be in it to win it!!
 13. quote The vintage and rare shop in Bath had an original Entwistle Jazz bass in stock for sale of course. It was from his collection and was considered to have been in since around mid 70's and was being offered at 34k or there abouts poss two years ago?? It was featured in a book called "Bass Culture - The John Entwistle Collection". so had some documentary historical evidence of sorts.quote It was this one, actually in their London branch, an almost mint 1960 stack knob in see through blonde, it was offers around £34K, staggering condition, simply stunning, almost new stacker, worth £20k without the pedigree. Apologies for the picture, i was trying it out whilst down there one day to pick up a '56 P, and they left me in the basement with it while they went up to the shop, and couldnt resist a picture, with what is arguably the rarest bass out there, so had to set the camera up on a side cupboard for the pic, not the best!! Anyway, getting back to thread, the ebay ad is hilarious, nuff said!! Someone will be dragged into it though no doubt, shame...
 14. Sold, via 'the bay' Thanks for looking
 15.
Cash I have... just tell me how much it is going down each day so that I can calculate when to give you a call!
PM me if you're really interested, we may be able to sort something out??
 16.
Looking at your equipment list this might seem a silly question but... are you ONLY interested in vintage and/or Fender stuff?
Generally speaking yes, nothing else works for me i'm afraid. Cash sale is my preference, and every day i'm prepared to accept less!
